If you are after a quality cordless vacuum to help reduce your daily cleaning burden, my comparison of the Samsung Jet 90 vs Dyson V10 will come in handy. Both are great, but the first one is better.
The Samsung Jet 90 comes out as a winner with many pros: the cleaning station makes emptying the dust cup easy and hands-free; the self-standing charging station can store the vacuum without requiring wall drilling; and more.
Although the cordless Dyson V line has been supplemented by many newer models, believe me, the Dyson V10 is far from sinking into the past. It works well on both hard floors and carpets, and that alone is enough to make the hearts of many beat faster. Also, I was impressed with its set of attachments, which helped me get all cleaning tasks done without a problem.

Samsung Jet 90 Vs Dyson V10: Differences
The Samsung Jet 90 beat the Dyson V10 convincingly with a score of 4-0. It has better cleaning performance, is more convenient to store and charge the vacuum with the Z station, has a larger dust cup, hygienically empties its dust cup with the Clean Station, and more.
Cleaning Performance
Winner: Samsung Jet 90
Suction Power And Cleaning Heads
The Samsung Jet 90 Complete is much like the Dyson V15, including its maximum suction power. It has a peak suction power of 200 AW, making it one of the most powerful cord-free vacuums. Meanwhile, the Dyson V10 maxes out at 140 AW, lower than its successors.
In terms of floorhead, both the Samsung Jet 90 vs Dyson V10 come out of the box with a soft roller and a regular bush roll.
Samsung Jet 90 | Dyson V10 Absolute |
---|---|
Soft action brushroll Turbo action brushroll | Motorbar floorhead Soft roller floorhead |
Hard Floor
With its soft roller and insanely strong suction, it’s no surprise that the Samsung Jet 90 completely removed debris from my hard floors without making the second pass. This is an amazing result that is rarely achieved by cord-free vacuums.
On the other hand, the Dyson V10 also easily picked up almost all the small to medium debris in the first pass. There was a minor amount of small debris left behind, which is difficult to detect with the naked eye. Larger debris tended to create a slight clog, but I couldn’t replicate this clog consistently. So it seems to be something that would happen rarely.
Carpet
On my low-pile carpet, the Jet 90 easily picked up about 98-99% of medium to large debris with its turbo action brushroll and left just about 2% of small debris behind. It also performed well on the high-pile carpet, with an overall removal rate of up to 99%.
As for the Dyson V10, its cleaning performance is roughly the same on all carpets, with about 98% of debris being captured in the first pass – this is still an excellent result.
Hair
Both the Samsung Jet 90 vs Dyson V10 pick up all visible hair and fur on all surfaces, but there was a decent amount of hair that ended up on the roller of the multi-surface floorhead. So I had to take out the roller and untangle it regularly. The entire process is simple and only takes a few minutes. If you have to deal with large amounts of hair on a daily basis, you’ll want something equipped with anti-twist technology, such as the Dyson V15 or V12.

