In today’s post, I will compare two different cord-free stick vacuums at two different price ranges, the Tineco A11 vs Dyson V15. So which one is better?
Honestly, this is an apples-to-oranges comparison since the Tineco A11 is Tineco’s mid-priced vacuum, whereas the Dyson V15 is Dyson’s premium option. It’s no surprise that the Dyson V15 is the overall winner, but that doesn’t mean the Tineco A11 is bad.

Tineco A11 Vs Dyson V15: Differences
The Dyson V15 wins 2-1 and ties once against the Tineco A11. The Dyson V15 is a high-end vacuum with the latest punches from Dyson, such as the High Torque 2.0 cleaning head, the Laser Slim Fluffy floorhead, the onboard piezo sensor, and more. Combined with the inherent pros of Dyson cordless vacuums, we have an unbeatable stick vacuum.
Cleaning Performance
Winner: Dyson V15
Suction Power And Floorhead
At the maximum power setting, the Tineco A11 Master produces maximum suction of 120 AW, while the Dyson V15 peaks at 230 AW. As of now, the V15 is the Dyson vacuum with the strongest suction and the strongest cord-free vacuum I have tested. The latest version of the line, the Dyson V12, turns out to have a weaker peak suction power than the Dyson V11 at 150 AW.
Honestly, one of the things I wish I got when I unboxed a stick vacuum were a soft roller and a multi-surface roller. And fortunately, both the Tineco A11 vs Dyson V15 come out of the box with two floorheads.

Hard Floor
The Tineco A11 also performed great on my hard floors, leaving nothing behind. It also has LED headlights to keep the cleaning path illuminated to ensure nothing is missed in the dark area.
Likewise, the Dyson V15’s Laser Slim Fluffy floorhead was redesigned from the floorhead of previous versions. The soft roller has a smaller diameter, and I found it easier to push around. And as expected, this roller made it easy for the V15 to pick up debris of all sizes from my hard floor.
The Laser Slim Fluffy floorhead, as its name suggests, is equipped with a green laser headlight, which makes it a lot easier for me to capture dust under my furniture. I personally found it more useful than any LED headlight.
Carpet
On my carpet, I used the Dyson V15 in auto mode and found it very effective – it easily picked up all the large debris and left a minor amount of fine debris. The technology behind this auto mode is the onboard piezo sensor, which can detect the size and count of debris particles. This information will be translated to the floorhead, and suction power will automatically adjust to better suit cleaning conditions.
So far, the Dyson V15 and V12 are the only two Dyson cordless vacuums equipped with this sensor. Thanks to the auto mode, I didn’t need trial and error to find the right suction power for my carpets. Don’t confuse it with the dynamic load sensor on the Dyson V11, which automatically adjusts the suction according to the surface type.
As for the Tineco A11, it had no problem collecting small and medium debris. But this model struggled a bit with larger debris since its multi-surface floorhead doesn’t have adjustable gates like that of the Dyson V15.
Hair Wrap
Both the Tineco A11 vs Dyson V15 could pick up all the hair on my hard floors and carpets, but the hair wrap issue is the deciding factor between them in this category. The Dyson V15 is equipped with anti-hair wrap technology – this is a row of polycarbonate teeth that act to remove hair from the roller. It wasn’t perfect, but it was more effective at minimizing tangles than models that had no anti-tangle technology, such as the Tineco A11.

