TINECO, which is a subsidiary of Ecovacs Robotics, is a trailblazing brand at the forefront of inventing advanced technologies and methodologies for top-tier smart home appliances, including vacuum cleaners. Up until now, most of their cordless stick vacuums have been selling well and garnering a boatload of glowing reviews on e-commerce giants like Amazon. Today, I will put the Tineco Pure One S11 vs Pure One X, which are solid contenders from their mid-range lineup, into a head-to-head comparison.

The Tineco Pure One S11 is a versatile cord-free stick vacuum that has many features and add-ons, enabling it to adapt to various scenarios. I am also very impressed with its possibility to connect with my smartphone, although many consider it superfluous.

I found the Tineco Pure One X quite similar to the Pure One S11, save for its smaller dust reservoir and the absence of a high-tech display. These differences contribute to its markedly lower price point, making it a more budget-friendly option.

Tineco Pure One S11 Vs Pure One X: Differences

The Tineco Pure One S11 vs Pure One X are almost identical with just a few minor differences: the dustbin of the first one is larger, and it has a high-tech digital screen.

The Tineco Pure One S11’s dustbin holds up to 0.5 liters of dirt, doubling the capacity of the Pure One X’s modest 0.25-liter dirt reservoir. Within the realm of stick vacuums, any dust cup holding less than three liters is seen as on the smaller side, necessitating frequent emptying during the course of a vacuuming session. Emptying them is the same: simply push a release button, and the bottom hatch swings open, letting the gathered dirt easily fall out.

Another thing that the Pure One S11 has over the Pure One X is that it has a large digital screen perched on top. This screen sends notifications about Wi-Fi connectivity, brush roller entanglements, air channel blockage, and dust sensor malfunctions, keeping you in the loop at all times. This is a welcome addition, but it would be better if this screen showed battery life.

The cherry on top of the Pure One S11’s display is a dust indicator loop, which adapts its color to reflect the density of the dust. This feature impressed me greatly, as it could tell me whether a particular area is dust-free. It provides the same kind of feedback as the Dyson V15‘s LCD screen, which displays the precise size and quantity of vacuumed dust particles.

The Pure One X also has a dust indicator loop, but it’s neatly located around the auto/max button. This one has no fancy screen at all.

Tineco Pure One S11 vs Pure One X: Similarities

Cleaning Performance

The Tineco Pure One S11 vs Pure One X share two floorheads, one dedicated to hard floors and another designed for carpets: an LED soft-roller power brush (hard floor cleaning head) and an LED multi-tasker power brush (carpet cleaning head). These nozzles have LED headlights, as their name implies, which are a useful addition for vacuuming in tight spaces like under furniture or in corners where your ceiling lights can’t reach.

I was really impressed with their performance on hard floors. With the soft-roller power brush attached, they can easily handle any debris, including large ones. It is worth noting that, depending on your chosen version, you may or may not receive this soft roller. Mine are the Pure One S11 Tango and the Pure One X Tango.

On my low-pile carpet, I used the multi-tasker power brush, and these machines also easily removed all the large debris and left just 1-2% of the smaller particles behind. Upon testing it on the high-pile carpet, the amount of small debris left increased to about 5%, but even so, this is still an impressive outcome for mid-tier stick vacuums.

During the hair test, these machines effortlessly scooped up all the hair and fur littering my floors and carpets, but there was a decent amount of long hair that got tangled on their rollers, necessitating a bit of untangling post-test. That said, they are not ideal choices for households with pets.

Tineco Pure One S11 Vs Pure One X’s attachments

The Tineco Pure One S11 vs Pure One X share one of the richest attachment sets I’ve encountered, ensuring I always had the right tool for the job at hand during my cleaning tasks. It would be better if they included a second battery, like the Tineco A11 Master, but you can always buy it separately if needed.

When it comes to charging and storing the vacuum, you’ll have to put it on a wall dock that conveniently accommodates three accessories and an additional battery. Unlike the Dyson V15, their battery doesn’t have the capacity to charge independently by directly connecting the charger to it. It appears that mounting the charging dock to the wall is the sole method for powering up these vacuums – That’s bad news for those who are against drilling into walls.

Weight & Maneuverability

Tineco Pure One S11 vs Pure One X weight 5.7 pounds and 5.11 pounds, respectively. They were very light and felt comfortable in my hand. When converted into the handheld configuration, they weigh in at approximately 3.5 pounds, and I could clean an entire ceiling without feeling the least bit weary or strained.

Their heads turn easily enough with a twist of the wrist, but they don’t turn very sharply and can’t turn at the right angle like Dyson models. Additionally, I noticed that their floorheads tend to lift off the floor when laid completely flat, making it slightly challenging to reach further under low-clearance tables.

Battery Life

Both the Tineco Pure One S11 vs Pure One X are advertised to provide a continuous runtime of 40 minutes. But the stated 40-minute runtime can only be achieved when the vacuum is utilized at the lowest power setting and in conjunction with non-motorized attachments or tools. But, in real-world usage, the floorhead is often the primary tool used, which reduces the overall runtime.

Maximum battery life≈  29 mins≈ 27 mins
Minimum battery life≈  11 mins≈ 9 mins
Charging Time≈ 3.5 hours≈ 3.5 hours

In max power mode, these models consume battery power rapidly. Therefore, it is highly recommended to have an extra battery on hand. It is worth noting that only one battery is included with the purchase, and the additional battery needs to be purchased separately. Their charging station has a slot for a second battery, so you’ll get two fully charged batteries with no double charging time.

Filtration System

Another thing the Tineco Pure One S11 vs Pure One X have in common is a filtration system that includes two filters: a pre-motor filter and a post-motor HEPA filter. The first filter is inside the dustbin and should be cleaned with the pre-filter cleaning attachment after each use. Meanwhile, the HEPA filter is inserted in the back of the handheld part and should be washed under the tap at least once a month.

Utilities

On/Off Control

Numerous Dyson users have expressed grievances about the requirement to continuously hold down the trigger for power, which leads to rapid fatigue in the hands and wrists. So by providing a trigger lock on its products, Tineco has solved this problem. This option can lock the trigger in place, eliminating the need to continuously depress it throughout the cleaning session – those with weak hands or wearing power will appreciate this design.

App Connectivity

Last but not least, these machines can connect to a smartphone via a dedicated app. And if you don’t mind having your phone in hand while vacuuming, this feature will surely be a delight. It allows you to monitor the status of the battery, filter, and dustbin on your own phone. Better yet, you can also manually adjust the vacuum suction,  giving you control beyond the default auto and max modes.
