Samsung Bespoke Jet Vs Dyson V11: A Head-To-Head Comparison

Samsung Bespoke Jet vs Dyson V11: Which one is better? The short answer is the first one.

The Samsung Bespoke Jet comes out as the overall winner thanks to its self-emptying design and various other extras, which I will cover in this post. To my mind, the only thing that can make many people hesitate about it is its exorbitant price.

Although the Dyson V11  has been out for quite a while, there are not many models that can push it off its throne. It seems to still stay on the list of the most valuable cord-free vacuums for many more years, thanks to some pros such as powerful suction, a rich and excellent set of attachments, a compact and lightweight design, and more.

Samsung Bespoke Jet Vs Dyson V11: Differences

Samsung Bespoke Jet wins 3-0 and ties once against the Dyson V11. They are neck and neck regarding cleaning performance, and the former wins thanks to its bells and whistles.

Cleaning Performance

Winner: Tie

Suction Power And Floorheads

At the highest setting, the Samsung Bespoke Jet produces 210 AW of suction, which is pipped by the Dyson V15‘s 240 AW maximum suction, but it is very close. Meanwhile, the Dyson V11’s suction maxes out at 185 AW. Note that I’m talking about the V11 Torque Drive version. The V11 Outsize model has a maximum suction power of up to 220 AW.

Regarding the included floorhead, the Samsung Bespoke Jet includes a dual brush head, which combines a regular roller brush and a soft roller. Meanwhile, the Dyson V11 only comes with a torque drive floorhead (or multi-surface cleaning head). The Dyson V11 Absolute does come with a soft roller, which is ideal for vacuuming hard floors, but it’s not available in the US. The good news is that you can purchase this soft roller separately if cleaning hard floors is your priority.

Hard Floor

The V11, with the torque drive cleaning head, could easily pick up nearly all of the fine dust and small-to-medium debris in one pass. I say “nearly all” because the roller scattered a minor amount of debris around. For larger debris, I had to raise two gates on the floorhead and wiggle the machine so debris could pass through either of those gates. A small amount of extra large debris was pushed in front of the floorhead instead of being captured, and I had to make multiple passes to remove everything.

As mentioned above, to make the Dyson V11 work better on hard floors, I purchased a dedicated soft roller, and it easily picked up everything as I expected. Newer models, including the Dyson V15 and Dyson V12, come out of the box with the Laser Slim Fluffy floorhead, which is also a soft roller but more advanced with green laser light.

On the other hand, the Samsung Bespoke Jet could pick up 100% of fine dust and small debris with a single swipe, but it pushed a large amount of medium debris and large debris in front of the cleaning head. The reason is that the soft roller doesn’t actively spin at the same time as the regular roller, setting Bespoke Jet’s floorhead apart from Shark Vertex Pro’s DuoClean head. Fortunately, I once again found the specialized soft roller designed specifically for this model, which makes cleaning hard floors a piece of cake.

Carpet

On both low- and high-pile carpets, the Samsung Bespoke Jet left behind a tiny amount of small debris (about 1%-2%), but in return, it could pick up all the large debris. These are also the cases for the Dyson V11 – This is a super good result for a cord-free vacuum.

Hair

Both the Samsung Bespoke Jet vs Dyson V11 picked up hair and fur like champs on all terrains, but there was a small amount of long hair that ended up on their rollers. This is a widespread issue for floorheads that don’t have anti-tangle technology, so I wasn’t too surprised or disappointed. Removing these rollers to clean and untangle them is very easy.

For pet hair removal, I found it to be more effective to use the pet tool (Samsung Bespoke Jet) or the mini motorized tool (Dyson V11).

The Dyson V11, like its siblings, includes a wall-mounted charger that is used to store/charge the vacuum and hold two attachments. And thanks to the wand storage clip, I could store two attachments on the machine’s body. As you can see, there are more than four attachments, so I had to find another area to store the rest. If you don’t like this wall-hanging storage solution, you might consider buying a floor stand separately, which is an additional $100.

It is true to say that the coordinating dock, a slim tower with many features, is the main selling point of the Bespoke Jet. It’s more compact than Samsung’s All-in-One station and can be used to empty, store, and charge the vacuum. However, it can’t store attachments like AIO towers do – they need to be placed in the charging accessory cradle, a tree-like rack, instead. This unit also has an elegant look so that you can coordinate it with your home.

In addition, the Bespoke Jet, like the Samsung Jet 90, features a telescopic wand, which allows for easy increasing or decreasing the length of the vacuum for a higher reach or more compact storage.

