Get ready to dive into the ultimate showdown between two powerful cleaning machines – Shark NV351 vs NV352! These two vacuums have a lot in common, but which one will come out on top? After a long inspection and testing against messy floors and carpets of different textures, I have been convinced that NV352 is the better choice despite the two belonging to the same product line!

Why? The Shark NV352 emerges as the winner in this showdown due to its stable cleaning performance and more lightweight swivel steering. Additionally, it comes with a wider range of accessories, making it a more versatile cleaning tool for tackling different surfaces and types of debris. This one should have your attention if you need a vacuum that can deal with dust, debris, and hair.

The Shark NV351 is somehow heavier compared to NV352. Since it doesn’t come with the crevice or upholstery tool, this may restrict its cleaning ability and versatility against larger debris or areas. Still, it’s an affordable vacuum that I believe is still worth the small investment. It has good suction and can deal with pet hair to a certain level.

Shark NV351 vs NV352: Differences

Shark NV352 wins 2-0 and ties twice against Shark NV351. As I have explained, there aren’t many differences between them, but the gap in weight and accessories is quite major. So check out my full review below!

Cleaning performance

Tie

The Shark NV352 is a versatile and powerful vacuum cleaner that is designed to clean various surfaces and types of debris. Its cleaning performance is quite impressive, thanks to its powerful suction and advanced brush roll technology. With a 10-amp motor, this vacuum cleaner can generate strong suction that effectively pulls dirt and debris from carpets, hardwood floors, and other surfaces.

The same goes for NV351. This vacuum can clean different floor types. From my experience with this vacuum and its opponent above, they work well with low-pile carpets and hard floors. On high-pile rugs, I adjust the cleaning mode to the carpet, but the movement is slightly restricted. Nonetheless, the general population can definitely work with both devices.

Additionally, the vacuums have a unique lift-away design, which allows you to easily detach the canister from the base and use it to clean hard-to-reach areas such as stairs, upholstery, and tight corners. So you can expect to lift it around to clean staircases.

Consider carefully if the surface you are going to work with is a sealed floor. The bristles from the brushrolls and the wheels aren’t the gentlest on this sensitive floor type. But if your house has common flooring with tiles or normal wood types, there shouldn’t be any problem.

Filtration system and dirt bin

One of the key features that set these models apart is their filtration system. Both the NV352 and NV351 feature a HEPA filtration system, which stands for High-Efficiency Particulate Air. This type of filter is designed to trap small particles and allergens, such as pet dander, dust mites, and pollen, that may be present in your home.

The filter is located at the front of the machines. You can find it after the panel with rows and columns of holes. It would be best if you washed it and the premotor filters frequently to ensure that the filtration performance is the best. This will prevent allergens and airborne particles from entering the air due to inefficient filtration.

I suggest cleaning them after every 2 uses gently, and it’s best to replace both the premotor and post-motor every 3 months, or slightly more if you don’t use the device frequently. At least replace them twice yearly if you truly care about the cleaning performance and air quality.

Additional nozzles/accessories

Winner: Shark NV352

Shark NV352 comes in a box with crevice and upholstery tools alongside the obvious floor nozzle with an active brushroll.

The crevice tool is designed to reach tight and hard-to-reach areas, such as corners, edges, baseboards, or gaps between furniture. The tool’s slim profile allows it to fit into small spaces and effectively remove dust, dirt, and debris. It’s particularly useful for cleaning along the edges of walls, around appliances, or inside car interiors.

The upholstery tool is designed for cleaning delicate surfaces such as sofas, chairs, mattresses, curtains, and other fabric-based materials. The tool features a wide cleaning head with gentle bristles that help lift dirt, dust, and pet hair from soft surfaces without causing damage. This attachment is especially useful for pet owners or households with allergy sufferers, as it can help remove allergens from upholstered furniture and other surfaces.

As for NV351, it doesn´t come with any extra accessories. You can only enjoy the floor nozzle with a roller with this model. So in terms of versatility and cleaning ability against different materials, NV352 is considerably better.

Design and convenience

Winner: Shark NV352

The Shark NV352 weighs approximately 12.5 pounds, making it lighter than the NV351. This reduction in weight makes it easier for users to lift, carry, and maneuver the vacuum cleaner around the house. The lighter design also reduces the strain on the user’s arms, shoulders, and back, especially during extended cleaning sessions.

It’s really strange because these vacuums look exactly the same. But the weight and maneuverability are different. So if you prefer a more lightweight vacuum, it’s best to go with Shark NV352.

With that said, there is a small disadvantage to its lightness. When you remove the pod from the wand and floor nozzle and place it on the floor for more freedom of movement, the pod may flip backward if there is no trash inside to secure its position due to it being lightweight. Of course, it’s not something that happens far too often.
