Shark UV725 vs NV352: Which One Gives You a Better Vacuuming Experience?

Shark UV725 vs NV352: Whichever you choose, you’ll have to take the bad with the good. But if I have to choose between the two, I recommend the second one.

The Shark NV352 has overall better cleaning performance, but it’s slightly behind its competitor in terms of minimizing hair wrap issues. It is lightweight and easy to maneuver, but its cord should be longer.

The Shark UV725 is a cheap model, but it comes equipped with a self-cleaning brushroll and some LED headlights, which the winner lacks. If its heavy weight is not a big deal for you, you will be good with it!

Shark UV725 vs NV352: Differences

The Shark NV352 wins 2-1 and ties one against the UV725. It struggles a bit with longer hair, but its overall cleaning performance is better. It is also lighter and has a larger dust cup. On the downside, its cord is pretty short, and it doesn’t have LED headlights.

Cleaning Performance

Winner: Shark NV352

I created debris from chili flakes, flax seeds, and ground cheerios for my cleaning performance tests on both my hard floor and carpet. On my hard floor, both the Shark UV725 vs NV352 easily captured a good amount of debris, but the second one had slightly better pickup than the other.

My carpet tests also showed that these machines have adequate performance. The Shark NV352 takes the lead again since it can pick up most debris with just a single pass, while the UV725 leaves slightly more debris behind. But everything was fine after I did an extra pass.

Regarding pet hair removal, this duo did a good job at picking up pet hair. But the NV352 struggled to send captured hair into its dust cup, and I had to clean its brush roll myself after several tests to prevent its performance from degrading over time.

The Shark UV725 is, on the other hand, very effective in reducing hair wrap. So what sets it apart from the NV352? The answer lies in its self-cleaning brushroll. As its name suggests, this brushroll is specifically designed to ensure a large amount of sucked hair doesn’t get stuck on it.

Winner: Tie

Dimensions and Weight

The dimensions of the Shark UV725 vs NV352 are 45.28 x 13 x 12 inches and 45.5 x 11.4 x 15 inches, respectively. The first one weighs 13.37 pounds, while the weight of the other is 16.7 pounds.

I was impressed by how light the NV352 is, despite its bulky design. I’m sure you’ll have no problem carrying it, even if you’re a guy with weak arms. It would be even lighter if used as a semi-handheld vacuum. The Shark UV725, on the other hand, is a little heavy and can be awkward in smaller and tighter spaces.

The pair also has a built-in carrying handle, allowing easier movement. But if only they had a place to store attachments.

Range

The Shark NV352 has a 25-foot power cord, which is enough for me to clean large areas of my house without constantly changing plugs. But the Shark UV725 even gave me better reach with a 30-foot cord, making my vacuuming process less time-consuming. So if you’re living in a large house, you won’t go wrong with the UV725.

It’s worth noting that these machines have no cord rewind, which means their cord needs to be wrapped manually. I don’t consider this a minus since it is a breeze to get the job done.

Dust Cup Capacity

Winner: Shark NV352

The dust cup on the UV725 can hold up to 0.9 quarts of dirt before it needs to be emptied, while the NV352 comes with a 1.1-quart cup. So the second one takes the lead with a larger dust cup, allowing you to clean a larger area before emptying it again.

The good news is that the dust containers for both are removable, so washing and cleaning them is like taking a stroll in the park.

Utilities

Winner: Shark UV725

Another thing that the Shark UV725 gives the NV352 a run for its money is some LED headlights in front of the floorhead. Many users consider this feature redundant and unnecessary, but I guess their home probably doesn’t have many dimly lit corners. You won’t know how great this feature is until you have to vacuum in places that can’t be illuminated by your ceiling lights.

Shark UV725 vs NV352: Similarities

Design

Both the Shark UV725 vs NV352 are lift-away upright vacuums from Shark, which has a reputation for providing many robust yet affordable vacuums. Corded electric and bagless are two other things that they have in common.

Thanks to the “lift-away” feature, they can be used as semi-handheld vacuums with minimal attachments, which are ideal for cleaning hard-to-reach areas like behind large furniture or inside your car.

The biggest difference in terms of aesthetics is probably the color. The UV725 is finished in black and silver, while the other comes in purple.

Filters

Both Shark UV725 vs NV352 have two filters: a washable foam pre-motor and a post-motor HEPA filter, which has a reputation for removing up to 99.9% of dirt, dust, pollen, bacteria, viruses, moisture, and more that are present in the air. The foam filter should be washed every two to three months.

Many users have also agreed that the HEPA filter is also washable, but they recommend only using running water instead of throwing it into a washing machine. I’m not so sure about this.

Better yet, these models are equipped with anti-allergen complete seal technology, which ensures all dirt stays in the vacuum. That way, the things that come out of them are nothing other than clean and fresh air.
