This article compares the Shark IZ363HT vs Shark IZ163H cordless vacuum cleaners. I aim to help readers make an informed decision by highlighting the differences between these two popular models.
The Shark IZ363HT stands out as the winner with its impressive run time of nearly 50 minutes, easy maneuverability with maneuver wheels, and effective cleaning performance thanks to Duoclean Technology and pet hair removal capabilities.
While the Shark IZ163H is the runner-up, it still offers convenient features like MultiFLEX technology for cleaning under furniture and compact storage. Its run time of approximately 30 minutes and adaptability to different power modes make it suitable for smaller cleaning tasks or spaces.

Shark IZ363HT Vs Shark IZ163H: Differences
I have compared the Shark IZ363HT and the Shark IZ163H, two cordless vacuum cleaners with different features and performances. The Shark IZ363HT clearly outperforms the Shark IZ163H regarding suction power and battery life, winning two categories and tying in one.
Cleaning performance
The winner: Shark IZ363HT
Starting with the Shark IZ163H, its suction power might not be ideal for deep cleaning carpets. If you have carpets that require heavy-duty suction, you might need a vacuum with greater capacity. However, the IZ163H is still effective in picking up crumbs and other small particles from carpets and rugs, providing a quick clean-up solution.
Speaking from personal experience, I live in a small two-bedroom apartment with high traffic, and I have a dirt driveway that brings in an astonishing amount of dirt and debris. It’s quite a hassle, and I find myself vacuuming 2-5 times a day. But I must say, this vacuum does an impressive job of getting all the dirt and dust off my kitchen floor and even my entry mat. The IZ163H performs exceptionally well on hardwood and linoleum-like flooring too.
However, there is one slight inconvenience when dealing with stuffed toy fuzz from dog toys. I had to flip the toy over a few times to remove pieces bigger than a quarter. But thankfully, it turned out to be a simple task, although a bit annoying because I had to clean out the dust bucket before it would pick up more.
Nonetheless, if you need to pick up dog hair daily, this vacuum handles it like a pro. Personally, for the toy stuffing, I prefer to use my little shop vac. It’s a matter of personal preference and convenience.
Now, let’s shift our attention to the Shark IZ363HT. This vacuum boasts ample suction power to pick up litter, cat food crumbs, and other small items. However, there is one caveat. It works best when vacuuming in a forward motion. If you pull the vacuum backward, you might experience some of those previously collected items spitting back out. So, keep that in mind while using it.
As for my living situation, I have a large open-concept space comprising a living room, kitchen, and dinette area. Before I had this vacuum, it would take me a considerable amount of time to sweep this entire area, roughly around 45 minutes to an hour.
But with the IZ363HT, I can cover this vast space, along with two carpeted bedrooms and two tile bathrooms, in under that time. Moreover, the vacuum effortlessly switches between modes, smoothly transitioning from LVP and tile surfaces to the carpet. I must say, I’m thoroughly impressed with its suction power in both modes.
When it comes to cleaning low-pile carpets, the IZ363HT does a decent job when used in its carpet surface setting with the ‘MAX’ suction trigger pulled. It effectively clears away fine materials like baking soda and larger debris like sand. After just a few passes, there may still be some visible debris left behind. It isn’t perfect, but it does the job quite well.
It effortlessly picks up dirt, dog hair, and even stuffing from torn-up dog toys. It’s also handy for tackling leaves and other miscellaneous items that find their way indoors.

Maneuverability
The Shark IZ163H offers MultiFLEX technology, allowing you to bend the wand for easier cleaning under furniture and fold it over for compact, freestanding storage. This flexibility in maneuvering is a handy feature, especially when it comes to reaching those hard-to-access areas without the need to rearrange your furniture. Many elderly have expressed their satisfaction with this bending action, considering it the best solution for cleaning under furniture efficiently.
Meanwhile, the Shark IZ363HT emphasizes its lightweight design, contributing to its overall maneuverability. Additionally, the floor vacuum attachment of the IZ363HT is equipped with easy maneuver wheels, enhancing its ability to glide smoothly across different surfaces. These wheels make it effortless to navigate around your home, ensuring a hassle-free cleaning experience.
When comparing these features, it becomes a matter of personal preference and specific cleaning needs. If reaching under furniture without rearranging it is a priority, the MultiFLEX technology of the IZ163H is a standout choice. However, if overall ease of movement and sleek and compact design is crucial, the IZ363HT, with its maneuver wheels, also provides a compelling advantage.
Battery
You may know that cordless and corded vacuum differs in whether they use battery or not. That is why long battery life is critical when buying a new product. After testing these two models, I have some reviews here.
First up, the IZ163H. It’s a worthy vacuum, but the battery life leaves something to be desired. With a run time of only 30 minutes, I found myself having to charge it every couple of days. And if you have a larger home like mine (around 1700 sq ft), it might not even last for a full cleaning session. So if you like to get all your cleaning done in one go, this might not be the best option.
On the contrary, the IZ363HT model has a much better battery life! It has a 2450 mAh battery and can run for nearly 50 minutes. I used it for a solid 40 minutes straight and still had some battery life left when I was done. I’m not sure exactly how long it took to recharge, but a couple of hours after I put it on the charger, the LEDs were off, indicating that it was fully recharged.
Utility
The winner: Shark 363HT
Attachments play a crucial role in the versatility and functionality of cordless vacuums. Let’s delve into the available attachments for the Shark IZ163H and the Shark IZ363HT!
The Shark IZ163H comes with two attachments: the Crevice Tool and the Pet Multi-tool. The Crevice Tool is designed to reach narrow and tight spaces, such as gaps between furniture or corners that are challenging to access. It allows for thorough cleaning in hard-to-reach areas.
As the name suggests, the Pet Multi-tool is specifically tailored for pet owners. It effectively captures and removes stubborn pet hair from various surfaces, ensuring a clean and hair-free environment.
On the other hand, the Shark IZ363HT offers a broader range of attachments. In addition to the Crevice Tool and Pet Multi-tool, it includes the Dusting Brush and the Anti-Allergen Brush. The Dusting Brush is ideal for delicate surfaces that require gentle cleanings, such as shelves, blinds, or electronics. It helps remove dust without causing any damage.
The Anti-Allergen Brush is designed to provide deep cleaning while also capturing and trapping allergens, making it particularly beneficial for individuals with allergies or sensitivities.
