Shark NV752 Vs NV356E: Helpful Review For You Before Buying

I get commissions for purchases made through links in this post. Read more

Vacuuming can be a tedious chore, but it’s a necessary one. The Shark NV752 vs NV356E are popular models, but how do they compare? Are they worth the money? In this blog post, I’ll take a look at the features of both models and compare them side-by-side, so you can make an informed decision when it comes to picking the perfect vacuum for your needs.

The Shark NV752 is a powerful upright vacuum cleaner that stands out for its high suction power, versatility, and ease of use. It features an Anti-Allergen Complete Seal Technology and a HEPA filter that captures and traps up to 99.99% of dust and allergens inside the vacuum. It also has a Powered Lift-Away system which allows you to lift the canister off the main unit for hard-to-reach areas, and LED light to maximize the cleaning performance.

The Shark NV356E is a lightweight, upright vacuum cleaner with several features, including swivel steering, an on-off brush roll, and a HEPA filter. However, it doesn’t have the same level of suction power as its rival. It also lacks some of the features, such as LED headlights or fingertip controls.

Shark NV752 Vs NV356E: Differences

Due to the additional features and high cleaning performance, Shark NV752 wins over NV356E with a score of 2-1. You can easily use both machines in many places in your room, but the former will stand out in some functions. I’ll give further detail in the next parts. Let’s scroll down and explore!

Cleaning performance

The winner: Shark NV752

Compatible Floor Type

Shark NV752: Cleaning pet hair on carpet
Shark NV752: Cleaning pet hair on carpet

Shark NV752 vs NV356e are recommended to clean hard floors and carpets, and they excel at the latter. However, the Shark NV752 does not perform as well as the NV356e in terms of hardwood or bare floors. In addition, although NV752 has a separate setting for this type of surface, it sometimes leaves behind older dust and smaller particles.

This can be a nuisance, especially when you need a thorough cleaning or have many spaces with a hard floor. If you want to solve this issue completely, I recommend buying a hard floor tool. The NV356e, on the other hand, is much better at this term. Its cleaning score is around 93%, which ensures your hard floors are cleaned perfectly.

Suction power

Concerning suction power, I want to mention air flow first. The vacuum airflow specification is by far one of the most significant parameters in determining the vacuum cleaner’s cleaning capabilities. In general, dirty particles are picked up and moved to dust bags or containers by the force of airflow across surfaces.

Between Shark NV752 vs NV356e, the former is the better one. The Shark NV752 has a 99 CFM (cubic feet per minute) airflow rating, while the NV356e has a 77 CFM rating. This means the former can clean larger areas more quickly and efficiently than its rival. The higher airflow rating also means that the NV752 is better at removing dust and debris from carpets and other surfaces.

Another thing to consider is the suction itself. The NV365e has a suction release collar that allows you to release suction for different cleaning needs, making it a great choice for those who need to customize their suction power for various tasks.

The NV752 has three preset floor settings that produce different suction power, but it does not offer variable suction control. However, it features a great water lift number, at 95 inches, higher than 72 inches of NV356e. As a result, it makes a huge difference in efficiency when collecting different types of waste, such as fine particles and medium to large debris.

Pet hair performance

Shark NV356E: Brush roll
Shark NV356E: Brush roll

I have tested the Shark NV752 vacuum cleaner and was pleasantly surprised by the results. It is good for cleaning short and long hair. The suction power was powerful enough to pick up all of the pet hair off of my carpets and furniture without clogging. The brush roll was also useful in removing tangled hair. I suggest you clean this part after use for the best result the next time.

In comparison, I have had some issues with the Shark NV356e regarding long hair. The suction power wasn’t as strong, and the brush roll could not make much difference and seemed to wrap hair in an ineffective manner.

Noise level

The Shark NV752 is a great vacuum with acceptable minimal noise (around 75.2 dB), making it a great option for those who want to get the job done quickly without being disturbed by loud sounds. This feature is perfect for me since I live on the top floor of an apartment with wood flooring and don’t want to annoy anyone below me.

On the other hand, the Shark NV356e sometimes has an annoying squeak or whistling noise that can be distracting (nearly 77 dB). While it is still a good vacuum, its noise can be bothersome and may be a dealbreaker for some people.

Wet-compatible

I was pleasantly surprised when I used the Shark NV752 vacuum cleaner for the first time. It picked up all the dry debris from my carpets and wet things. This was a huge plus as I often spill drinks and food on my carpets. In contrast, the Shark NV356E cleaner is only suitable for collecting dry debris and can’t handle the wet mess. This makes the NV752 the clear winner in this round.