Weight And Maneuverability

The Dyson V11 lighter weighs about 6.7 lbs, slightly more than the Bespoke Jet (5.7 lbs). These vacuum cleaners are technically light, but I have to say that they don’t feel that way. They feel heavier than they seem, perhaps because they are top-heavy. But anyway, I could pick them up and carry them around without hassle. In the handheld configuration, they are like toys in my hand – I mean, they are very light.

The swivel setting allowed me to change direction easily: sharp turns were no problem for these machines. They could be completely flat on the floor, allowing them to go further under furniture. They could be completely flat on the floor, allowing them to go further under furniture.

Battery Life

The Samsung Bespoke Jet includes four cleaning modes: low, medium, high, and jet, whereas the Dyson V11 has three: eco auto (or med) and boost. Note that the following results were measured when these vacuums were running with the main cleaning head attached.

Samsung Bespoke JetDyson V11 Torque Drive
Battery LifeLow: ≈ 45 minsEco: ≈ 76 mins
Med: ≈ 26 minsAuto or Med: ≈ 36 mins
High: ≈ 15 mins
Jet: ≈ 8 minsBoost: ≈ 9 mins
Charging Time≈ 3 hours≈ 3 hours

In Eco mode, the Dyson V11’s battery life is very long, but I think few people use this lowest suction setting all the time. I usually use the auto mode, which automatically adjusts the suction using the advanced floor sensor technology, and half an hour isn’t enough for me to get the job done. This machine uses a click-in battery, so I bought an extra battery to prolong the running time as needed. The V11’s charging station can’t charge two batteries at once, so I typically alternately charge them from the day before so that the next day I have two fully-charged batteries.

The Samsung Bespoke Jet comes with two interchangeable batteries. Whenever I park the vacuum in the station, the installed battery will automatically get charged.  And better yet, the accessory cradle has a slot to charge the spare battery, so two batteries could essentially be charged simultaneously. I didn’t need to wait for one battery to recharge while using the other.

Dust Cup Capacity and Filtration System

Winner: Samsung Bespoke Jet

The Bespoke Jet’s dust cup has a capacity of 0.5 liters, which is a bit small, but its smart charging station is the most attractive part. All you need to do to empty the dustbin is put it on top of the clean station and press a button on the dock – You don’t even have to detach the cup from the vacuum. That way, it can handle an unsolved problem of many vacuum cleaners – A dust cloud that is produced when emptying the dust cup.

There is a disposable bag hidden inside the station that collects all the dust and dirt dropped from the dust cup. It will need to be replaced after a few vacuuming cycles, which raises a small recurring fee. The purchase includes three bags, including an installed bag, and you can easily buy them on Amazon. The station also has a filter that needs to be cleaned periodically.

On the flip side, the Dyson V11 features a 0.75-liter dust cup, which can easily be emptied thanks to the same “point and shoot” mechanism as with other Dyson cordless vacuums.

Regarding the filter, the Dyson V11 has a HEPA filter, while the Bespoke Jet features a multi-layer filter system that is advertised as trapping up to 99.99% of the micro-sized dust. They share a sealed system, which anyone with severe allergies looks for when buying a vacuum cleaner.

Utilities

Winner: Samsung Bespoke Jet

On/Off Control

The Bespoke Jet’s control panel is very simple and handy, with an on/off button and + and – touch buttons. Just turn the vacuum on by pressing the physical button, and use two touch buttons to toggle between four vacuuming modes: low, medium, high, and jet.

As for the Dyson V11, there is a trigger that must be continuously held down to activate the vacuum. On the plus side, it saves battery life, resulting in a longer running time. But it could be a big problem for those with hand or wrist issues. That is why more and more machines are designed with physical buttons, such as the Dyson V12, or equipped with a trigger lock feature, such as the Tineco A11.

Display Screen

The Bespoke Jet’s display simply shows information about the estimated remaining battery life, the mode used, and maintenance tasks. Those are all the things that I need to grasp while vacuuming – nothing more, nothing less.

The Dyson V11 comes with an LCD screen that shows the current cleaning mode and a run-time countdown. It can also show some videos on how to maintain the vacuum. The Dyson V11 Animal has a more basic LED screen.

Noise

Like the battery life, how noisy a vacuum is depends mainly on the cleaning mode used. I measured the level of noise produced by the Samsung Bespoke Jet vs Dyson V11 with a noise meter, and here are the results:

Samsung Bespoke JetDyson V11 Torque Drive
Low: ≈ 53.7 dBEco: ≈ 70.7 dB
Med: ≈ 56.9 dBAuto or Med: ≈ 75-76.1 dB
High: ≈ 60.5 dB
Jet: ≈ 62.9 dBBoost: ≈ 78.7 dB

As you can see, the Dyson V11 is quite noisy, especially with the last two settings enabled. This noise level is equivalent to that of an alarm clock or traffic.
