Welcome to my comparison of the Shark NV352 vs NV354 vacuum cleaners. Sharks are known for being a trusted brand when it comes to providing powerful suction and innovative features that make cleaning easier and more efficient. And sometimes, they release models of the same line but with different colors. This means they work the same, right? Not really! After putting these vacuums to the test, Shark NV352 has convinced me more than its fellow NV354!

At only 12.5 pounds, the Shark NV352 is a lightweight vacuum that is easy to carry up and down stairs or move around furniture. Not just being lightweight, this vacuum also boasts a potent suction power and 2 cleaning modes that adjust floor types. I have been using this vacuum for months now without any issues. And the price is a fairly good deal!

The runner-up Shark NV354, is a tough vacuum as well. Its suction is very impressive, and it can deal with pet hair with its bristle brushroll. In general, its performance is similar to that of NV352. However, its set doesn’t come with the crevice and upholstery like it normally does with most vacuums. And there is a small problem with the nozzles’ attachment.

Shark NV352 vs NV354: Differences

Shark NV352 wins 2-0 and ties twice against NV354. Both devices clean well, but NV352 excels with its more secure assembly and diverse accessories. With that said, it’s easy to purchase the extra nozzles outside. It basically boils down to the assembly part. Check out my review to know what I mean.

Cleaning performance

Tie

Many factors make NV352 and NV354 ideal for cleaning debris from bare floors and carpets. Firstly, we must keep in account the adjustable cleaning modes feature. There are 2 modes to choose from: bare floors and carpets. This will adjust the brushroll rotation and the suction so the system can suck up as much debris as possible, depending on the surface.

I greatly appreciate this function because dealing with carpets, and hard floors requires different kinds of attention. For example, a brushroll that spins too fast on hard floors may not be the best setting as it tends to push the dirt away. On the contrary, if we don’t use a speedy roller on carpets, it may not effectively remove hair strands or dust from the fibers. So, the 2 settings for floor types are highly convenient.

Also, I like that I can shut off the brushroll completely if I want to because it aids the hard floor cleaning process. And, if your house has a sealed floor that is easily damaged, it’s nice being able to still the roller to avoid the bristles scratching the wax or epoxy off.

Filtration system and dirt bin

Tie

Shark NV352 and NV354 are equipped with a HEPA filter designed to capture 99.9% of dust and allergens down to 0.3 microns in size. This means that the filters are highly effective at trapping even the tiniest particles that can cause respiratory problems for some people. I have tested their filters’ strength and noticed very slight leaking, which is only a problem when there is an abnormal amount of air beside the programmed intake entering the system.

Overall, the HEPA works very effectively and pairs well with the premotor and felt filter. The double cycles eliminate most hazards possible to human health. As someone with a sensitive nose, I haven’t entered into a session of constant sneezing with these vacuums.

Utilities

Winner: Shark NV352

The reason why Shark NV352 wins the round of utilities is quite funny. When I purchased this model, I found it came with a set of standard accessories like crevice, pet, and upholstery tools. As for NV354, the situation isn’t as positive. The device only came with a pet brush, limiting the cleaning option unless I bought additional nozzles. However, the accessibility to the standard tools is the advantage that NV352 possesses.

Let’s talk about the cord length. Since they belong to the same product line, these vacuums possess the same cord length of 25ft. Yes, 25ft isn’t very long and will require users to plug and unplug if cleaning large rooms or spaces with many pieces of furniture. However, I still find the parameter to be sufficiently standard for a comfortable experience, especially for apartments. If you own a very large house, though, it’s best to invest money in a device with a 30-35ft cord.

Design

Winner: Shark NV352

One of the key features of the Shark NV352 is its Lift-Away capability. This feature allows you to detach the canister from the main body of the vacuum and use it as a portable, handheld vacuum. This is particularly useful for cleaning stairs, upholstery, and other hard-to-reach areas. And since the model weighs only 12.5 pounds, it’s even easier to maneuver.

As for NV354, it’s very lightweight as well. Weighing only 13.9 pounds, the vacuum offers the same level of easiness of maneuverability. The lift-away and swivel steering operations are equally swift.

Shark NV354 is also incredibly lightweight

What makes Shark NV352 the winner of this round is its more secure design of the joint between the flexible hose and the nozzles or accessories that come with the vacuum. For example, I tried to connect the crevice tool to the hose of the NV352 and NV354, and it feels more secure with the Shark NV352. On NV354, it tends to slip off and fall if I don’t twist or secure it very tightly.
