When it comes to reliable and powerful cordless vacuums, Shark has established itself as a leading brand in the market. In this comparison article, I dive into the Shark IZ362H vs IZ363HT models to determine which truly outperforms the competition.
The Shark IZ363HT is the winner of this comparison due to its powerful suction and advanced features. This model comes with a high-performance motor that can easily pick up dirt and debris from carpets, hardwood floors, and other surfaces. It also features a removable battery with up to 50 minutes of runtime on a single charge.
While the Shark IZ362H claims the top spot, the Shark IZ362H is a worthy runner-up. This model boasts a reliable run time of 30 minutes, suitable for most everyday cleaning tasks. In addition, its compact design and lightweight construction make it highly maneuverable, allowing you to reach those tight spots effortlessly.

Shark IZ362H Vs IZ363HT: Differences
This comparison of Shark IZ362H and Shark IZ363HT shows that the latter is the superior option, winning 2-0. This is due to its impressive performance and variety of attachments.
Cleaning performance
The winner: Shark IZ363HT
When comparing the cleaning performance of the Shark IZ362H and the Shark IZ363HT, there are notable differences to consider. The IZ362H exhibits good suction power but requires holding the extra power trigger to maintain optimal performance. In addition, I can realize a decrease in suction over time due to the rubber gasket of the dirty cup no longer being airtight.
However, it handles thick carpets and rugs surprisingly well, with its rollers reaching deep into the fibers and capturing dirt and hair. Despite lacking self-propelling capabilities on thick carpets, a slight backward tilt combined with a little effort allows for smooth gliding and thorough cleaning.
On the other hand, the Shark IZ363HT boasts plenty of suction power and excels at picking up litter, crumbs, and other small debris. However, you need to note that when pulling the vacuum backward, some of the collected debris may spit back out, requiring additional passes for complete removal.
While the vacuum easily transitions between different surfaces and flooring types, the small hole at the bottom where dirt and trash enter poses a potential challenge. If something too large gets sucked up and lodged, disassembling the vacuum becomes necessary to retrieve it.
Regarding cleaning efficiency, the Shark IZ363HT has impressed me by significantly reducing cleaning time for large open areas, carpeted bedrooms, and tile bathrooms. It smoothly switches between modes, tackling different flooring surfaces with commendable suction power.
Nevertheless, the IZ363HT’s performance on low-pile carpeting is satisfactory but not exceptional. While it effectively removes fine materials like baking soda and larger debris like sand, a noticeable amount remains after only a few passes, especially when utilizing the ‘MAX’ suction trigger.
Considering these factors, the Shark IZ363HT appears to offer a more reliable and versatile cleaning performance overall. Its strong suction power, efficient mode transitions, and time-saving capabilities make it a suitable choice for a range of cleaning tasks. However, it’s essential to be mindful of its limitations.
Design and convenience
The winner: Shark IZ363HT
Battery
With the Shark IZ362H, I was able to vacuum my entire house, which consists of all hardwoods and spans roughly 1500 sq ft, without the battery dying. That was definitely a good thing, and I was satisfied with that!
However, according to the manual, when using it as a hand vac, it works for up to 40 minutes, but actually, only 25 minutes on bare floors and 20 minutes during carpet mode. Besides, the boost mode with the handheld configuration only works for 10 minutes on a full battery. So I do wish the battery life was longer.
Meanwhile, the Shark IZ363HT has a battery capacity of 2450 mAh, which allows it to run for nearly 45-50 minutes. When I used it for 40 minutes straight, the battery still charged when I was done. I noticed that the LED indicators were off, indicating a full recharge.
Comparing the two, the Shark IZ363HT clearly offers better battery performance. With a longer run time, it outperforms the Shark IZ362H, which has varying run times depending on the mode and configuration used.
Attachment
Both models have a crevice tool, an anti-allergen brush, and a pet multi-tool, which are useful for cleaning hard-to-reach areas and removing pet hair from upholstery and carpets. The crevice tool has a flexible hose that can bend and extend to access narrow spaces and corners.
The pet multi-tool has a detachable brush that can be used as an upholstery tool or a stiff bristle brush. The anti-allergen brush has a self-cleaning feature that prevents hair wrap and maintains suction power.
However, the Shark IZ363HT also has a dusting brush has soft bristles that gently clean delicate items and furniture. It can also be attached to the wand or the handheld vacuum for more reach and flexibility. These additional tools make the Shark IZ363HT more versatile and effective for various cleaning tasks.
