Both AEG ULTIMATE 8000 and Dyson V15 are capable of effectively cleaning a wide range of surfaces, such as hardwood floors, tile floors, laminate floors, carpets, area rugs, and more.
The Dyson V15 features two cleaning heads, including a Digital Motorbar and a Laser Slim Fluffy. The Laser Slim Fluffy cleaning head is specifically designed for vacuuming hard floors. It features an integrated laser that illuminates dust and debris on hard floors, making it easier to see and demonstrate that users don’t miss anything. In addition, the cleaning head features soft nylon bristles that are gentle on hard floors and can pick up fine dust and debris.
The Digital Motorbar cleaning head employs a bristle brush roll, which allows you to dig deep into carpets and pull out all the dirt and debris. It is equipped with a high-performance motor that is capable of spinning up to 25,000 RPM, providing powerful suction to pick up dirt, dust, and debris from all types of surfaces. This one can do a great job on both hardwood and carpet flooring without changing another nozzle.
The AEG ULTIMATE 8000 also comes with two cleaning heads that are similar in structure and function to that of the Dyson V15. The Ultimate Power Hard Floor nozzle also features a soft brush tool that efficiently picks up everything from fine dust to pebble-sized debris in one swipe as well as gently polishes the floor.
However, the Laser Slim Fluffy cleaning head has a lower profile, more compact, so it’s easier to get into tight spaces and clean along edges and corners. A small downside of the Laser Slim Fluffy and the Ultimate Power Hard Floor nozzle is that they often scatter large amounts of debris around.
On the other hand, the Digital Motorbar of the Dyson V15 has gates at the front, which allow the user to adjust to optimize the cleaning performance manually. This allows them to customize the suction power to their specific cleaning needs, making it easy to clean different types of surfaces or switch between cleaning modes. Meanwhile, the multi-surface cleaning head of the AEG ULTIMATE 8000 has no such feature.
Pet hair performance
Talking about the performance of picking up pet hair, these two machines are equivalent. However, the Dyson V15 is somewhat more convenient.
The point that makes the V15 outstanding is the Digital Motorbar cleaning head. This one features a series of vanes that act as a comb to clean all hair from the brush roll. This function ensures that the vacuum cleaner can effectively pick up hair and other debris without getting tangled or requiring manual cleaning.
The multi-surface cleaning head of the AEG ULTIMATE 8000 also features a detangling pedal for the brush roll. However, this function only works for long hair, and short hairs are still stuck on the brush. Therefore, you still need to remove the roller and clean it. Another problem is that pet hair and large debris can get sucked up into the tube, and this is very annoying.

Both the Dyson V15 and the AEG ULTIMATE 8000 are powerful cordless stick vacuum cleaners that offer impressive suction power.
The Dyson V15 is equipped with a powerful motor that provides up to 240 AW (air watts) of suction power in Boost mode. The vacuum cleaner also offers three other power modes – Eco, Auto, and Boost – which provide varying levels of suction power for different cleaning needs.
The AEG ULTIMATE 8000 has a maximum suction power of 150 AW, which is lower than the maximum suction power of the Dyson V15. However, the AEG ULTIMATE 8000 still offers impressive suction power for a cordless stick vacuum cleaner and is capable of effectively cleaning a variety of surfaces.