The Dyson V15 comes with a wall-mounted storage rack. It doesn’t have room for all the accessories and can’t charge two batteries simultaneously. And as a person who is against drilling into walls, I always give props to self-standing charging stations. Fortunately, Dyson also offers a self-standing charging station for their stick vacuums, but it needs to be purchased separately.
The Tineco A11’s wall charging station can also store and charge the main cordless vacuum simultaneously, but it is better with a slot for an extra battery and room for three suction-only attachments. There isn’t enough space for the mini power brush, the filter cleaning tool, and the extra filter, so they must be stored elsewhere. In my opinion, the need to drill holes in the wall is a minor minus. Of course, that is purely subjective!
Weight And Maneuverability
The Tineco A11 is significantly lighter than the V15. The entire A11 unit weighs 5.4 pounds, while the V15 weighs 6.8 pounds. A difference of 14 pounds doesn’t sound like much on paper, but it is a significant difference when using a stick vacuum. But overall, both machines feel like toys in my hands.
The Dyson V15 can lie completely flat on the ground, but the Tineco A11 can’t, so the first one could go further under most of my table. Both can be used as portable handheld vacuums, making it easier to clean above my head, such as ceilings.
Battery Life
Tineco A11 Master | Dyson V15 | |
---|---|---|
Battery Life | Min mode: ≈ 32.5 mins | Eco mode: 71 mins |
Auto mode: ≈ 34 mins | ||
Max mode: ≈ 7 mins | Boost mode: ≈ 8 mins | |
Charging Time | ≈ 3.5 hours | ≈ 3.9 hours |
The V15 uses a 3600 mAh seven-cell battery, which is the latest and largest battery technology from Dyson. The Tineco A11 is powered by a 2,500 mAh Li-ion battery, which runs out of juice faster, but it comes with two batteries.
The V15 uses a click-in battery. Like the Tineco A1’s interchangeable battery, charging it up and swapping it out is as easy as pie. It is possible to plug the charger directly into the battery to charge it without being attached to the handheld unit. But the small downside is that the extra battery must be purchased separately, and the charging station has no slot for it.
Dustbin And Filtration System
Winner: Tie
The Tineco A11 features a 0.6-liter dustbin. Emptying it is easy with a one-touch emptying process: pull the cup off the handheld unit and press a release button to open the bottom door to let all the contents out.
The Dyson V15’s dust cup, on the other hand, has a larger capacity of 0.75 liters, and emptying it, in my opinion, is easier with the “point and shoot” mechanism: grasp a red lever on the side and push it down.
The Tineco A11 has a sealed system with pre-motor and post-motor (HEPA) filters. The pre-filter cleaning tool, which comes with a spare filter, can be used to wash the pre-filter: after inserting this filter in the tool, put the spare one into the vacuum, and turn it on with full power to suck out all the dust (click here for the video). The HEPA filter is larger and snaps out the back of the handheld part, and it can be washed under running water. They can be reused many times but must be replaced with new filters one day.
The Dyson V15 also has a sealed system with a HEPA filter. Its HEPA filter, which is located on the back of the handheld unit, is washable but will also need to be replaced after many reuses.
Utilities
Winner: Dyson V15
Display Screen
This one’s an easy comparison since the Tineco has no screen at all. Dyson has equipped their cordless vacuums with displays since the Dyson V11, excluding the V11 Animal.
The Dyson V15’s LCD screen is a real bonus since it allows you to monitor many aspects of the device easily. Here is some helpful information it can give you: the current cleaning mode, estimated remaining battery life, maintenance alerts, and particulate data.
As mentioned above, the Dyson V15 has an onboard piezo sensor that can determine the size and count of vacuumed dust particles. The screen can display this data in a graph consisting of four columns corresponding to four sizes: 10, 60, 180, and 500 microns. Without it, I would never know how dirty my house is.
On/Off Control
The V15 is powered by a trigger: Keep the trigger pressed to power the vacuum, and whenever I let it go, the machine will turn off. Dyson states that this mechanism can save battery, and they’re not exaggerating. This trigger gave me more control over power usage, which is great for battery optimization. But after about half an hour, my finger and wrist got tired, forcing me to change my hand or grip position.
The Tineco A11 Master, on the other hand, also uses a trigger but is equipped with a trigger lock feature. This feature allowed me to turn the vacuum on and not have to worry about it until I turned it off, minimizing finger fatigue from continuously keeping the trigger down.
