Therefore, the result can be considered a draw, and the choice between the two models ultimately depends on individual preferences and specific cleaning needs.
Dimension and weight
The winner: Shark HV371
As a user of the Shark HV371 and HV372 vacuum models, I would like to discuss my experiences with their dimension and weight features. The Shark HV371 has dimensions of 14.57 inches in length, 10.24 inches in width, and 48.43 inches in height, weighing 8.58 pounds. Meanwhile, the Shark HV372 has the same dimensions but with a slightly heavier weight of approximately 9.9 pounds.
In my opinion, these models’ dimensions and weight features are noteworthy. The Shark HV371’s lightweight feature is a plus point for those who prefer a more portable vacuum cleaner. In addition, the 8.58 pounds weight makes it easier to carry around, especially for those who need to clean multiple areas at once.
On the other hand, the Shark HV372’s weight may be a disadvantage to some users who find it challenging to lift and move, particularly in tight spaces and stairs. Though the added weight may translate to more suction power, it can strain your arms and back and reduce flexibility and mobility, making the cleaning experience less enjoyable.
Attachments
The winner: Shark HV372
Shark HV371 comes equipped with several attachments, such as a crevice tool, upholstery tool, anti-allergen dust brush, and pet multi-tool. However, while utilizing the Shark HV371, I experienced difficulty cleaning the round beds of the cat trees due to the short length of the attachments.
The pet attachment was too small to access the depth of the beds, which is approximately four inches, and the handheld part was also bulky. As a result, I found it to be extremely inconvenient and felt that the cleaning was not as thorough as with the canister vacuum hose and its attachment.
In my attempt to vacuum behind the headboard, the crevice tool of the Shark HV371 proved to be inadequate in length. Besides, the bulky handheld prevented me from getting close enough to clean the area properly. However, it was still effective in cleaning under the beds, but not suitable for cleaning under the sofa.
In contrast, the Shark HV372 has a crevice tool and an upholstery tool. But it didn’t work the same way as the HV371. It had fewer attachments, but they were better at getting into tight spots and making the couch look nice and clean.
