Shark Navigator vs Rotator: These are two quite famous upright lines from Shark, and I will pick out the two most representative products corresponding to these lines: Shark NV360 and Shark NV752.

The Shark NV752 is a 3-in-1 vacuum that is undoubtedly significantly better than its competitor. It’s not perfect, and there are some things it could do better. But for the money I spent on it, I couldn’t help but love it.

The Shark NV360 is on the basic side. And if you don’t expect too many features in a budget-oriented upright vacuum, it’s for you. Its main selling points are lightweight, portable configuration, and a quality filter system.

Shark Navigator vs Rotator: Differences

The Shark NV752 wins 2-1 against the NV360. It seems that the Shark NV752 is more expensive than the NV360 mainly because it has more cool features. The former generally is powerful, efficient, multifunctional, and is a gift from god.

Cleaning Performance

Winner: Tie

The Shark NV752’s suction is amazing, allowing it to work great on my carpet and bare floor. For the best results with the floor, I turned off the power brush using a small slide switch on the handle. I also used the hard floor hero tool, one of the best attachments out there, and it really helped a lot.

This model features a built-in propulsion system so that the unit can pull forward itself for ease pushing across a thick carpet. My carpet looked so good, and I was really happy and still shocked at how much dirt and dust bunnies get into it. I even tested it on a thick carpet that not every vacuum could handle, but this one could, although pushing it was a daunting task.

The NV752’s brush roll works fine, and the floorhead is easy to detach and clean. It is a bit louder than some vacuums I’ve tested, but this is actually a compliment to its suction power.

I would probably have ended the cleaning performance review of the NV752 with a perfect score if a large amount of hair didn’t get stuck in its brush. Like all vacuums without a self-cleaning roller, it couldn’t avoid winding hair in its roller.

I was also pleasantly surprised that the suction of the NV360 is so terrific. It was effective at picking up things on bare floors and carpets (In case you don’t know, remember to turn off the brush roll and use only suction for cleaning the hard surface).

Because of its strong suction, the NV360 seemed like it was self-propelled, so I initially struggled to pull this vacuum on the carpet. Thankfully, unlike some other users, I read the instructions and then knew this problem could be quickly remedied by reducing the suction using a collar that’s near the handle. Rotate clockwise for more suction and counterclockwise for less. This is a pretty easy way to reduce suction on an upright vacuum. In my opinion, a 1/6th turn was enough to reduce the suction so I could maneuver it around freely without fighting against it again.

Like the Shark NV752, it picked up hair well, but a large amount of long hair got stuck on its roller. So at the end of the day, you will need the help of a pair of scissors to remove everything from its brush.

Design and Cleanability

Winner: Tie

Weight and Maneuverability

The NV752 is a bit top-heavy at 16.7 pounds, which might feel awkward for many users, but I quickly got used to it. It was still easy to maneuver around objects with minimal effort, and its ergonomic handle was easy on my hands. It is suitable for daily use without the risk of fatigue or shoulder injury. The canister was quite heavy to lug around, but I used the “Lift Off” mode to reach low places more easily.

The NV360 weighs 15.96 pounds. This machine was a bit lighter but still bulky and clunky. It still worked well as long as I put in the effort. It couldn’t stand up itself like most uprights, and it just fell over while vacuuming with its hose or storing it. So I had to lean it in a closet to avoid falling over. The best part is turns and pivots incredibly easily, thanks to the swivel steering.

Cord Length

The NV360 features a 25-foot cord, which is on the short side, and 5 to 10 feet longer would make it better. The NV752’s cord, on the other hand, is 30 feet long. It has allowed me to clean multiple rooms before unplugging the vacuum and looking for the next outlet, which was definitely not possible with NV360 and many other vacuums.

Filter System And Dust Cup Capacity

Both the NV752 and NV360 are equipped with a flawless filtration system, a combination of some washable filters (including a HEPA filter), and anti-allergen complete seal technology. This combination ensures 99.9% of dirt and allergens stay inside the unit. But if only their dust canisters were bigger!

Their dirt cups are laughably small. I couldn’t vacuum more than two large rooms without emptying the dirt bin at least once. The HEPA filter and system seal are for naught if dust and dirt escape back into the air with every empty. This is a pretty hefty negative for me. So I did wear a mask just out of caution.

Utilities

Winner: Shark NV752

Led Lights

The NV752 features some lights on both the front and the wand, allowing you to see the dirt and crumbs, and dust bunnies in dark areas. Unfortunately, the NV360 has no LEDs at all.

Alternate Configuration

For areas that are higher or hard to reach, you can transfer either of these machines into a semi-handheld vacuum by lifting the canister away, and that’s the only thing you can do with the NV360.

The NV752 can instantly be transformed into a canister vacuum with a powered floor nozzle using a caddy for effortless cleaning throughout your home. Also, this wheeled base can hold all your favorite attachments, so they are always available.

Better yet, the NV752 can also be converted to a stick vacuum, thanks to the Powered Lift-Away feature, making vacuuming under furniture easier and faster. It initially came to me as a powered lawn mower and took me by surprise.

Controls

The NV360 has a switch on the body that you can use to toggle between two settings: “Bare Floor” and ” Brushroll on,” or turn off the vacuum. It has a collar on the handle, and you can rotate it counterclockwise to reduce the suction power.

The NV752’s ability to turn the vacuum on/off and switch between surface-type settings on the handle is a big plus since I really hate having to bend over or make an additional motion to do that. But its on/off button was a bit weird, and I had to hold it down for seconds to turn on/off the vacuum, meaning there was a delay. Moreover, it lacks a ring that can be used to adjust the suction.
