Tineco Pure One S11 vs Dyson V8 Origin: I believe the first one edges out slightly and is the better option overall.
The Tineco Pure One S11 is a formidable mid-range stick vacuum cleaner. It has a rich set of attachments, an advanced LED display and can automatically adjust its suction based on the dust density. These characteristics elevate the Pure One S11’s value and make it an impressive choice within its price range.
Despite not being the most powerful cordless vacuum available, the Dyson V8 strikes an excellent balance between ergonomics, power, and price. If you are a diehard fan of the Dyson brand that doesn’t want to invest a significant amount of money in the latest models, just get this one.

Tineco Pure One S11 vs Dyson V8 Origin: Differences
Tineco Pure One S11 wins 2-0 and ties twice against the Dyson V8 Origin. This article will highlight both the strengths and shortcomings of each model. Let’s get into the detail!
Cleaning Performance
Winner: Tie
Suction Power & Floorhead
The Dyson V8’s maximum suction power is 115 Air Watts (AW), far behind the latest Dyson sticks, such as the Dyson V11 (185 AW), V12 (150 AW), or V15 (230 AW). Meanwhile, the Tineco Pure One S11 exhibits a slightly higher maximum suction power at 130 AW.
Both the Tineco Pure One S11 vs Dyson V8 Origin come out of the box with a floorhead that is suitable for various surfaces. But if you desire a soft roller designed for hard floors, you would need to consider the Pure One S11 Tango or the Dyson V8 Absolute models.
Hard Floor
As anticipated, both the Tineco Pure One S11 and Dyson V8 Origin performed admirably in capturing fine and small debris on this type of surface. However, they encountered some difficulty regarding larger debris, as the clearance of their floorheads wasn’t high enough to sweep over such debris. As a result, a significant amount of bulky debris was pushed forward and around rather than being effectively collected.
Carpet
During the carpet tests, both the Tineco Pure One S11 and Dyson V8 Origin exhibited improved performance.
The Pure One S11 could capture almost all types and sizes of debris on my carpets. Only a negligible percentage of the small debris (approximately 1%) was splashed forward, which was subsequently completely collected on the second pass.
Likewise, the Dyson V8 also passed my tests with flying colors. It easily picked up about 99% of large debris and approximately 97% of smaller ones in the initial pass, with the remaining fraction requiring an additional pass for complete removal.
Design & Usability

Attachments & Storage
Tineco Pure One S11 | Dyson V8 Origin |
---|---|
LED Multi-tasker Power Brush Mini power brush 2-in-1 dusting brush Crevice tool Pre-Filter Cleaning Tool + Pre-Filter Hair cleaning tool Dual Wall-mounted dock & Adaptor Removable battery (x1) | Motorbar cleaner head Crevice tool Combination tool Docking station & Charger Removable battery (x1) |
The Pure One S11, like many other stick vacuums, includes a wall mount. By securely attaching the mount to a wall near an electrical outlet and connecting the adapter, you will have a tidy and accessible spot to store and recharge the vacuum. This setup helps keep the vacuum organized and keeps it out of the reach of your pets or children. It only has room for three attachments, so you’ll need to find a safe place to put the rest.
The Dyson V8 also comes with a wall-mounted charging station that can hold the vacuum and two attachments. Unlike the Pure One S11, you can jack in the charger directly into the handheld part to juice up the battery, which is a real game-changer for those who want to avoid drilling into their walls.
Weight & Maneuverability
When fully assembled, the Tineco Pure One S11 vs Dyson V8 Origin tip the scales at 5.7 and 5.8 pounds, respectively – there’s hardly a hair’s breadth difference between their weights. They are among the lightest stick vacuums I’ve tested, which is a big plus for the elderly or those who are physically weak. In terms of maneuverability, I found the Pure One S11 not to swivel as well as the Dyson V8, but the difference is negligible.
Carrying these machines up and down the stairs is a pain-free task. In the handheld configuration, they’re as light as a feather and super compact (under 4 pounds), and I could keep them sky-high to clean ceilings and overhead spots without breaking a sweat or feeling pain in my wrist.
