The result of the comparison of the Samsung Jet 70 vs Dyson V12 Slim is that the V12 Slim is the winner.
I prefer the Dyson V12 Slim because it is lightweight and easy to handle on different surfaces. Besides, it has long battery runtime with an average charging time. Moreover, it has two cleaner heads, with one featuring a self-detangling design and one having laser lights for spotting dirt easily. Additionally, its intelligent dust sensor is unique and useful for optimizing cleaning efficiency.
Meanwhile, the Samsung Jet 70 turns out to be a good alternative with a softer price. The Jet 70 is compatible with a clean station to reduce the hassle of dust clouds when emptying the dust bin. Additionally, the Jet 70 works well on bare floors and low-pile carpets but is not good at picking up large debris like fruit loops. It does not have a self-cleaning brush roller, so it may be prone to hair clogging if it is not maintained properly.

Samsung Jet 70 vs Dyson V12 Slim: Differences
After a tough time considering Samsung Jet 70 vs Dyson V12 Slim, I decided that the Dyson V12 Slim is the winner with a score of 3-0 against the Jet 70. For me, the Dyson V12 Slim provides better cleaning satisfaction than the Samsung Jet 70. Moreover, the V12 Slim offers greater maneuvering experience and utility than the Jet 70. Meanwhile, they tie in the category of filtration systems and dust containers.
Cleaning performance
Winner: Dyson V12 Slim
The suction power of the Dyson V12 Slim and Samsung Jet 70 is great. They can easily pick up many types and different sizes of dust on carpeted and bare floors, such as hair, sand, dander, grass, and cat litter.
However, I am more on the Dyson V12 Slim for the cleaning efficiency, especially on bare floors. I can say that the fluffy cleaner head of the Dyson V12 outperforms the Turbo Action Brush cleaner head of the Samsung Jet 70 when picking different sizes of debris. The Jet 70 can not pick up all dog kibbles and large fruit loops. Meanwhile, the Dyson V12 Slim collects all without difficulty.
Besides, for me, the Dyson V12 is ideal for picking up pet hair. This can be attributed to the De-tangling Digital Motorbar cleaner head, which is designed for self-cleaning, meaning that it can prevent a large amount of hair from getting tangled on the brush rollers, reducing the clogging problem and enhancing the pick-up efficiency.
For picking small-size debris like cat litter and sand, they all perform well, and no significant debris scattering is noticed. So, I can conclude that on bare floors, Dyson V12 and Samsung Jet 70 are all compatible and work well with small debris. Nevertheless, the Samsung Jet 70 is inferior to the Dyson V12 in picking up bigger things.
On carpets, I notice that the performance is not significantly different. I mean that they work well on carpeted floors, especially on low-pile carpets and rugs. Thus, I think if your house is filled with most carpets, you should look for stronger stick vacuums or consider getting an upright vacuum for higher deep-cleaning efficiency.
Design & Convenience

Maneuverability & controls
Based on the given specifications, the Dyson V12 is lighter than the Samsung Jet 70. After using these two vacuums, I can say that maneuvering the Dyson V12 is relatively more comfortable than the Jet 70.
In my experience, the Jet 70 is front-heavy. This means the weight is allocated most in the front of its top, which I can feel more apparently when using the vacuum in the handheld form. So, it may put more stress on the wrists.
On the other hand, such a problem is not the case for the Dyson V12 because I feel that the weight is distributed in the center of the motor head, making it more balance when maneuvering.
Moreover, there is a noticeable change in the way of controlling the Dyson V12. It is possible to turn on with just a touch of a button thanks to the single-button power control. Therefore, I can easily alternate hands while cleaning and don’t have to hold the trigger all the time, reducing much stress on my wrist and fingers!
So, with the change in the power controlling button and being lighter and more balance when used as a handheld vacuum, I prefer the Dyson V12 Slim to the Jet 70, in terms of ease of maneuvering.
Battery
In terms of battery life, it is better to have long runtime with a relatively quick charging time. For this round, the Dyson V12 is my pick. Its maximum runtime can reach 1 hour 13 minutes, depending on selected modes and cleaning surfaces. Moreover, it takes about 4 hours to be fully charged.
Meanwhile, the Samsung Jet 70 has a shorter runtime, about 20 mins shorter, than the Dyson. The longest time I could work with my Jet 70 was about 40 minutes in the Min mode and a half of it in the Medium mode. For me, this is sufficient for non-heavy-duty cleaning on a daily basis. I often use it to clean my stairs, and this task often takes short-time intervals; thus, I have no problem with the shorter runtime.
