Shark ZU62 vs NV360: Which One Performs Better

Shark ZU62 vs NV360 – this is a battle between two flagships from Shark. Each has its own pros and cons, but the second one comes out as the winner for good reasons.

The Shark NV360 is a good overall vacuum. It can be used as a semi-handheld vacuum, but it isn’t very portable because of its bulky design.  It is an excellent option for cleaning both small and large debris on any surface, and there are virtually no recurring costs as its filter is washable.

The Shark ZU62 isn’t my most fancy model, but it works well. It has a longer hose, a wider cleaning path, and a bigger dust cup, which is great for vacuuming large areas.

Shark ZU62 vs NV360: Differences

The Shark NV360 beat the ZU62 with a score of 3-2. The former has a better performance on all types of surfaces and can be used as a semi-handheld vacuum to clean hard-to-reach areas. This model is also lighter, making it easier to pick up and carry.

Cleaning Performance

The winner: Shark NV360

Suction Power

The Shark NV360 has a 1200W motor, whereas the Shark ZU62 features a 1150W motor. The first one theoretically produces a stronger attraction, but I’ve found that the difference is negligible. Both allow forgetting about pet hair,  debris, and all other nasty things.

Compatible Floor Type

  • Hard Floor

The Shark NV360 has superb performance on bare floors. It can clear a good amount of small debris like rice and bulkier debris like cereal without hassle. Better yet, its performance remains consistent as its dirt bin fills, which is great when I deal with several large messes. Some small debris can get stuck underneath its floorhead, while its brushroll sometimes scatters a small amount of debris around.

The Shark ZU62 is a decent option for cleaning bare floors. It can clean up so much dust on this type of surface and works well with pet hair. Still, it tends to leave larger debris behind, and I often have to pick them up by hand.

  • Carpet

The Shark NV360 has impressive performance on carpets

The Shark NV360 has impressive performance on carpets. It can gather most fine and large debris, such as sand and baking soda, but you may need to make an extra pass to remove all of it.

As for the Shark ZU62, it does a good job at picking up debris but may leave behind a large amount of pet hair even after doing a few passes. Furthermore, I feel it takes more time to clean my carpet and also harder to push.

Maneuverability

Both the Shark ZU62 vs NV360 have mediocre maneuverability. They have a swivel head, which helps when you maneuver them around obstacles. Still, their bulky bodies make them harder to slide into tight areas or under your tables and chairs.

It takes me more time to get used to maneuvering the NV360. Meanwhile, things are easier for the Shark NV360 thanks to Lift-Away technology, which allows you to switch it to its handheld configuration.

Design and Convenience

The winner: Shark ZU62

Weight And Portability

The weight of the Shark ZU62 vs NV360 is 16.0 lb and 14.3 lb, respectively. As we can see, the former is lighter, which means its portability is higher.

Both of these machines are reasonably portable. They are somewhat heavy, but they feel light in hand. On top of that, they have a built-in carrying handle, making them easier to pick up and carry.

Range

Shark ZU62 vs NV360 share a 25 ft power cord, allowing you to vacuum large areas without swapping outlets too often. But the NV360 let me down by its somewhat short hose (4 ft), while its competitor features a 12 ft hose. Thanks to its longer hose, the ZU62 makes it easier to clean your car, high-mounted shelves, and other hard-to-reach areas.

Filtration

The winner: Shark NV360

Both of these vacuums have the same anti-allergen fully sealed HEPA filtration system, allowing them to collect approximately 99.9% of allergens up to 0.3 microns. Moreover, both feature Anti-Allergen Complete Seal technology, which provides safe locking of all dust and allergens.

However, the score comes to the Shark NV360 here thanks to its washable filter, which helps reduce recurring costs and protect mother nature.

Dirt Compartment

The 89.6 oz dirt cup of the Shark ZU62

The winner: Shark ZU62

The dirt cup of the Shark ZU62 vs NV360 has a capacity of 89.6 oz and 37.1 oz, respectively. So I give the nod to the first one, thanks to its larger dust cup, and I believe this dramatic difference will influence many people’s decisions.

Of course, with the larger the dust cup, you’ll find yourself emptying it less frequently. These dirt tanks are also made of clear plastic, allowing you to tell how full they are at a glance.

 Utilities

The winner: Shark NV360

Semi-Handheld Mode

Thanks to the “Lift-Away” technology, you can use the NV360 as a semi-handheld vacuum cleaner, which is great for cleaning stairs, hard-to-reach areas, and even your car.

On the flip side, the Shark ZU62 doesn’t have this nifty feature, and there are no attachments to help under furniture, which is a bit annoying.

Cleaning Path

The Shark ZU62 has a wider cleaning path than the Shark NV360 (11 and 11.97 inches, respectively). Although the wider cleaning path allows you to vacuum a larger area faster, the difference here is insignificant. Both are more than enough for comfortable cleaning.

Shark ZU62 vs NV360: Similarities

Build Quality

Both the Shark ZU62 vs NV360 have a decent build quality. They have a mainly plastic construction and generally don’t feel too solid. Their dirt cups are quite fragile and could break if dropped.

Dimensions and Store

The Shark ZU62 vs NV360 has dimensions of 9.84 x 11.97 x 45.28 inches and 11.89 x  12.60 x 45.87 inches, respectively. It is safe to say that they are quite bulky, larger than many models I have tested, but they have decent storage capabilities.

Regarding storing, they can be placed in any corner of your house without hassle. So I think their bulky design is not a big deal.
