Shark is a leading cleaning product brand known for its innovative and top-quality vacuums. In this article, I will compare two of Shark’s stick vacuums: the Shark IX141 vs IZ363HT.
The Shark IZ363HT is a cordless stick vacuum that has several notable features. First, a removable battery provides up to 50 minutes of runtime on a single charge. This lets you clean large areas without worrying about the battery dying mid-clean. Another key feature of the Powerfins technology, which can deep clean carpets and effectively remove large and small particles from hard floors.
While the Shark IZ363HT is an excellent vacuum, the Shark IX141 has some features that make it a close runner-up. For one, the IZ363HT has a unique Anti-Allergen Complete Seal technology, which captures and traps 99.9% of dust, dirt, and allergens inside the vacuum. Additionally, it allows for easy and hygienic emptying.

Shark IX141 Vs IZ363HT: Differences
Thanks to its exceptional suction power and impressive run time, the Shark IZ363HT takes the lead with a score of 2-0 and ties once against Shark IX141, making it the winner of our comparative review.
Cleaning performance
The winner: Shark IZ363HT
Suction power and brush roll system
When it comes to vacuum cleaners, one of the most important features is the suction, and this is where the Shark IX141 and Shark IZ363HT excel with their hypervelocity suction technology. This advanced technology creates a powerful suction that quickly and easily removes dirt and debris from floors and other surfaces, making these vacuums ideal choices for those with high cleaning demands.
Another important aspect of vacuum cleaners is the brush roll, as this plays a critical role in how well the vacuum can handle hair wrap and other debris. The Shark IX141 comes with a standard brush roll, which may require regular maintenance to cut off hair that wraps around it. On the other hand, the Shark IZ363HT boasts a Powerfins brush roll which promises to handle hair and other debris without any hassle.
It’s worth noting that the hole sizes on these vacuums where the dirt and trash are collected are also different. The Shark IZ363HT has a smaller hole than the Shark IX141, which means that if you mistakenly suck any large object that can not pass through the hole, you will have to take some time the vacuum apart to get it out.
Compatible floor type
Regarding specific cleaning requirements, the Shark IX141 has a few limitations. For instance, it may struggle with certain carpet types, such as those with little divots, where crumbs and debris can get trapped. As a result, one may need to activate the extra suction trigger to get the dirt up in such cases.
While this model might not be the most optimal choice for cleaning small area rugs, as it may struggle to pick up debris efficiently, it does outperform when it comes to cleaning hard surfaces. However, there are still some challenges when eliminating debris in hard-to-reach areas like corners and walls.
On the other hand, the Shark IZ363HT is a powerhouse for cleaning large spaces. I could clean their open-concept living room, kitchen, and dinette area, along with two carpeted bedrooms and two tile bathrooms, all in under an hour!
Although it may not be the most effective at cleaning low-pile carpets, with its ‘MAX’ suction trigger pulled, it can still clear away the majority of fine materials like baking soda and larger debris like sand. However, some debris may be left behind after a pass or two.
Pet hair performance
The Shark IX141 does a fantastic job at removing pet hair and cat litter with ease. It’s simply incredible! However, there are a few downsides that can make you feel perplexed.
Firstly, when cleaning the couch, it requires a lot of repeated effort to get pet hair off. It can be quite frustrating and time-consuming. Furthermore, our hard floors are prone to showing dirt and hair easily, and it takes a couple of swipes to remove pet hairs completely.
The Shark IZ363HT is a total game-changer in pet hair performance. With four cats and a large dog in my home, I can confidently say that this vacuum cleaner has exceeded all my expectations. Its powerful suction and efficient brush roll untangling capabilities make it easy to save time on cleaning.
Design and convenience
Tie!
Dirt bin capacity
While plenty of people talk about these vacuums’ suction power and battery life, I found that there’s not as much information available about their dirt bin capacity.
After some digging, I discovered that the Shark IX141 has a dirt bin capacity of 0.4 quarts, while the Shark IZ363HT has a slightly smaller capacity of 0.34 quarts. This may not seem like a big difference, but it can make a noticeable impact on the overall performance of the vacuum, particularly if you’re dealing with a lot of debris.
Battery
Starting with the Shark IX141, it comes with a 21.6 V battery that takes around 240 minutes to charge fully. In reality, the battery lasts for around 30 minutes, enough for me to clean one carpeted bedroom, an area rug, and the rest of the tile floors. However, the long charge time can be a bit of a downside, especially when traveling to places like Bergen, where it takes over two hours to fly charge.
Meanwhile, the Shark IZ363HT boasts a 2450 mAh battery that can run for nearly 50 minutes. I recently used it for 40 minutes, and the battery still charged when I was done. Although I’m not sure how long it took to recharge, I noticed that the LEDs were off a couple of hours after it was on the charger, indicating that it was fully recharged.
The battery life of a vacuum cleaner is a crucial factor that can affect its performance and convenience. In this regard, the Shark IZ363HT has a clear advantage over the Shark IX141. Its long battery life and faster charging time make it a more efficient and reliable cleaning tool.
Utility
The winner: Shark IZ363HT
In terms of the Shark IX141, this vacuum cleaner comes with a crevice tool and pet multi-tool attachment that, unfortunately, falls short when compared to some of Shark’s past pet hair attachments. For example, previous models had self-powered rotating brushes that were more efficient at removing pet hair. In contrast, the current attachment is simply plastic and bristles, which, in my opinion, does not warrant the high price tag.
Whereas the Shark IZ363HT has three powerful attachments contributing to its superior pet hair performance. The anti-allergen dust brush, pet multi-tool, and crevice tool provide an unmatched cleaning experience.
The anti-allergen dust brush is specifically designed to capture allergens and other fine particles that may be present in pet hair. Meanwhile, the pet multi-tool has a powerful brush roll that can handle even the most stubborn pet hair. Finally, like its rival, the crevice tool is designed to reach tight spaces and corners, ensuring no pet hair is left behind.