Besides, the charging time of Jet 70 is shorter, about 3.5 hours for fully charged. Often, 3-4 hours can be considered an average changing time for most cordless sticks in the market, so I think this difference between the Jet 70 and V12 Slim is not that significant.
Additionally, the batteries of Samsung Jet 70 and Dyson V12 Slim are detachable, meaning that you can get the additional battery and replace the runout one to extend the vacuuming time. In this way, you can tackle more corners in your home without waiting 3-4 hours to resume your cleaning process.
I gave the estimated runtime and charging time of each vacuum in the table below. You can take a look at it for reference.
Samsung Jet 70 | Dyson V12 Slim | |
---|---|---|
Runtime | Min: 40 mins Mid: 20 mins Max: 5 mins | Eco: 51 – 73 mins Auto & Med: 30 – 45 mins Boost: 5 – 8 mins |
Charging time | 3.5 hours | 4 hours |
Dust bin & Filtration
Tie!
The Samsung Jet 70 has a bigger dust cup capacity than the Dyson V12 Slim. The larger dust cup means more room to spare and less emptying. Yet, as the Dyson V12 is designed for compactness, the reduction in its dust cup size is understandable.
Another difference between Samsung Jet 70 vs Dyson V12 Slim is the clean station. The Jet 70 is compatible with a clean station, while the V12 Slim is not. The benefit of using a clean station is that I can avoid the hassle of dust clouds and empty the dust cup with just one touch. The downside is that it will take more space in the room to be placed, and you have to spend extra money periodically on replacement dust bags.
If you want to get a clean station together with the Jet 70 vacuum, you can purchase the SAMSUNG Jet 70 + CS Bundle. The compatible dust bags for that clean station can be found on Amazon.
Meanwhile, the point-and-shoot mechanism featured in the dust cup of the Dyson V12 Slim is really helpful, though this vacuum does not come with a clean station. Though I still see dust clouds when emptying its dirt bin, it is reduced significantly as all the dust is released easily in one action. Therefore, I don’t need to touch the dirt to get it out of the bin.
In terms of filtration, though the Samsung Jet 70 and Dyson V12 have different designs of filtration systems, all systems are completely sealed and able to filter large-to-micro particles up to 99.9%, meeting the HEPA standard. Thus, both Jet 70 and V12 Slim can limit the dirt allergens and odors emitted into the air, giving your house fresh and clean.
Utility
Winner: Dyson V12 Slim
Laser light
The laser light that can be turned off on the fluffy cleaner head of the Dyson V12 is very useful. It is also one of the factors making the Dyson V12 a better choice for cleaning convenience and performance over the Samsung Jet 70.
This laser light reveals tiny dust particles on the floors impressively, allowing me to know where I’ve just cleaned or missed. When using the Dyson V12 in my kitchen, I can easily spot the powder and small seasoning particles scattering on the floor and clean them up. This gives me a more satisfying cleaning experience.
Intelligent dust sensor & display
One of the unique features that make the Dyson V12 better than the Samsung Jet 70 is the intelligent dust sensor. This sensor measures the dust particle sizes and densities to adjust the suction power for the optimal cleaning result.
Besides, the collected dust amount is categorized and shown on the LCD screen. This feature may not be critical to some users, but for me, it lets me know how clean my home environment is, which I find kind of useful when my pet is in the shedding season.
Attachments
The cleaning accessories of the Samsung Jet 70 come with 3 tools, including a crevice tool, a combination of upholstery tool and dusting brush, and a mini turbo tool for easy cleaning of pet hair. Meanwhile, the attachment set of the Dyson V12 will vary depending on the version you choose, but in general, it still consists of essential tools like the Jet 70.
I have listed specific accessories of Jet 70 and Dyson V12 versions in the table below for easy comparison. The Dyson V12 Slim Absolute contains 3 more tools, compared to the standard V12 Slim.
There is one attachment of the Dyson V12 that I believe is better than that of the Samsung Jet 70, the hair screw tool. The reason I highly appreciate this tool is its design to resolve the tangled hair problem. The conical shape makes it easy to detangle the long hair on the roller. Besides, it is sturdy and does not easy to fall off when I put much pressure.
The included accessories of these vacuums are listed in the table below.
