Tineco A11 Hero EX vs Tango: Tineco is a venerable player in the vacuuming industry, particularly in the cordless stick vacuum area. They’ve carved out a niche for themselves by consistently introducing high-performance, budget-friendly machines that come decked out with various accessories. That’s why budget-oriented users have Tineco in their sights instead of shelling out big bucks for Dyson models.
One of the brand’s top-selling models is the Tineco A11 Hero, which is a balance between price and bells and whistles. This model is available in several variants, and the focus of this article is on comparing the Hero EX and Tango versions. So let’s delve into the details!
Tineco A11 Hero EX Vs Tango: Comparison Chart
Tineco A11 Hero EX Vs Tango: Differences
The key distinction between them is that the EX version throws in an additional battery, while the Tango version comes equipped with a soft roller, dubbed the LED Multi-tasker power brush. Let’s see what these two models bring to the table.
Tineco A11 Hero EX | Tineco A11 Tango | |
---|---|---|
LED Multi-tasker Power Brush | Yes | Yes |
LED Soft-roller Power Brush | No | Yes |
Mini power brush | Yes | Yes |
2-in-1 Dusting brush | Yes | Yes |
Crevice tool | Yes | Yes |
Pre-Filter Cleaning Tool | Yes | Yes |
Pre-Filter | Yes | Yes |
Hair Cleaning Tool | Yes | Yes |
Wall-mounted dock | Yes | Yes |
Adaptor | Yes | Yes |
Removal battery | 2 | 1 |
A significant plus of models with removable batteries is the ability to boost the runtime by switching out batteries. Thus, with two 2500 mAh Li-ion batteries in the box, the A11 Hero EX holds the ace in terms of battery life compared to the Tango version. Of course, you can level the playing field by buying an extra battery to extend the Tineco A11 Tango’s runtime.
On the other hand, the Tineco A11 Tango, as mentioned earlier, comes with the LED soft-roller power brush, which is a welcome addition to hard floors. My tests showed that it works brilliantly on hard floors – the Tineco A11 Tango easily picked up all the debris, including the larger ones, which gave the Hero EX version a run for its money.
While the Hero EX delivered a sterling performance on carpets with its multi-tasker power brush, the tables were turned when I tested it on my hard floors – This one pushed a large amount of debris around instead of sucking it up.
Tineco A11 Hero EX Vs Tango: Similarities
Weight & Maneuverability
The Tineco A11 is largely built from plastic, giving it a somewhat less robust, cheap demeanor. Tipping the scales at around 5 pounds, this vacuum sits on the lighter end of the stick vacuum spectrum. And, of course, maneuvering it is as easy as pie, although I found it doesn’t swivel as well as Dyson stick vacuums.
The Tineco A11 can also morph into a portable handheld vacuum, perfect for tackling stairs, ceilings, and those tricky out-of-reach spots (with the proper tools). I didn’t encounter any moments where my hand felt weary from using it.
When I tried to lay it completely flat on the ground, its head lifted a bit. So it was a bit difficult for me to go further under the furniture, especially the low-clearance ones.
Battery Life
Tineco asserts that the A11 offers up to 60 minutes of runtime, but I’d wager you’d never hit this optimal battery life. Why? This optimal battery life is only attainable when you use the vacuum with a non-motorized tool and set it to the lowest power level. In reality, this situation is as rare as a hen’s teeth – it hardly ever happens. Instead, we usually use the main nozzle most of the time.
Maximum Battery Life | ≈ 31 mins |
Minimum Battery Life | ≈ 7.5 mins |
Charging Time | ≈ 3.5 hours |
If you constantly use the vacuum with the floorhead, it will use up the battery life as quickly as water in the desert. However, this isn’t a big deal because, as mentioned above, it uses a detachable battery, meaning you can stretch its runtime by simply swapping out the batteries. Depending on your chosen version, you may have to buy a spare battery.
Dustbin & Filtration System
The Tineco A11 boasts a 0.6-liter transparent dust cup, which is neither small nor particularly large. Emptying it is a piece of cake: just press a release button to open the hatch and send all the dirt and dust into oblivion – no dirt on your hands and no mess on the floor! The bin is washable, and you should rinse it occasionally if it becomes really dirty. Just remember to let it thoroughly dry before reattaching it to the vacuum for use.
Now let’s talk about its filtration system. This one features a fully-sealed system, which ensures that unfiltered air cannot escape before going through the four-stage filtering system.
Its filtering system includes a cyclonic, a pre-motor filter, and lastly, a post-motor HEPA filter. Each filter will lock out particles smaller than the previous one until the last stage, where the HEPA filter traps particles as small as 0.3 microns. So this filtration system can confidently trap allergens like pollen, dust mites, and spores, ensuring they remain within the vacuum and out of your living space.
The HEPA filter is washable, and you should wash it under the tap at least once a month. Meanwhile, to clean the pre-motor filter, you’ll need to use the pre-filter cleaning tool, which uses suction from the vacuum to get the job done. Here is how to use it: Stick the pre-motor filter in this tool, put the spare one into the vacuum, and then run the vacuum to clean it. The pre-motor filter is the first line of defense, so it’s often the dirtiest and needs cleaning more frequently- preferably after each use.
Utilities
User Interface & Control Method
The Tineco A11 has no digital screen at all, which is increasingly common for stick vacuums. Instead, there are only three LED lights on the battery that show the battery level.
Like the Dyson V15, you’ll need to press a trigger for power, but you have the option of locking it in place to allow your fingers to rest. This is a great feature since it allows the vacuum to operate continuously without the need to hold the trigger down constantly, significantly reducing hand strain and making prolonged cleaning sessions much more comfortable.
LED Headlights
Absolutely, LED headlights are indeed a valuable addition to a vacuum cleaner. They illuminate the path in front of the vacuum, making it easier to spot dust, debris, and other fine particles. In dimly lit spaces or areas with low visibility, such as underneath sofas or beds, these lights can be a game-changer – they help ensure that no speck of dirt is overlooked during cleaning.
