If you are a person with a certain understanding of upright vacuum cleaners, you are probably no stranger to Shark vacuums. Today’s article will be a comparison review between two amazing machines, Shark NV752 vs ZU632. To summarize, the winner is the NV752.
Despite sharing a lot of similarities with its opponent, Shark NV752 still stands out somewhat thanks to some factors, such as its stable performance on hard floors and carpets, multi-functional accessories, and other additional features. For instance, I really like the LED design on its handle.
Shark ZU632 is also a great upright vacuum cleaner. It is especially suitable for pet owners. Its plus point lies in the innovative cleaner head design with the self-cleaning brushroll. Besides, its HEPA filter is also very useful for allergy sufferers.

Shark NV752 vs ZU632: Differences
After examining the features of each machine, I concluded Shark NV752 wins 2:0 and tie 2 against Shark ZU632. In fact, they share many similarities but at the same time still have their own distinctive characteristics. For a better understanding, please read the analysis below.
Cleaning performance
Tie
Performance on hard floors
Both Shark NV752 and ZU632 perform well to pick up dirt and fine debris on hard floors. With large debris like Froot Loops, you can completely vacuum them with the wand.
When using the hard floor mode, the ZU632’s brush roll spins more slowly but doesn’t stop whereas the NV752’s is turned off. So when you’re vacuuming hard floors with the NV752, you’re relying entirely on its suction power. Meanwhile, with the ZU632, in addition to suction, you have the help of the roller. However, in turn, turning off the brush roll makes cleaning hard floors more gentle and debris less likely to be scattered.
Overall, each structure design has its own pros and cons.
Performance on carpets
To begin, I’d like to emphasize that because these vacuums lack nozzle height adjustment, they can be difficult to roll on high-pile or shag carpets. In return, you can rest assured of excellent overall performance when cleaning low- and medium-pile carpets.
On the carpet, the NV752 moves slightly more easily than its opponent. This is because every time the brush roll spins, it tends to pull the vacuum cleaner along. Meanwhile, the brush roll of the ZU632 doesn’t do the same, so its movement is a bit more difficult.
Pet Hair Performance
Both machines are great for picking up hair since they’re designed for pet owners. However, the ZU632 stands out thanks to the self-cleaning brushroll.
This difference comes from the distinct designs of their cleaner heads. The NV752 has a standard traditional brush roll with stiff bristles, while the design of the ZU632 is improved. As a result, after vacuuming, the NV752’s brush roll was still left with some pet hair and hair, while the ZU632 was completely clean.
Dirt bin and filtration
Tie
Dirt tank
The dirt compartment on both vacuums is the same size. They are made from clear plastic and have an open layout, making it easy to keep them clean. They are also large enough that you don’t have to empty them too often when you’re vacuuming.
There’s a release button at the top of the dust canisters, and you just have to press it and then pull it out. Emptying these dustbins is also very simple. Place the dirt tank above a trash can, open the bottom cover of the dust cup, and then all the dirt will drop out into the trash.
Filtration
These vacuum cleaners share the same filtration system. Each of them comes with one post-motor filter and two pre-motor filters. All of the filters can be rinsed in cold water when they are dirty, and they are easily accessible as well.
The post-motor filter is a HEPA filter and it is located on the front, just above the cleaner head. This filter can capture 99.97% of airborne particles with a size of 0.3 microns, such as dust, pollen, bacteria, etc. Therefore, it is very suitable for people who have allergies or respiratory problems.
Located just below the dirt compartment are two pro-motor filters, one is a foam filter and the other is a felt filter. Note that all these filters need to be let dry for at least 24 hours before placing them back in the vacuum cleaner.
Design and convenience
The winner: Shark NV752
Maneuverability
Overall, the maneuverability of both vacuums is decent. Although their weight is around 16 pounds, they are still quite portable. Their cleaner heads can also be rotated to easily get into tight spaces and between furniture.
In my opinion, the NV752 is easier to maneuver than the ZU632 thanks to a few design differences.
For example, you can see that the NV752 has a longer power cord, 30 feet, which gives you a respectable cleaning reach. Meanwhile, the power cord of the ZU632 is only 25 feet. This length is sometimes a little short in a larger cleaning area. You may find yourself running out of cleaning reach and having to search around for the other outlet.
Noise Level
Overall, their noise level is average when it comes to the noise level of vacuum cleaners. I mean they’re not too loud. With the NV752, we don’t need to raise our voices to talk while vacuuming.
From what I measured, the noise level of the NV752 is 75 dB and that of the ZU632 is 77 dB. In fact, you can totally notice the difference in noise levels between these two models. The noisier ZU632 can be attributed to the Zero-M technology. Note that the noise volume of a vacuum cleaner depends on the surface it passes through and the suction setting you choose.
Utilities
The winner: Shark NV752
Accessories
Speaking of attachments, the NV752 includes some extra tools that you won’t find in the ZU632.
The ZU632 only has a crevice tool and a pet multi-tool. In the NV752, you have a pet power tool. This tool supports the powerful deep charging of stains on upholstery and other surfaces.
LED lights
In addition to the headlights, the NV752 also has LED lights on the handle. It is designed to be at the top of the handle. The light is bright and very handy. Therefore, no matter which nozzle you use, your path is always illuminated.
Shark NV752 vs ZU632: Similarities
As you can see, Shark NV752 and ZU632 really have a lot of similarities. Among them, the most prominent are the following aspects.
Body style
These machines have a similar body style, from top to bottom. The controls are all concentrated on the handle, including the suction and the brush roll adjustment buttons. The top of the cleaner head is designed with LED lights, and they stay on as long as the machine is on. In addition, they share the same dirt compartment design and lift-away mode.
Power lift away
Both Shark NV752 and ZU632 come with the powered lift-away feature. This allows you to detach the dust canister and take it with the engine assembly to increase the maneuverability of the machine. There is a big lift-away button at the top of the canister. Press down on it and the whole assembly will come up. The dust canister is heavy enough to stand firmly on the floor without falling over.
The difference between these two machines with other lift-away vacuum cleaners is that they are powered. That means they have power at the end of the handle, and if you have a powered tool with a motor, it will run.
