Shark NV352 vs LA322: It was difficult for me to decide the overall winner as they are comparable in most respects. But at the end of the day, I decided to give the winning ticket to the first one.

The Shark NV352, with its superior suction, can suck up all small- to medium-sized debris on both hard floors and carpets with just one pass. So it’s the perfect choice for houses with a combination of different surface types.

The Shark LA322 has slightly less suction power, but the difference is not too significant to make it far behind the winner. If you are looking for a convenient and effective upright vacuum, you can’t go wrong with it!

Shark NV352 vs LA322: Differences

The Shark NV352 wins 2-1 and ties one against the LA322. The first one has slightly better cleaning performance and has a larger dust cup. But this machine lacks LED headlights, a nice feature that could make it better.

Cleaning Performance

Winner: Shark NV352

First, there’s no denying that the Shark NV352 vs NV356 have impressive cleaning performance on both hard floors. They are even more powerful than most models in the same price range.

In my tests, they easily sucked up nearly all small- to medium-sized debris without making a second pass. They struggled a bit more with larger debris, but I could get the job done with ease by using their wands with the same design.

But I found the NV352 to be more efficient, and this hypothesis was confirmed after I measured their suction power and airflow. The Shark NV352 had an airflow of 61 CFM, while the LA322 was 44 CFM. In addition, their suction power is 89″ and 84″, respectively. This difference was most evident in my carpet deep clean test, where suction power is matter.

For my hair removal test, both Shark NV352 vs LA322 have bad performance as they lack anti-hair wrap technology. There was a large amount of hair that wrapped around their brush rolls, and I had to pull them out with my hands. So if you’re looking for something to deal with the mess left behind by your four-legged friends, go for a model with Zero-M technology.

Dimensions And Weight

Winner: Tie

The dimensions of Shark NV352 vs LA322 are 15 x 11.4 x 45.5 inches and 10 x 12 x 46.5 inches, respectively. They are pretty bulky, which is not unusual for upright vacuums. So, I usually don’t care too much about their size, but instead, I usually pay more attention to their weight.

Fortunately, these two machines are both light with roughly the same weight. The NV352 weighs 12.5 lbs, while the LA322 is slightly lighter at 12.4 lbs. That’s a nice thing since you won’t want to lug a heavy vacuum around every day to clean your home. Maneuvering them is also a piece of cake, thanks to the swivel steering feature.

Dust Tank And Power Cord

Winner: NV352

Dust cup capacity and power cord length are also two factors that should be considered since they also significantly affect your vacuuming experience.

Both Shark NV352 vs LA322 share a 25-foot power cord, which I consider on the short side. I had to switch between outlets a few times during testing, which was a bit annoying. There were even areas I couldn’t reach, and I had to use an extension cord. An extra 5 to 10 feet will probably make these machines better.

Regarding dust cup capacity, the NV352 comes with a 1.1-quart dust cup, which is slightly larger than the 0.9-quart dirt bin of the LA322. The difference is not significant, and they are somewhat large. Removing and emptying them also happens in a snap.

Utilities

Winner: Shark LA322

One thing that the LA322 has over the NV352 is it has LED headlights in front of its nozzle. It illuminates the cleaning path very well, enabling you to clean any area with suitable lighting. Spending a few extra bucks to get this nice-to-have feature is, to my mind, a good deal.

Shark NV352 vs LA322: Similarities

Filter

Shark NV352 vs LA322 has HEPA filters to capture most dirt particles and allergens present in the air. Better yet, they are washable, and you should wash them once a year or more often, depending on how often you use the vacuum.

Most vacuum cleaners can pick up dust and debris with a certain degree of efficiency, but they won’t get their job done if they let the dirt escape through cracks in the body.

I bet Shark has realized the importance of this, which is why most Shark upright vacuums are equipped with anti-allergen complete seal technology, and the Shark NV352 vs LA322 is no exception. This technology prevents sucked air from escaping before it is properly filtered by HEPA filters.

Lift Away Feature

Both the Shark NV352 vs LA322 can be used as a semi-handheld vacuum by lifting the pod from the floorhead. As for the NV352, you will need to press a red button on the body and detach the pod simultaneously. Meanwhile, to use the NV352 in its Lift-Away configuration, you’ll need to step on the pedal to lift its canister out.

Surface-Type Settings

We all know cleaning hard floors and carpets is not the same, and both Shark NV352 vs LA322 give you two surface-type settings, which you can choose depending on the type of surface you are cleaning. You’ll need to push a red switch on the body to change between settings or to turn off the vacuum when not in use. If only this switch were on the handle since bending over can be a big minus for people with back pain.

Alternatively, you can also adjust the vacuum’s suction power by turning the collar on the handle of the NV352 or togging a slider on the handle of the LA322.
