The Shark NV752 is a powerful vacuum cleaner that comes with a number of useful attachments. It has strong suction, an LED headlights system, and a HEPA filtration system, making it ideal for cleaning pet hair, dust, and other allergens from your home. But its price tag is on the higher side.
On the other hand, the Shark UV850 is a budget-friendly option that still has a lot to offer. It’s lightweight, compact, and perfect for quick cleanups and small messes. However, its suction power and attachments are limited compared to the Shark NV752.

Shark UV850 Vs NV752: Differences
To be a good vacuum cleaner, there are many factors you need to test and compare with different models. That’s the case for Shark, and NV752 is the model that has a better performance in this competition, with a score of 2-0 and ties once. So let’s go into detailed reviews!
Cleaning performance
Ties!
Suction power
As a professor in the field of vacuuming technology, it’s clear that the Shark NV752 has a stronger suction power than the Shark UV850. The Shark NV752 boasts a suction power of 95″ water lift, while the Shark UV850 has a suction power of 80″. The higher water lift in the Shark NV752 indicates that it will be able to lift more dirt and debris from your floors, providing a deeper and more thorough clean.
In addition, the Shark NV752 also has a higher airflow hose rating of 99 CFM, which contributes to its superior suction power. This makes it an excellent choice for cleaning carpets, rugs, upholstery, and hard floors such as tile or hardwood. The Shark UV850 may be sufficient for light cleaning tasks, but if you’re looking for a vacuum that can tackle tougher cleaning jobs, its rival is definitely the better choice.
Suction control
I have found the Shark UV850 to be a versatile vacuum cleaner thanks to its suction control slider located on the handle. This feature allows me to adjust the suction power depending on the type of floor I am cleaning. This is a great feature to have as it makes cleaning different floor types much more convenient and effective.
On the other hand, the Shark NV752 does not have the same versatility regarding suction control. The vacuum cleaner only has three-floor settings, which means there are limited options to change the suction power when needed. This can be a bit restrictive and may not provide the desired results for certain cleaning tasks. Overall, the suction control feature of the Shark UV850 gives it an edge over the NV752.
Brush-roll system
The Shark UV850 features a DuoClean brush roll system, which consists of two brush rolls that work together to clean your floors effectively. The first brush roll is made of soft bristles, which work to pick up large debris, such as crumbs and pet hair. The second brush roll is made of PowerFins, which are made of a more rigid material and work to dig deep into carpet fibers to remove smaller dirt.
Compared to the Shark NV752, I can see the DuoClean system on the UV850 provides certain advantages. For example, the soft bristles on the first brush roll can clean hard floors entirely without damaging them, but when used on a wood floor, it may not be good as expected.
On the other hand, NV752 is also a good competitor. With the result I receive, the bristles on the brush are long enough to propel the vacuum forward when spinning, making it easier for you to move the vacuum without pushing it. This is a great feature for those who have larger spaces. Besides, rigid bristles are suitable for deep cleaning carpets, and they won’t slow down or make it difficult to pull the vacuum back, which is a plus.
Pet hair performance
When it comes to cleaning pet hair, both vacuums do a decent job, but the Shark UV850 is somewhat a bit better. As someone who cleans houses for a living, I can attest that pet hair can be a real challenge to clean up. However, I have long-haired dogs, and this vacuum cleaner has tackled even the toughest pet hair without any problems.
One of its main benefits is its powerful suction, which makes cleaning pet hair a breeze. Additionally, the vacuum’s brush roll system is designed to be self-cleaning, so I don’t have to worry about cleaning it off whenever I use it.
Also, a fantastic choice for removing pet hair is the Shark NV752, which amazed me when I first tried it. I found it surprising how well it could pull dog hair from under the cabinets, a testament to its power. However, you may sometimes deal with tangled hair on the nozzle. It’s not a big problem, but removing it will take time.
Cleaning path
Regarding the cleaning path, the Shark UV850 has a cleaning path of 10.7 inches, while the Shark NV752 has a cleaning path of 10.5 inches. This means you can cover more ground with each vacuum pass, making cleaning quicker and more efficient with the former. However, the difference in the cleaning path is insignificant, so it ultimately comes down to personal preference.
Floor height adjustment
The Shark UV850 offers two switches for hard floors and carpets, allowing you to easily adjust the vacuum’s height to suit different floor types. However, it’s important to note that the brush rolls spin in all modes, so you must be cautious when using it on delicate surfaces.
