Differences

The match between Shark ZU561 vs ZU562 ended with a final score of 1-1. They all come with three accessories, and the only difference is the types of those accessories. So, both are good options but will suit different needs and requirements.

Accessories

Shark ZU561's accessories
Shark ZU561’s accessories

The Shark ZU561 and ZU562 come from the same line, so their accessories differ. The ZU562 comes with a pet power brush, a duster crevice tool, and a hair removal multi-tool, while the ZU561 comes with a wide upholstery tool, a hair removal multi-tool, and a duster crevice tool.

If you have pets, you should choose the ZU562 model because it comes with accessories that are geared toward pet owners.

In addition, the storage space for this vacuum can only hold one of the three accessories at a time. This is going to be quite annoying for me because I use two of the three accessories regularly.

Similarities

Cleaning Performance

These machines do admirably well on bare floors and carpets in general, although I have to make several more passes to get everything sucked up. It does a fantastic job of pulling dirt out of carpets. It raised the nap, removed a lot of dust and debris, and made my carpets look brand new again.

Self-cleaning brush roll

Both of these upright vacuums have a Zero M self-cleaning brush roll.

Self-cleaning brush rolls eliminate the need to manually remove hair from the brush roll by employing a series of protrusions that remove it while you vacuum. If this is one of the things you don’t like doing, this feature will come in very handy.

At first, I was underwhelmed since it appeared that the hair wrapped around the roll like every other vacuum. However, after using it for a while, about 5 minutes later, it actually works as advertised and actually untangles the hair wrapped around the roll. It is no longer necessary to unscrew the roll and then cut the hair from it!

On a side note, if you have a lot of hair, you should vacuum more slowly so that the machine doesn’t get jammed up since it has to untangle itself, which can take a few minutes.

Design

These vacuums have a lift-away feature that allows the main unit to be disconnected from the wand with the push of a button, transforming your upright vacuum into a portable vacuum cleaner. As a result, you will have more portability, which will enable you to clean areas above the floor, such as furniture and stairs.

These vacuums also come equipped with advanced swivel steering, which enables the user to rotate the vacuum and reach hard-to-reach areas easily.
