The Dyson V15 shines with its exclusive anti-tangle technology, an innovative piezo sensor, and an extremely handy LCD display. Meanwhile, the Samsung Jet 90 doesn’t lag behind, boasting a smart charging tower, a clean station, and various handy attachments.

Cleaning Performance

Suction Power & Floorhead
Currently, the Dyson V15 wears the crown as Dyson’s mightiest stick vacuum, having a top-notch suction power of 230 AW. On the other hand, the Samsung Jet 90 offers a remarkable 200 AW of maximum suction power, which is slightly inferior to the Samsung Bespoke Jet (210 AW) – Samsung’s reigning champ.
Both the Samsung Jet 90 vs Dyson V15 also come with two types of floorheads that are specifically crafted for carpets and hard floors. The Samsung Jet 90 comes out of the box with a Turbo Action Brush and a Soft Action Brush, whereas the Dyson V15 includes a Laser Slim Fluffy cleaner head and a Digital Motorbar cleaner head.
Hard Floor
I set each one to the highest power setting and used the soft roller and found them working great sublimely on this type of surface. They easily picked up all the debris, including the large ones, and left a spotless path behind. I was over the moon with the results!
Carpet
On my low-pile carpet, both could gather all the large debris in a single sweep effortlessly. But the Samsung Jet 90 left behind about 12% of the fine debris, while the Dyson V15 only overlooked a meager 2%. Likewise, on my high-pile carpet, all the large debris was also easily collected by both, but the Jet 90 left behind 8% of smaller debris, whereas the Dyson V15 only neglected 3%.
Hair Test
Both the Samsung Jet 90 vs Dyson V15 swiftly eliminated all the hair and fur from my carpet in a mere pass or two. However, the Dyson V15 nosed ahead with its anti-twist technology, which did a great job of mitigating the hair entanglement issue. At the end of the day, the amount of vacuumed hair clinging onto the Dyson V15’s multi-surface roller was markedly less than what was left on the Jet 90’s brush roll.
I also found the hair screw tool, which comes with the Dyson V15, truly did a great job of gathering hair from smaller surfaces, such as sofas and countertops, with zero tangled hair. So if you’re a pet owner, it’s clear as day that the Dyson V15 will be your best bet.

The Samsung Jet 90 comes with a self-standing charging station that provides a safe and orderly harbor for powering up the vacuum and storing a couple of attachments. This neat docking station also has a slot to juice up a spare battery, though you’ll have to buy this separately if necessary.
The Z charging station isn’t pre-assembled, so you’ll have to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty with some DIY steps before it’s up and running. Once fully assembled, this tower has a “Z” shape, as its name suggests.
On the downside, this tower takes up a considerable amount of space, requiring careful consideration to find the ideal placement. Such is life! You can’t have your cake and eat it, too. It’s also not the smartest charging tower I’ve ever touched – it doesn’t double as a charging station and a cleaning station like the Samsung Bespoke Jet, nor does it have the capacity to house all attachments like the LG Cordzero Kompressor‘s AIO tower. Anyway, it’s still a valuable asset for those who seek to sidestep the necessity of drilling into their walls. The Samsung Jet 90 has a telescopic wand that allows for shortening its vertical footprint for more compact storage.
On the other hand, the Dyson V15 comes with a wall mount as part of its package. Once securely fixed to the wall near an electrical outlet, it serves as both a storage and charging station for the vacuum. It is particularly advantageous for households with babies or furry companions, as it keeps the vacuum safely out of their reach while simultaneously maintaining a clutter-free floor.
Of course, if you have reservations about drilling into your walls, an alternative option is to store the Dyson V15 in a safe location and connect the charger directly to its battery.
Weight & Maneuverability
Samsung Jet 90 vs Dyson V15 weigh 6.87 and 6.7 pounds, respectively. There is a negligible difference in weight between the two, and I found them both easy to maneuver on the floor and around tight furniture.
It’s worth mentioning that I found the Dyson V15 a bit more top-heavy while it clearly lighter. Perhaps the Jet 90’s weight is better balanced. It is worth noting that although the Dyson V15 is slightly lighter, I did notice that it felt a bit more top-heavy – perhaps the weight of the Jet 90 seems to be better distributed, providing a more ergonomically pleasant experience. But in return, I discovered that the Dyson V15 allowed me to make sharp turns easier.
These machines possess the capability to be easily converted into handheld vacuums. Without the weight of the main nozzle, they are significantly lighter and ideal for tackling tasks like cleaning stairs and reaching high areas.
They can also generally lay completely flat on the ground to clean under furniture. In such dimly lit areas, Laser Detect technology on the V15’s fluffy cleaner head is very handy. I even found that it provided better visibility compared to any LED headlights currently available.
Battery Life
Both the Samsung Jet 90 and Dyson V15 are marketed to have a runtime of up to 60 minutes on their lowest power setting when used with non-motorized tools. I observed that when equipped with the multi-surface floorhead, their battery life depleted noticeably faster than the advertised duration.