Attachments And Storage

If you don’t like the wall-hanging storage solution, the Samsung Jet 90 has got you covered since it includes a self-standing charging stand called Z Station. This storage stand can sit in any location, provided it isn’t a visual distraction, and provides a safe place to park the vacuum and store accessories on board.
What this Z station has in its favor is the ability to charge two batteries at once, so you can quickly have two fully charged batteries without charging them alternately (the secondary battery needs to be purchased separately). But it only has room for two accessories, so you need to put your two most used tools on it and find somewhere else to store the rest of them. Regarding storage, I love the LG CordZero’s All-In-One charging station, which can hide all attachments inside its casing, charge two batteries simultaneously, and automatically empty the dust cup.
On the flip side, the Dyson V10 comes with a wall-mounted charger, just like the other vacuums in the Dyson V cordless stick line. It provides a convenient place to park the vacuum when not in use and stores two attachments. And if you are against drilling into walls, you can buy a self-standing charging station for Dyson cordless vacuums.
Weight And Maneuverability
The Samsung Jet 90 weighs around 6.87 pounds, which is on par with the weight of the Dyson V15. But it looks like this model is well-balanced, so it felt like a toy in my hand. The Dyson V10 is slightly lighter at 5.9 pounds, which is on par with the weight of the LG CordZero Ultimate.
It will be a different picture when they are converted into hand vacuums by removing the wand. In this configuration, the vacuum was much easier to maneuver above my head. And combined with the proper accessories, I could vacuum higher areas, such as above shelves, door frames, or the ceiling, with ease.
The duo has extremely low-profile floorheads and can basically lay completely flat on the ground, so I easily vacuumed under my furniture without a hassle. But why do these high-end models lack headlights? Isn’t that a must-have for vacuums?
Battery Life And Charging
Samsung Jet 90 | Dyson V10 | |
---|---|---|
Battery Life | Low mode: ≈ 42 mins | Suction 1 mode: ≈ 49.5 mins |
Medium mode: ≈ 23 mins | Suction 2 mode: ≈ 26.5 mins | |
Maximum mode: ≈ 10 mins | Boost mode: ≈ 6 mins | |
Charging Time | ≈ 3.6 hours | ≈ 3.5 hours |
These tests were run with floorheads attached. So if used with suction-only attachments, these machines can run longer between charges.
Even if you aren’t constantly using the highest suction mode, I believe that one battery isn’t enough to get any cleaning job done. It will be annoying if your vacuum runs out of juice when you are in the middle of a busy cleaning schedule, right? That’s why I always recommend buying an extra battery, except for some models that come out of the box with two batteries, such as the Samsung Bespoke Jet or the Tineco A11 Master.
As mentioned above, Jet 90’s self-standing station has a slot for the spare battery, which means both batteries can be charged at the same time. The Dyson V10’s docking station can only charge each battery once, so you’ll need to charge two batteries alternately.
Dustbin and Filter System
Winner: Samsung Jet 90
The Dyson V10 has a large 0.75-liter dust cup, equivalent to the Dyson V15’s dustbin. The mechanism for emptying the cup is also similar: push down the red release slider under the unit, and the whole dust cup will slide down to expel all the contents inside. This dustbin is quite large, so there was almost no hair or debris stuck inside, which I encountered with the Dyson V12 dust tank many times.
As for the Samsung Jet 90, its dust cup is larger at 0.8 liters. It can hold more dust and dirt, resulting in fewer trips to the trash can to empty it, but unfortunately, emptying it is a bit awkward. You need to start by separating the dustbin from the handheld unit, removing the micro filter and cyclone filter assembly, and turning it upside down to empty the dust cup. To my mind, this is the most unfriendly emptying mechanism.
Don’t worry! It seems Samsung engineers thought like me, so they designed a unit called Clean Station. With the presence of this smart tower, the process of emptying the Samsung Jet 90’s dustbin is reduced to two simple steps: detach the cup and place it on the top of this unit. It has a disposable bag, similar to that of bagless vacuums, which needs to be replaced after several vacuuming cycles. You can easily buy them on Amazon or Samsung’s website.

Display Screen And On/Off Control
The Samsung Jet 90 has an LED screen that shows the current vacuuming mode and some alerts about filter maintenance, a clogged tube, or a stuck roller. My only gripe is that it lacks a countdown or something that shows the remaining running time. The Dyson V10 has no screen.
Another difference is the Dyson V10 features a trigger system to turn the vacuum on/off, while the Samsung Jet 90 uses a physical button for this purpose. I hate holding down the trigger for an extended period of time because it causes hand fatigue, but its battery-saving advantage is undeniable.
Noise
I tested the noise levels of these vacuums using an app that is about three inches away from the machine. And here are all the results:
Samsung Jet 90 | Dyson V10 |
---|---|
Low mode: ≈ 67 dB | Suction 1 mode: ≈ 75.2 dB |
Med mode: ≈ 73.5 dB | Suction 2 mode: ≈ 78.4 dB |
Maximum mode: ≈ 75 dB | Boost mode: ≈ 80.2 dB |
As you can see, the Dyson V10 is noticeably louder. I would never use it early in the morning unless I wanted to wake my whole family.