Besides, you should be cautious when cleaning wet dirt, as the suction can cause damage to delicate surfaces. Remember to read the instructions carefully before using both models, and follow all safety precautions.

Design And Convenience

The winner: Shark NV356E

Position of controls

Shark NV356E: Controls
Shark NV356E: Controls

The NV365E has a power switch and floor selector located on top of the canister pod. At the same time, the NV752 uses fingertip controls with both switches located on its handle for easy access when cleaning stairs or furniture edges. This makes it easier to switch from carpet mode to hardwood without bending down whenever you need a different setting for different surfaces in your home.

Dirt tank capacity

The Shark NV752 vs NV356e are both good vacuums, but their dustbin capacities definitely set them apart. The NV752 offers 1.5 quarts of dustbin capacity, which is ample for minor clean-up jobs. Meanwhile, the NV356e gives you an additional 0.7 quarts of capacity with 2.2 quarts of dustbin space, making it perfect for bigger cleaning jobs or households with multiple rooms without having to empty the bin as often as with its smaller counterpart.

Additionally, those who suffer from allergies will appreciate the extra space for trapping more debris before needing an emptying session – which is especially helpful when tackling pet hair or other allergens in your home environment!

Utilities

The winner: Shark NV752

LED light

Shark NV752: LED light
Shark NV752: LED light

The NV752 has LED lights on the powered nozzle and handle, which the NV356E does not have, making it a great benefit and upgrade over its competitor. I found the LED lights incredibly helpful, especially when cleaning those hard-to-reach places with minimal lighting.

It allowed me to see more clearly, so I could be sure I cleaned the area thoroughly without moving furniture around. This feature alone made the NV752 worth it for me, and I think it could provide a great benefit for others too!

Maneuverability

+ Weight

Another difference is their weight; the NV752 has 15.6 lbs while the lighter model, NV356E, has 13.7 lbs weight, making it easier to maneuver around furniture and tight spaces when cleaning your home or office space. However, I don’t consider this an issue of NV752 because my practical experience with these two machines is that they are both lightweight compared to other models on the market.

+ Hose & Cord Length

The NV752 and NV356e have a cord length of around 25 feet, which is not as advertised, but the hose length of Nv752 is longer (6 feet), while NV356e is 5 feet. This is an important difference between the two vacuums because the extra foot of hose length makes it easier to reach tight spaces that you would otherwise be unable to clean.

Unfortunately, these lengths are not remarkable, and I see they’re quite short to stretch to different spaces in a large house.

+ Lift-away technology

Undoubtedly, the NV365E has several features that make it an attractive choice for homeowners, including its Lift-Away mode, which allows you to detach the canister from the main unit for easy portability. However, when in this mode, you cannot use any motorized tools, such as a powered nozzle.

On the other hand, with its Powered Lift-Away feature, users of Shark’s more advanced model -the NV752 – have access to all accessories even while using their vacuum cleaner in portable form. This means you can use the powerful motorized nozzle without reattaching or moving anything else on the machine first. It is an ultra-convenient and versatile cleaning experience for me.

Attachment

The Shark NV365E has a decent selection of tools, including an upholstery tool, crevice tool, and pet tool with its independent motor – all quite good options for tackling different types of messes and surfaces around your room.

In comparison, The Shark NV752 has different attachments: a pet power brush, dusting brush, and crevice tool. However, it does come at a lower price point, so it may be more attractive if budget is an important factor in your buying decision.

Shark NV752 Vs NV356e: Similarities

Besides the differences described clearly in the previous section, there are still many things that Shark NV752 Vs NV356e share in common. Let’s find out now!

Bagless upright vacuum cleaners

The Shark NV365E and NV752 are both bagless upright vacuum cleaners, offering some benefits over traditional bagged vacuums. One of the main advantages is the cost savings associated with not having to purchase replacement bags. Additionally, with bagless vacuums, there is no need to worry about changing a bag when it becomes full, as the dirt and debris are collected in a cup that can be easily emptied.

HEPA filter

Besides the features mentioned above, Shark NV572 and NV356e have impressive HEPA filters. The HEPA filter is essential for trapping airborne allergens like dust mites and pet dander to help keep your home clean and healthy. With its three levels of filtration, it can capture 99% percent of particles down to 0.3 microns in size – ensuring that no allergen escapes into your living space while you vacuum!
