For the comparison of Shark CU510 vs NV360, it is quite difficult to spot the difference and decide which model is better. Finally, I decided it is a tie in this comparison.
To me, the Shark NV360 has the ability to turn off the brush roll, leading to more efficient cleaning of hardwood floors. It also has more accessories than the CU510. Thus, the NV360 brings greater convenience to the cleaning process.
On the other hand, the Shark CU510 is a more affordable model to go for. It has strong suction and brushroll shutoff functionality, just like the NV360. It also has a larger XL dirt cup capacity but lacks accessories for multi-surface cleaning. With the lower price, the CU510 would be a great option for your budget.

Shark CU510 vs NV360: Differences
In the Shark CU510 vs NV360 comparison, I observed that they performed comparable cleaning results. Besides, in terms of dirt bin capacity, the CU510 wins, while the NV360 has more attachments. Thus, the comparison result is a tie!
Cleaning performance
Tie!
Suction power and control
The Shark NV360 and CU510 both feature the same motor power of 1200 W, indicating that they perform the same strong suction strength. I tested cleaning the carpet with both machines, and the results were similar. They suck in a surprising amount of dirt and pet hairs from my medium-pile carpet.
Besides, owing to their strong suction, I pulled my carpets off the floor several times, especially when vacuuming my small short-pile rugs and carpets. Moreover, on high-pile and thick, shaggy carpets, pushing these Shark vacuums is a strenuous task.
After reading the instruction, I finally know how to address such problems. It is possible to maneuver the vacuums comfortably just by simply reducing the suction. This suction adjustment feature can be accessed via the ‘Suction Release’ collar on the handheld of the Shark NV360 and CU510.
Brush roll
Both of them can shut off the brush roll when switching to the bare floor and locked in the upright position. With the brush roll on/off switch, going from carpets to bare floors and vice versa is like a breeze.
When the brush roll is still spinning when switching to the hard floor, it would reduce the pickup efficacy as the bristle scatters the debris particles behind. Additionally, if the brush keeps spinning at one spot while using the hose, it can induce the risk of ruining the surfaces.
Furthermore, their brush rolls work excellently on carpets, offering great deep cleaning efficiency. The brush-roll bristles dig deep into the carpet fibers, providing significant agitation to loosen the dirt and hair. Then their strong suction will support pulling all of the dirt from the carpet’s bottom layer.
Nevertheless, their brush rolls may be prone to clogging because of the hair wrap issue. Unlike the higher-price models, brush rolls of Shark NV360 and CU510 are not self-cleaning, resulting in getting the hair easily tangled. So, these brush rollers need frequent hair-clipping to prevent hair build-up and malfunction.
Dirt bin & Filtration
Winner: Shark CU510
The Shark CU510 has an XL dirt cup with a capacity of 2.2 quarts. Meanwhile, the Shark NV360 dirt bin is just 1.2 quarts. So, it is obvious that the dirt bin of the Shark CU510 is larger than that of the NV360.
For the filtration, both of them have identical ones. They come with the HEPA post-motor filter and washable pre-motor filters. Moreover, the Anti-Allergen Complete Seal technology is significantly efficient when coupled with the HEPA filter. This combination can reduce the number of allergens and microdust particles by 99.9%, which is ideal for users who suffer from allergies and asthma.
Utility
Winner: Shark NV360
Attachments
The lack of accessories in the Shark CU510 case is also a minus. This vacuum comes with a single crevice tool. Meanwhile, the NV360 model has an upholstery tool in addition to a crevice tool. Though it is not much, one more accessory can greatly support the cleaning of multiple surfaces.
Besides, the onboard tool storage on the CU510 is not convenient as that on the NV360. Particularly, after attaching the crevice tool to the holder, the tool is too close to the on/off and surface changing switch, making it difficult to access the switch while vacuuming. If you hold the crevice tool upward on the onboard storage, it will be close to the machine’s handle, causing it uncomfortable to control the vacuum cleaner.
However, both vacuum cleaners are easy to maneuver because they are lightweight and have swivel-steering joints for easy maneuvering around the corners and furniture.
