Vax Blade 4 vs Dyson V15: Which one is the best bang for the buck? The short answer is the second one.
The Dyson V15 is an ideal option for those prioritizing deep-cleaning carpets. But it also performs very well on bare floors and can fulfill a multitude of cleaning purposes thanks to its great set of attachments. The only con is that it’s costly, making it only suitable for people with very deep pockets.
The Vax Blade 4 is just ideal for cleaning hard floors. So if you are looking for something for deep cleaning carpets, it is a waste of money. The other minus points are it is very noisy, and its battery life is on the short side.

Vax Blade 4 vs Dyson V15: Differences
The Dyson V15 overwhelmed the Vax Blade 4 with a score of 4-0. It excels in cleaning performance (both on hard floors and carpets), battery life, quietness, and more.
Cleaning Performance
Winner: Dyson V15
In boost mode, the Blade 4’s suction was very powerful. It could remove about 88% of the flour from my short pile carpet and 96% from my hard floors. Its brush roller can be set to remain static to ensure hard floors aren’t damaged while vacuuming.
I found the Vax Blade 4 struggled a bit more with larger debris. In addition, it was almost useless on my high-pile carpets, and using the boost mode just made it struggle more on this type of surface. So the Vax Blade 4 is, no doubt, a really good option for hard floors and “normal” carpets.
What about the Dyson V15?
Thankfully, I was over the moon about how excellent the Dyson V15 performed on both my floors and carpets. It comes with two different cleaning heads that are specifically designed for cleaning hard floors and carpets, and I couldn’t believe my eyes when it left nothing behind after a single pass, which is something that extremely few stick vacuums can do.
Better yet, there was a small amount of hair stuck in the Dyson V15’s floorheads (the Laser Slim Fluffy and High Torque 2.0 floorheads). But this wasn’t the case with the Vax Blade 4.
The Vax Blade 4 isn’t ideal for anyone with long hair, especially hair with curls since the rotating brush will be choked up quickly with hair strands. It’s a breeze to detach the roller and cut and pull off the hair with a knife or a pair of scissors, but this is a nuisance that isn’t there with the Dyson V15.

Dimensions And Storage
The dimensions of the Vax Blade 4 are 44.9 x 9.4 x 7.3 inches, while the Dyson V15 is slightly taller at 49.6 x 10.5 x 9.8 inches. Like most cordless stick vacuums, the Vax Blade 4 vs Dyson V15 are top-heavy and come with a wall bracket for storage. You can also have the machine lean against a wall or lie flat on the ground.
The Vax Blade 4 doesn’t have room for any attachments, and neither does its wall bracket. And unlike the Dyson V15, the bracket and the charging dock are completely separate.
Meanwhile, combined with a wand clip, the Dyson V15 can store two attachments on board, while its charging station has room for two other attachments. Although you still need to look elsewhere for the rest of the attachments, half a loaf is better than none.
Weight And Maneuverability
Weight is among the very important factors that you should consider when buying a cordless vacuum. Manufacturers are putting a lot of effort into making their vacuums as light as possible without sacrificing performance and utility.
Weight-wise, the Vax Blade 4 and Dyson V15 are pretty comparable at 6.83 and 6.8 pounds, respectively. These machines are fairly lightweight, but they are certainly not the lightest ones.
Sometimes a little heavier vacuum can be a pro. For example, a heavier vacuum produces a more downward force on the floor or carpet when vacuuming. This results in more friction and drags between the surface and the roller, which lifts more dirt and ends up with a cleaner floor.
The Vax Blade 4’s brushbar has a screw hinge attached to it, allowing it to move in various directions. It’s not really as flexible as the ball joint of the Dyson vacuum, but it is hard to tell the difference.
Battery Life
The Vax Blade 4 vs. Dyson V15 are powered by a 4.0 Ah lithium-ion battery and a 3600 mAh seven-cell battery, respectively. They are promised to last up to 45 minutes and 60 minutes of use between full charges, respectively, which sounds very good indeed. So what is the truth?

As you can see, it appears that the promised battery life only corresponds to the vacuuming mode, where the machine produces the least amount of suction. If the boost mode is activated, the device will run out of battery much faster than expected.
The batteries for both are fully removable and can be charged independently, so it is wise to buy additional batteries. That way, you can keep cleaning with a full battery while the other gets recharged.
Dust Cup Capacity And Filter
Winner: Dyson V15
How the Vax Blade 4’s dust cup is positioned is so special. Specifically, it is positioned horizontally instead of vertically, like that of the Dyson V15 and most other sticks. It has a capacity of 0.6 liters and is removable, and emptying it is very easy. If the cup is quite full, you may have to take some out by hand since debris sometimes sticks to the sides,
The Dyson V15’s dust chamber can hold up to 0.75 liters of stuff, and emptying it is also a cinch. Simply take away the wand, slide the lever on the side of the cup, and wait until gravity pulls everything into the garbage can below.
Unlike the Dyson V15, the Vax Blade 4 has no HEPA filter, but it features three stages of filtration that remove particles as small as 0.3 microns, just like its HEPA-certified counterparts.

Noise
On the standard power setting with the brush roller turned on, I measured the Vax Blade 4’s noise at 78.8 dB. Then, with the turbo power turned on, this noise level grew to 83.1 dB. This noise level is generally somewhat annoying.
In terms of noise, the Dyson V15’s noise level ranged from 71 to 76 dB, which is slightly less loud than the Vax Blade 4. This level is similar to that of a shower running.
Display
The Dyson V15 sports a nice, high-resolution LCD screen. It displays the current cleaning mode, battery life, issues with the filter, and how many and what size dust particles the machine picks up (thanks to a sensor). I am unsure how accurate the particle data is, but either way, it is a nice-to-have feature.
The Vax Blade 4 has no display screen at all. Instead, there are four LEDs on the front of the handle that indicates the remaining battery level.
Headlights
There are some LED bulbs on the powered floorhead of the Vax Blade 4 that illuminate the areas you’re cleaning. You never know how much you love them until you have to work in dimly lit areas.
Among the two floorheads of the Dyson V15, only the Laser Slim Fluffy head is equipped with a laser headlight, which in my opinion, does a better job of making dust and dirt more visible.