These machines use removable batteries, so having a spare battery on hand makes sense. The Samsung Jet 90’s battery can be conveniently purchased from various sources, such as Amazon or Samsung’s original website. And as mentioned above, the Z station of the Jet 90 includes a slot specifically designed for the second battery, enabling the simultaneous charging of both batteries after each vacuuming session.
Likewise, the Dyson V15 is compatible with the Dyson V11’s click-in battery, which can also be found on Amazon and Dyson’s website. Its battery can be charged independently, so you can vacuum with one and leave the other charged by connecting it directly to the charger.
Dustbin & Filtration System
Winner: Samsung Jet 90
The Samsung Jet 90 boasts a 0.8-liter dust cup, while the Dyson V15’s holds slightly less at 0.75 liters. Both models feature relatively generous capacities, which means they can house a decent amount of debris and don’t require frequent emptying.
Emptying the Dyson V15’s dustbin is simple: just push the red lever down, and all the dust and dirt will be ejected. I had to do a few up-and-down movements to remove everything and even manually remove stuck items.
Manually emptying the Jet 90’s dust tank can be an intricate procedure. It involves removing the dust cup from the top portion, detaching the cyclone, and then turning it upside down to ensure that all dust and dirt are properly directed to the designated location. The worst part? It left my fingers a bit dirty.
Fortunately, it comes with a Clean Station, which is designed to simplify the process of emptying the Samsung 90’s dustbin. Just place the dust cup on top, and all the contents will automatically be sent to a disposable dust bag, which needs to be replaced with a new one after about 2-3 emptying cycles. If you have a severe allergy, I believe this tower will evoke a sense of gratitude in your heart toward the engineers at Samsung.
The Dyson V15 features a completely sealed system. Combined with a filter on the top of the handheld part, its filtration system can trap up to 99.97% of allergens and microscopic dust particles. Its filter is rinsable, and you should give it a clean under running water every time the LCD screen gives you a warning.
As for the Samsung Jet 90, its 5-layer filtration system is promoted as having the capability to filter up to 99.999% of microdust particles, providing a significant benefit for maintaining clean indoor air quality. This system includes a cyclone filter, a micro filter, and an ultra-fine dust (HEPA) filter. The first two filters are washable. To clean the HEPA filter, you will need to gently tap it in the trash can to remove any accumulated dust and dirt.

User Interface
The Jet 90 sports a sophisticated screen that is nothing short of eye candy. It kept me informed about the current power mode and alerted me when something was wrong with the roller or filter. But it doesn’t show how much battery life is left, which should be a must-have. Instead, the battery level is displayed by a trio of small LEDs on the battery.
The Dyson V15’s LCD screen, on the other hand, is somewhat more advanced and modern. It keeps you in the loop by displaying the battery life down to the minute, the power setting used, maintenance alerts, and particulate data. The cherry on top is that it displays the count and size of vacuumed dust particles via a bar graph. For me, it acted as a silent advisor and told me whether I should spend a few more minutes vacuuming a particular area.
Control Method
To turn on the Dyson V15 and keep it running, I had to hold it down repeatedly. Initially, I considered this an advantage because it allowed me to use the exact battery power required for my tasks. But in hindsight, I think it’s more of a “con” than a “pro” since it quickly fatigues my hands. Also, I had to use my other hand to press the button to switch between modes. It would be better if this button were within reach of my thumb.
On the flip side, all of the Jet 90’s control buttons are within reach of my thumb, and I love this. Just press the power button once to activate the vacuum, and it will work continuously until you press it again.
Auto Mode
The outstanding feature of the Dyson V15 is auto mode, where it can automatically adjust its suction based on the actual dust density detected by the piezo sensor. But it’s worth noting that this mode is only available when the vacuum is used with a floorhead or a motorized tool. Thus, when paired with a suction-only accessory, like a crevice tool or combination tool, it slips into the med mode, generating an unvarying suction.
Headlight
Another feature that gives the Dyson V15 an edge over the Samsung Jet 90 and even its predecessors is the Laser Detect tech, which is a petite green laser light on the Fluffy floorhead. I found it actually works, rather than just being merely a gimmick. To my mind, it surpasses the LED headlights of numerous other models out there in making dust and debris on the floor more noticeable.
