Are you ready to invest in a good vacuum, but you are stuck with too many options? Check out my review for Shark Nv752 vs Dyson Animal 2, 2 reasonably-priced advanced models that I recommend to users looking for convenience and powerful suction. After comparing the 2 devices, I have decided to go with Shark Nv752!
Shark Nv752 is the worthy winner due to its convenient LED lights that help users easily notice areas with more dust and debris. The vacuum also cleans very well against microdust and debris, whether with bare floors or high-pile carpets, thanks to its many cleaning modes. And yes, the brushroll can be turned off to avoid scratching the sealed floor or pushing dust away from the port! I highly recommend this line if you want a vacuum with a good price AND money.
The Dyson Ball Animal 2 falls short due to its loud operation and hefty pricing. However, the vacuum does a great job of removing tiny trash and lengthy pet hair, especially over low-pile carpets, since the floor nozzle has a real-time height adjustment according to users’ pushes and pulls. But there are so many flaws for such a big price tag.

Shark Nv752 vs Dyson Animal 2: Differences
Shark Nv752 wins 3-0 and ties twice against Dyson Ball Animal 2. The former boasts bright LED headlights, more maneuverable steering, and a powered lift-away function. Each machine has many advanced technologies, and I will reveal how they perform for me now and in the long run!
Clean performance
Tie
Dust and debris
Small dust particles and debris aren’t a problem with this pair, which is quite normal for most vacuums because these are the easier types of dirt to deal with. Overall, thanks to the potent suction power and over 13 inches of intake port width, I can go over a section only once or twice to get a spotlessly clean surface.
There is something you should keep in mind, though. Whatever type of trash you are dealing with, it’s necessary to make sure that it’s not wet because that’s not the pair’s specialty. You can risk damaging the motor and filters entirely or even facing an electrical breach. In case you intend to vacuum very small vegetable pieces scattered on the floor, which is slightly moist instead of wet, that’s possible, even though not recommendable if frequent.
Hair
Pet or human hair is particularly dreadful to clean if you don’t have the right tool. Luckily, the brushrolls of Shark Nv752 and Dyson Animal 2 can easily pick up from short to long hair, from bare floors to carpets. But, of course, I notice a better performance against short strands.
Regarding long hair, as the brushroll of Nv752 doesn’t have the anti-hair-wrap function, I sometimes have to remove the hair from the bristles to avoid clogging manually. On the contrary, Animal Ball 2 has an anti-tangle brushroll.
But, we can count on technologies that make things easier. Since both vacuums come with a nozzle/accessory that tackles hair directly with an anti-tangle operation, I make use of it to the fullest. These nozzles remove hair and dust from any carpet so easily that I don’t regret purchasing any of them. Of course, you have to try them against couches and sofas as well!
Special technologies/ Utilities
Winner: Shark Nv752
Shark Nv752 has a brushroll shut-off feature, which links to the variable cleaning modes of the device. I can choose between cleaning high-pile carpets, low-pile carpets, or bare floors. The type of surface you are working with should determine the mode, and the mode should choose the best cleaning mechanism for the surface. So, avoiding damaging your sealed wood floor or pumping up the rotation for carpets and rugs is possible.
Also, it boasts bright LED headlights, which reveal all kinds of dust that users usually miss with their naked eyes. I notice a big difference when cleaning with the lights on. My living room feels less “sandy” when I walk barefoot, and I don’t have to repeat the cleaning task frequently.
With that said, Dyson Animal Ball 2 has some tricks up its sleeve. It boasts a self-adjust floor nozzle, which adapts the head height depending on the surface users are working with. It’s convenient, not as practical and consistent as Shark Nv752’s variable settings, but a great touch nonetheless.
Filtration system
Tie
Both vacuums use the HEPA filter to trap dust particles inside instead of leaking them out into the environment again when exhausting clean air through the port. According to research, it eliminates 99% of dust and allergens, ensuring that even users with respiratory problems can work with the vacuums. And as someone with a sensitive nose, I can confirm that the pair does a phenomenal job of trapping the dirt.
The filters are washable, so it is possible to keep them clean and ensure a wonderful cleaning performance in the long run. Make sure to clean both the pre and post-motor filters once in a while.
The HEPA filter needs cleaning not very frequently. Once every few months is okay. But for the premotor filters, cleaning after each use or after twice or 3 times of cleaning the house is necessary. That will keep the system going strong for many years to come!
Design & Convenience
Winner: Shark Nv752
Shark Nv752 and Dyson Animal Ball 2 boast swivel steering functions to tackle messes around furniture easier. What makes Nv752 the winner is that the floor nozzle moves with smoother swipes. In the beginning, I didn’t notice any clogs or difficult maneuverability of any model. But the ball design of Dyson Animal 2 started to get heavier and less portable.
Also, Shark is famous for its ability to convert vacuums from upright to hand-held mode. The same goes for Nv752. I can easily lift the motor and dirt bin while working with the hose. As for Dyson Animal Ball, raising the frame around is impossible because it’s quite bulky. But, the good news is that Dyson boasts a 30ft power cord, while Shark only has a 26ft cord. So, there is a trade-off in terms of mobility here! It would be best if you considered this aspect.
Price and value
Winner: Shark Nv752
After comparing their prices, functions, and designs, Shark Nv752 convinces me that it has a better price for value. I get to enjoy a thorough cleaning with 3 different settings for different floor types and debris, and the LED headlights make it so much easier to detect areas that need extra attention when I need to clean piled-up dusty floors. So, since Shark Nv752 is more affordable and boasts more advanced features, I have no reason not to choose it over Dyson.
