It’s no exaggeration to say that Dyson is the king of cordless stick vacuums. Their machines have many selling points, but they are quite expensive. So if you’re after a more affordable option, my comparison of the Tineco A11 vs Tineco S11 has got you covered. These machines are less well-known but are cheaper alternatives that can still compete well with the many models available out there.
Although the Tineco S11 is a mid-range model, it has the bells and whistles of high-end vacuums: the ability to automatically adjust suction, a dust indicator, a handy LED display, and app connectivity. Maybe this model is the only exception to the “you get what you pay for” rule.
The Tineco A11 Master is really a bargain considering its low price, cleaning performance, and wide range of accessories. I bet anyone who is on a tight budget and looking for a lightweight and powerful stick vacuum will be impressed with everything this model brings to the table.

Tineco A11 Vs Tineco S11: Differences
I call this comparison a tie. They are neck and neck regarding cleaning performance, but the A11 comes with more attachments, including two filters, while the S11 has many special features.
Cleaning Performance
Winner: Tie
Suction Power And Floorhead
The Tineco A11 Master has three power modes: I, II, and Max, and with the Max mode enabled, the vacuum maxes out at 120 AW. The Tineco S11, on the other hand, has two vacuum settings: auto and max, and its suction peaks at 140 AW. I love this auto feature since it can automatically adjust suction power based on the amount of dirt/debris. I have also seen it on the Dyson V15 or V12.
When I unboxed these two machines, I was also immediately impressed with them because two types of floorheads came out of the box: a soft roller and a multi-surface roller: The first one is engineered for cleaning hard floors, while the second one is best on carpets. Better yet, both are equipped with LED headlights, one of the features that are often considered redundant (but it isn’t).
Hard Floor
Both the Tineco A11 vs Tineco S11 worked excellently on my hard floors, although they are just average cordless vacuums. They could easily collect debris of all sizes with ease, including the larger ones, which the Tineco A11 Hero just pushed around (since it has no soft roller). The LED headlights really lit everything, making it easy for me to detect small debris under my furniture.
Carpet
The score on my carpets again was impressive for vacuums at a mid-range price point. The average removal rate is up to 98%, – higher than that of the Dyson V8, which is more expensive. The only problem was that they spat a small amount of debris onto the surface when I turned them off.
Hair Removal
As vacuums lack anti-tangle technology, it is no surprise that these machines couldn’t send all the hair into their dustbins. At the end of the day, there was a small amount of long hair wrapped around the roller. Fortunately, it’s easy to detach the brush roll from the floorhead (using a coin) and use a pair of scissors or the included hair-cleaning tool to untangle it.

Similar to most other cordless vacuums, both the Tineco A11 vs Tineco S11 come with wall-mounted chargers. There is no way to charge the battery other than to park the vacuum in this wall charger or place the battery in the slot for a spare battery. I wish I could attach the charger directly to the battery, as I did with the Dyson vacuum.
This wall-mounted rack is quite similar to that of the Dyson vacuum, except that it can keep three attachments neat and organized and has a slot for the additional battery. So it can do what Dyson’s wall charger can’t: charge two batteries simultaneously. But it’s a shame that there is no onboard storage for add-on tools.
If you’re uncomfortable with drilling into your wall, consider purchasing the “Powerhouse” accessory holder separately, which is basically a self-standing charging dock. It also has room for a spare battery and can house three attachments. Unlike the Samsung Jet 90’s self-standing charging station, it is quite low profile, and I had to remove the handheld part from the wand for storing/charging.
Weight And Maneuverability
The Tineco A11 vs Tineco S11 are lightweight vacuums, weighing 5.4 and 5.7 pounds, respectively. They are lighter than most stick vacuums, and maneuvering them is very easy. Their light bodies, combined with a huge range of accessories, make cleaning hard-to-reach areas a breeze.
The versatility of these sticks doesn’t just end with their weight. It is possible to detach the wand and mount one of the included tools to turn them into handheld units.
Battery Life

---|---|---|
Battery Life | Min mode: ≈ 32.5 mins | Auto mode: ≈ 34-45mins |
Max mode: ≈ 7 mins | Highest mode: ≈ 11 mins | |
Charging Time | ≈ 210 mins | ≈ 200 mins |
Lithium-ion batteries require no priming or maintenance while delivering high energy density, which is why manufacturers and users like them. Both Tineco A11 vs Tineco S11 use these removable and swappable batteries, so having two batteries in hand can extend the running time of the vacuum.
Since the Tineco comes with two batteries, I have never had to stop during the vacuuming cycle and could clean my whole house in one go. And as mentioned above, its wall-mounted charging dock can charge two batteries simultaneously (one is installed in the vacuum, and one is placed on the top of the dock).
Likewise, the Tineco S11’s wall mount also has room for an additional battery, but you’ll need to purchase it separately. The extra battery is available on both Tineco’s website and Amazon.
Utilities
Winner: Tineco S11
Dust Sensor And Auto Mode
The Tineco S11 features a debris sensor that automatically adjusts the vacuum’s suction power based on the actual density of dust and debris (when auto mode is enabled). This feature is typically only available on exorbitantly expensive models like the Dyson V15 and V12. So equipping the mid-range model with this feature is really a steal!
Display Screen And App Connectivity
There is a large LED screen on the top of the handheld part, which will notify users when the roller or filter is clogged, the dust sensor needs maintenance, or the vacuum is connected to WiFi. The most interesting part is the dust indicator – a circular border around the screen that can change color depending on the density of dust and debris.
It can also connect to a smartphone via WiFi. Through the app, I could set the unit’s suction, monitor the dust amount, working hours and status, the filter status, and the battery charge.
Tineco A11 vs Tineco S11: Similarities
Dustbin And Filter System
The Tineco A11 vs Tineco S11 share a 0.6-liter transparent dustbin, which is super-easy to empty. Just press a quick-release button and send all the contents into oblivion – no contact with the dirt and no mess around the trash can!
Both can be removed completely from the handheld unit, but while the A11’s dust tank is cleanable, I recommend avoiding getting the S11’s canister wet since it contains a dust sensor – just wipe it with a not-too-damp towel.
Another thing these machines have in common is a fully-sealed system, which ensures all the dirt and allergens stay inside the unit and only non-allergenic air goes back outside.
The filter system includes a pre-filter and a post-motor (HEPA) filter, and they are both washable and can be rinsed under tap water to prevent suction power from decreasing over time. But there is also a pre-filter cleaning attachment that can be used to clean the pre-filter within a few seconds without using hands.
Trigger Lock
The trigger lock is a very useful feature since it solves the big issue of most Dyson’s cordless vacuums – keep the trigger pressed the entire time when vacuuming. That way, my cleaning work was effortless since I didn’t worry about powering the vacuum and just focused on maneuvering the floorhead instead and switching between power modes.
Dyson also seems to have realized the inconvenience of holding the trigger continuously, so they replaced it with a physical button in the latest model – the Dyson V12. But, to my mind, they turned a big issue into a less serious one – The power button was located in an awkward position, and I had to use my second hand to turn the vacuum on and off. Hey Dyson engineers! Just apply the trigger lock feature to your next models!