On the other hand, the Shark NV752 offers three height settings for thick carpets, low piles, and hard floors. This gives you more flexibility when cleaning various types of surfaces, as you can choose from three different positions that are equivalent to the beater on, beater off (full suction), or beater off (partial suction). This last setting is especially useful when cleaning thin rugs, as it provides just enough suction to pick up dirt and debris without damaging the rug.
Design & convenience
The winner: Shark UV752
Dirt tank capacity
The Shark UV850 has a capacity of 1.16 quarts, a decent size for a vacuum cleaner. This allows you to clean your home without having to constantly stop and empty the bin. On the other hand, the NV752 has a slightly smaller capacity at 0.88 quarts.
While it may still get the job done for smaller cleaning tasks, it might require more frequent emptyings if you have a larger space to clean. Therefore, it’s important to consider your cleaning needs and the size of your home when choosing between these two vacuums in terms of dirt bin capacity.
Maneuverability
I know many of you will appreciate the vacuum cleaner with good maneuverability. So the question here is, how about Shark UV850 and NV752? Let me show you!
The Shark UV850 features lift-away technology, allowing me to detach the main cleaning unit from the wand for more versatile cleaning options. This means you can easily reach hard-to-reach areas, like under furniture, and easily clean those spaces. Aside from that, it also has a 1.84-foot hose which can be good for cleaning tight spaces but still fall short compared to its competitor.
In contrast, with its powered lift-away technology, the Shark NV752 takes maneuverability to the next level. This feature lets users lift the pod away from the floor nozzle and keeps the powered brushroll spinning, providing continuous cleaning action.
This makes it easy for me to reach all those difficult-to-access places without constantly stopping and restarting the brush roll. I can not only save time but also makes my cleaning more comfortable. Besides, you have an added advantage with a 6-foot hose length when cleaning tough places such as windows. These features give me the feeling of escaping when I don’t need to worry too much about backache symptoms.
Utility
The winner: Shark UV752
LED headlights
The Shark UV850 and Shark NV752 feature LED headlight technology but differ in the headlight’s location. On the former, the headlight is on the vacuum head, while on the latter, it is on the handle and the floor piece.
The LED headlight on the Shark UV850 provides a clear view of the floor while vacuuming, making it easier to see dirt and debris. However, with the headlight only on the head of the vacuum, it may be harder to see in tight spaces or under furniture.
The Shark NV752 is designed to make cleaning a hassle-free experience. The headlight on the floor piece and the handle provide a comprehensive view of the floor and any dirt or debris, making it easy to see where I need to vacuum. This eliminates any guesswork and ensures that I don’t miss any spots. In addition, it’s wonderful for me to assess the floor’s cleanliness after each pass so that you can see exactly how well the vacuum works.
Attachments
The Shark UV850 has three attachments: a dusting tool, an upholstery tool, and a crevice tool. The dusting tool is ideal for cleaning delicate surfaces like blinds, bookshelves, and keyboards without damaging them. The upholstery tool is designed to clean furniture, curtains, and car interiors. Finally, the crevice tool cleans tight spaces between couch cushions and car seats.
The Shark NV752, on the other hand, has a more comprehensive set of attachments. It comes with a dusting brush, a dusting genie, a True Pet Mini motorized brush, a pet upholstery tool, and a hard floor genie. The dusting genie is a versatile cleaning tool combining a crevice tool and a dusting brush.
The True Pet Mini motorized brush is designed for pet owners and effectively removes pet hair. The pet upholstery tool is made to remove pet hair and dust from curtains, delicate fabrics, and upholstery. Finally, the hard floor genie is great for cleaning hard floors and has a washable microfiber pad for convenience.
If you are satisfied with traditional cleaning tools and don’t want to pay much, then the Shark UV850 may be enough for you. However, if you have specific cleaning needs, such as removing pet hair or cleaning hard floors, Shark NV752 is a better choice, as it has tools designed for those tasks.
Storing
As someone who has tested both vacuum cleaners, I can say that the Shark UV850 and the NV752 have pros and cons regarding onboard storage for attachments. The advantage of this feature is that you can attach your tools directly to your vacuum cleaner, but its design will be the main factor that influences your experience.
I realized that the storage for attachments in the Shark UV850 is too close to the canister, which can sometimes result in the attachments getting knocked off. This can be quite frustrating and can slow down the cleaning process.
Similarly, the onboard storage for NV752 can interfere with cord storage, and it doesn’t have enough space for all tools, which can be quite inconvenient. I had trouble finding a place to store all of my attachments, and I often had to stop cleaning to see a missing tool.