Both machines are bagless vacuum cleaners. They store the dirt and debris collected in a dirt bin. These bins are easy to empty and clean. They are also made of clear plastic, so you can tell how full the bin is at any time.
Between the Dyson V15 Detect and the AEG ULTIMATE 8000, the Dyson V15 has a larger dirt capacity of 0.76 liters compared to the AEG ULTIMATE 8000’s 0.4 liters. The dust bin of the V15 is not too large, but enough that you don’t need to empty them too often. Meanwhile, the dust container of the AEG is quite small, so in my opinion, it is suitable for smaller apartments.
Regarding convenience, I prefer the design of the Dyson V15’s dirt compartment. Its dirt bin has a point-and-shoot mechanism that allows users to quickly and hygienically empty the dirt and debris directly into the trash without having to touch it.
As for the dirt compartment of the AEG ULTIMATE 8000, it is a bit tricky to release and re-install. In addition, you have to touch the dust a bit when removing the filter “cap” for the bin.
Filtration
Overall, both the Dyson V15 and the AEG ULTIMATE 8000 feature advanced filtration systems that are designed to capture fine dust and allergens.
The Dyson V15 features a whole-machine filtration system that captures 99.99% of particles as small as 0.3 microns, such as dust mites, pollen, pet dander, mold, and more. This system is fully sealed, which ensures that the air cleaner expelled from the vacuum is cleaner than the air that is drawn in. It includes a pre-motor filter and a post-motor filter that work together to capture dust and allergies, making it a great choice for people with allergies or asthma.
The AEG ULTIMATE 8000 features a multi-stage filtration system, which includes a fine dust filter, two pre-filters, and a metal mesh filter. The AEG ULTIMATE 8000’s filters are all designed to be easy to remove and clean.

Secondly, they all feature compact designs with low-profile and rotatable cleaning heads, which allow users to navigate them to vacuum tight spaces or under furniture easily.
In addition, these machines allow users to use them as handheld vacuums for more versatile cleaning. Each vacuum features an array of attachments that can be attached directly to the handheld vacuum or the extension wand, providing additional flexibility for cleaning different surfaces and tight spaces.
The biggest downside in this aspect is their weight. These two machines have approximately the same weight. The Dyson V15 weighs about 6.8 pounds, and the AEG ULTIMATE 8000 weighs about 6.6 pounds. They are slightly heavier than some of the other stick vacuums I’ve reviewed. This may make them more difficult to maneuver for extended periods of time.
Storage
The Dyson V15 Detect comes with a convenient wall-mounted charging dock that can be used to store and charge the vacuum cleaner. The dock can be attached to a wall using screws or adhesive strips (both are included), allowing you to keep the vacuum cleaner off the floor and out of the way when not in use. Besides, you can use two of the vacuum cleaner’s included attachments. This makes it convenient to keep your attachments organized and within reach when you need them.
If you prefer not to use the wall-mounted charging dock, you can also store the Dyson V15 Detect in a closet or other storage space.
The AEG ULTIMATE 8000 features a freestanding station that provides a convenient place to store. This charging station also includes a built-in storage compartment for the vacuum’s attachments.
Noise level
The Dyson V15 Detect is relatively quiet for a vacuum cleaner, with a noise level of around 70 decibels (dB) based on its power settings. This is comparable to the noise level of a typical conversation and should not be too disruptive to most users.
The AEG ULTIMATE 8000 is noisier, with a noise level of around 79 dB. 79 decibels can be compared to the sound of a garbage disposal unit or a busy city street. In its high-power ‘Boost’ mode with the motorized head, the V15 will drop to under 10 minutes if you run it continuously. Thus, you need to work quickly when dealing with stubborn messes.
The battery life of the AEG ULTIMATE 8000 provides up to 60 minutes of run time on its lowest power setting. However, the battery life may be reduced on higher power settings or when using certain attachments. At Normal speed, the machine can run for about 15 minutes with the cleaning head. At High speed, the machine can only run for about 6 minutes.
Charging
The Dyson V15 Detect comes with a wall-mounted charging dock, which provides a convenient place to store and charge the vacuum cleaner. It also comes with a direct charging cable, which can be used to charge the vacuum cleaner’s battery directly from a power source. Both of these charging methods are designed to be simple and convenient and allow you to keep your Dyson V15 charged and ready to use whenever you need it.
Alternatively, you can detach its removable battery and charge it separately.
To charge the AEG ULTIMATE 8000, you need to attach the charging dock to the wall first, next to an outlet. Then you need to connect the charging dock to the outlet via a charging cable. Finally, attach the machine to the dock. You cannot plug the charging cable directly into the device.