Battery Life
The Tineco Pure One S11 vs Dyson V8 Origin shares the quoted battery life of up to 40 minutes, provided they are used with a non-motorized toll on the lowest power mode. I put each of them to the test with the floorhead attached, and here are the findings from my experiment.
Tineco Pure One S11 | Dyson V8 Origin | |
---|---|---|
Maximum Battery Life | ≈ 29 mins | ≈ 25 mins |
Minimum Battery Life | ≈ 11 mins | ≈ 7 mins |
Charging Time | ≈ 3.5 hours | ≈ 5 hours |
The Tineco Pure One S11 uses a detachable 2,500 mAh lithium-ion battery. So you can double its run times by spending money on a second battery. When the juice in the current battery runs out, just yank it out, slap in a fresh one, and you will be back in your cleaning task without downtime.
Unfortunately, the Dyson V8 uses a screw-in 2800mAh battery, which is not designed to be removed and swapped. For a cordless vacuum, this limitation is a real fly in the ointment. Thankfully, Dyson engineers have applied click-in batteries to newer models to facilitate extending their runtime.
Dustbin & Filtration System
Winner: Tie
The Dyson V8 features a 0.5-liter dustbin, and I was impressed with how convenient and easy it was to empty this: just pull a lever on top, and all the dirt will be pushed out. This mechanism is a step up from the Dyson V6, which merely relied on a trapdoor and the law of gravity for dustbin emptying.
The Tineco Pure One S11’s dustbin also has a half-liter capacity, and emptying it is a breeze with a simple push of a button. The only minor annoyance I encountered was having to use my fingers a few times to dislodge hair or dust trapped inside.
The Dyson V8 features a fully sealed HEPA filtration system, ensuring all the vacuumed air is passed through the HEPA filter (which can trap dust mites, tobacco smoke, pollen, pet dander, mold spores, etc from the air) before it is released back into y our living space. In fact, the combination of a sealed system and HEPA filter is a top priority for individuals with severe allergies when it comes to choosing a vacuum cleaner. The HEPA filter is washable and can be reused many times.
The Tineco Pure One S11 also sports a sealed filtration system which includes a pre-motor filter and a post-motor (HEPA grade) filter. The pre-motor filter can be effortlessly cleaned without getting your hands dirty, thanks to the pre-filter cleaning tool that harnesses the vacuum’s suction power to whisk away all the accumulated dust and dirt. As for the HEPA filter, just wash it under the tap.
Utilities & Other Features
Winner: Tineco Pure One S11
Digital Display
The Tineco Pure One S11 has a high-tech circular LED screen that sits on top of the handheld part, which will alert if the air channel is blocked, the roller is tangled, the dust sensor needs to be cleaned, and if the wifi is connected.
The star feature of this LED screen is its color-changing loop, which can automatically change color based on the real-time dust density detected by the iLoop sensor. This intelligent sensor also automatically adjusts the vacuum’s suction (when in auto mode) for optimal performance, akin to the piezo sensor found in the Dyson V12.
The only downside of this display is that it doesn’t indicate the battery level. Instead, this task is delegated to three small LEDs situated on the battery, similar to the Dyson V8.
Control Method
Both the Tineco Pure One S11 vs Dyson V8 Origin share a power trigger to activate the vacuum. However, the former gains an advantage with its trigger lock feature, which frees your index finger from constantly holding down the trigger. It’s an absolute game-changer, especially for individuals with weak hands or those who wear jewelry.
App Connectivity
The Pure One S11 can be connected to a smartphone via the Tineco app, making it a perfect addition to any smart home. I found it quite handy, although I don’t like carrying a phone around while vacuuming. This app displays battery life, filter condition, and dustbin status. Better yet, it allows you to fine-tune the vacuum’s suction to your liking, in addition to two basic settings: “Max” and “Auto.”
LED Headlights
There are several LED bulbs on the Pure One S11’s floorhead, which makes dust and dirt on the floor more visible. They are useful when vacuuming under furniture, in hard-to-reach places, and anywhere your ceiling lights don’t reach. It’s rather puzzling how numerous pricey models, such as the Dyson V8, miss out on incorporating this essential feature.
