Shark Vertex ICZ362H vs Kenmore Intuition BU4020: After many days of testing, I ended up giving the winning ticket to the first one.
The Shark ICZ362H is a lightweight model, although it is quite bulky. It is ideal for allergy sufferers thanks to its anti-allergen complete seal and HEPA filter. Better yet, it offers unlimited movement thanks to its cordless design.
The Kenmore Intuition BU4020 can prevent sucked-in dirt and dust from flowing back into the air thanks to its bagged design. It also has a good overall cleaning performance on most surfaces. If you are looking for an affordable yet versatile vacuum, you won’t go wrong with it.

Shark Vertex ICZ362H vs Kenmore Intuition BU4020: Differences
The ICZ362H wins 3-0 and ties twice against the BU4020. The first one is more expensive, but it’s worth every penny you spend on it. Keep reading for more information!
Type
Winner: Tie
Both the Shark Vertex ICZ362H vs Kenmore Intuition BU4020 are upright vacuums, but the first one is a cordless and bagged vacuum cleaner while the other is a corded and bagless one. Each has its own pros and cons, but I prefer the ICZ362H.
As a cordless model, the ICZ362H allows me to move freely without being bound by any cord. It can run from about 10 minutes to over an hour per full charge, depending on the settings used, and takes more than 3 hours to fully charge, which can be a bit annoying. There is no charging port on the vacuum itself, which means you will have to pull the battery out for charging. The bagless design means it is unnecessary to worry about dirtbag replacement costs.
As for the BU4020, it has a 30-foot power cord, which is long enough for you to clean large spaces without switching outlets too often. It allows you to vacuum for as long as you like without worrying about running out of battery. It is also the ideal option for those prone to allergies, as it does a great job keeping the dirt and dust concealed, preventing them from flowing back into the air.
Cleaning Performance
Winner: Shark Vertex ICZ362H
Bare Floor Tests
As for the ICZ362H, I used the default ‘Deep Clean’ mode with the ‘Hard Floor’ surface setting and found that it sucked up a good amount of larger debris like sand and did an excellent job with finer material like baking soda.
The Kenmore BU4020, on the other hand, quickly cleared debris like rice and cereal. It showed a drop in performance as its dirtbag filled up, but not significantly.
Low-Pile Carpet Tests
The ICZ362H effectively cleared fine debris, such as baking soda, with the ‘Deep Clean’ mode, but some larger debris got caught in the nooks and crevices in the floorhead.
My low-pile carpet tests showed the Kenmore BU4020 did a great job sucking up larger debris like sand, but it struggled more with fine material, such as baking soda.
High-Pile Carpet Tests
As for the ICZ362H, I used ‘Deep Clean’ mode with the ‘Carpet’ surface setting, and it sucked up the majority of large debris and did an excellent job of handling finer material.
The Kenmore Intuition also captured pet hair without issue and had good performance in picking up both fine material and larger debris. But I think it didn’t work as well as the ICZ362H.
Dimensions And Weight
Winner: Tie
The Shark ICZ362H vs Kenmore BU4020 have dimensions of 45.28 x 10.24 x 11.02 inches and 46.06 x 11.02 x 10.63 inches, respectively. They are quite cumbersome and can be a storage issue. The first one has no onboard storage for included tools and accessories, whereas there is onboard storage on the other for two of the three included accessories.
These machines are lighter than they seem. The ICZ362H weighs about 12.5 lbs, while the BU4020 weighs 15 lbs. Looking at their dimension-to-weight ratio, you will see eye to eye with me.
The BU4020 is heavier than its counterpart, but it has onboard storage for its included accessories. So I call it a tie.
Filter System
Winner: Shark Vertex ICZ362H
Both the Shark Vertex ICZ362H vs Kenmore Intuition BU4020 are equipped with washable HEPA filters that should be cleaned once a year. But the former completely outshines its competitor thanks to Shark’s anti-allergen complete seal, which will keep any dirt and allergens inside the machine. So if you are prone to allergies, I recommend spending more to get this impressive feature.
Utilities
Winner: Shark Vertex ICZ362H
Powered Lift-Away
Most Shark upright vacuum cleaners have lift-away, but the ICZ362H is even better with “powered lift-away.” Simply put, this nifty technology keeps the brush roll spinning with delivered power after lifting the canister, which a non-powered lift-away can’t.
That said, the ICZ362H can be used in three configurations: the traditional upright configuration, the semi-handheld configuration to clean hard-to-reach areas with its wand, and the “stick” configuration to vacuum under furniture with its floorheads.
IQ Display
The Shark Vertex ICZ362H is one of a few models equipped with an LED display screen that I tested. It kept me informed by showing me the surface setting, suction mode, and remaining battery life.
DuoClean Powerfins And Self-Cleaning Brushroll
The ICZ362H continues to take the lead with a DuoClean PowerFins nozzle. It combines a PowerFin roller and a brush roll, allowing the vacuum cleaner to capture fine and extra-large debris equally well on all surfaces.
Two motorized brush rolls work together in one floorhead, so you don’t need to swap the floorheads when moving from one type of surface to another. Moreover, the ICZ362H uses a self-cleaning brush roll to ensure no hair wrap, making it ideal for pet hair vacuuming as well.
Brushroll On/Off
The Kenmore Intuition BU4020 has a readily accessible brush roll on/off switch, which allows you to turn off the brush roll before cleaning bare floors to prevent it from being scratched. It is located right on the main body of the device, next to the power button.
Shark Vertex ICZ362H vs Kenmore Intuition BU4020: Similarities
LED Headlight
Both the Shark Vertex ICZ362H vs Kenmore Intuition BU4020 have LED headlights in the front, which make dust and dirt easier to spot when you need to vacuum in dark areas. In addition, this nice-to-have feature also makes it easy to detect anything that could harm your machine if sucked in. Since this feature can kill two birds with one stone, it deserves to be one of the features that an excellent upright vacuum cleaner should have.
Easy to Assemble
I believe assembling this machine is a stroll in the park for anyone. It didn’t take me 10 minutes to make each model ready to use, even though I didn’t need my owner’s manual. Of course, you may need more time to get the job done if you are inexperienced.
