Roborock H7 vs Samsung Jet 90: Honest Review and Detailed Comparison

Roborock is known for making high-quality robotic vacuums, so I was a little skeptical when I first heard about its cordless vacuums. And although the Roborock H7 is the runner-up in the battle between the Roborock H7 vs Samsung Jet 90, my tests showed that Roborock could create top-notch cordless vacuums.

The Samsung Jet 90 is, no doubt, Samsung’s pride. Whether you need to clean a small space or a luxurious house, this machine will blow your mind with its insanely powerful suction and various helpful attachments. But there’s still room for improvement, including the average battery life, a somewhat awkward emptying process, an unwieldy handle position, and a lack of estimated battery life on the screen.

The Roborock H7 is a potent cordless vacuum that easily cleans up thicker carpets with lots of dust. It also comes with various accessories, charges quickly, and has a relatively long battery life that can adapt to a full clean for larger homes. So this model has enough reasons to keep pace with its rivals and justify its high price.

Roborock H7 vs Samsung Jet 90: Differences

The Samsung Jet 90 proves itself to be a real flagship by beating the Roborock H7 with a score of 3-1. It really shines on hard floors thanks to its soft action brush and great suction power while excelling at deep cleaning carpets. It comes with a great set of attachments and a clean station for hygienically emptying the dust cup.

Cleaning Performance

Winner: Samsung Jet 90

Suction Power And Floorheads

The Samsung Jet 90 has a peak suction power of 200 AW (air flows) with a nine-cyclone system, making it one of the strongest cordless vacuums. It is slightly weaker than the Dyson V15 (230 AW) but more potent than other Dyson cordless sticks.  The Roborock H7 has a 160 AW rated maximum power, which is stronger than the Dyson V12’s (115 AW).

Of course, suction power is not the only factor affecting a vacuum cleaner’s cleaning performance – the appropriate floorhead also needs to be considered.

Samsung Jet 90 has two cleaning heads: a soft action brush with a fluffy roller (ideal for hard floors) and a turbo action brush (suitable for all surfaces but best for carpeted floors).

The Roborock H7 only comes with a multi-surface roller brush. It has no soft roller cleaning head, which I expect to get from a cordless vacuum at this kind of price.

Hard Floor

On max mode, the Roborock H7 easily captured the majority of the debris (98%), and the only exception was larger things, like cereal. There was also a slight clog due to larger debris, and when we switched off the vacuum, it spewed out a few clogged things.

The Samsung Jet 90 performed well on my hard floor, even on the lowest suction settings, and worked best on the highest settings, where it sucked up everything in a single swipe.

Carpet

With the maximum suction setting turned on, the Samsung Jet 90’s head sucked down the carpet, causing its roller to stop spinning after a few seconds. It sounds odd, but I was glad since this error is a testament to how powerful the Jet 90 is. Then I switched to medium mode, and this vacuum knocked my test out of the park, whether on the high or low carpet.

As for the Roborock H, its performance on low pile carpet was similar to what happened on hardwood floors. It also struggled with large debris, resulting in a debris removal rate of 96%. It isn’t a bad result, but I expected it to have a better performance. But on the high carpet, the Roborock H worked better, with a 98% debris removal rate. I was pretty shocked by this result, considering that the high carpet test is usually the most challenging.

Mop Ability

Both machines can be used as mops, which is the icing on the cake. But the mop attachment isn’t included with the purchase, meaning it needs to be purchased separately.

The Roborock H7’s mop attachment is attached behind the roller brush floorhead. That way, the cleaning head will clear away all the dust and debris first, then the mop attachment (including a water tank and mopping pad) will wet the floor directly and mop it. This is a great idea since it saves you time by combining vacuuming and mopping at the same time. I found it worked better than a regular mop. But note that it is only compatible with straight water and doesn’t accept any cleaning solution.

The Samsung Jet 90 can also be used with a wet mopping attachment, which is sold separately. I also found that this mop attachment really worked better than regular mopping. It was fast and effective, helping me get an extremely clean floor.

The Samsung Jet 90 comes with a handy charging stand named Z Station that can be used to store and recharge the vacuum when not in use. It can charge two batteries at the same time and hold two tools, so it is essential to find another place to put the rest of them.

Z Station provides a convenient spot to park the Samsung Jet 90 without drilling into your wall, but the whole unit takes up quite a bit of space. It’s quite bulky, so you can easily hide it in a cupboard or somewhere similar. The vacuum features a telescopic wand, which reduces its vertical footprint when storing/charging.

One of the Roborock H7’s nice features is that its attachments are magnetic, which is similar to the MagSafe feature of the iPhone 12. So apart from attaching accessories to the included wall-mounted storage, I could attach them to the sides of some household appliances, such as my refrigerator.

Weight And Maneuverability

Weighing around 6.87 pounds, the Samsung Jet 90 is on par with the weight of the Tineco Pure One S12, Dyson V15, and many other cordless sticks. I’d not say it’s extremely lightweight, but maneuvering it on all the floors and around tight furniture is a breeze. It also features a low-profile head and can lay completely flat on the ground to go further under the stuff.

The Roborock H7 weighs just about 3.1 pounds and has an easy-to-use design. I also had no trouble maneuvering the vacuum in tight spaces or around corners. The floorhead is low profile, and it was easy to squeeze under low furniture or make tight turns. When in its typical upright position, the machine has a 90-degree turning radius. The closer the vacuum gets to the ground, the lower the turning radius becomes until it can only perform forward-and-backward movements.

Battery Life

Roborock H7Samsung Jet 90
Maximum battery life≈ 87 mins≈ 42 mins
Minimum battery life≈ 14 minutes≈ 10 mins
Charging time≈ 2.5 hours≈ 3.5 hours

The Roborock H7 uses a LiPo (lithium polymer) battery, which is long-lasting and results in a spick-and-span recharge time. But its Achilles’ heel is that it’s non-removable, meaning there’s no way to expend the runtime.

For the Samsung Jet 90, I strongly suggest getting an extra battery to make the vacuum run longer. If it runs out of battery during a busy vacuuming schedule, you will have to wait about 3 and a half hours to pick up where you left off. The Z station also has a separate slot to charge the spare battery, meaning it can charge two batteries simultaneously.

Dust Cup

Winner: Samsung Jet 90

The Samsung Jet 90 features a large 0.8-liter dust bin. I think that it is a little harder to empty than a Dyson cordless vacuum or many others. I had to detach the cup completely from the machine and twist the top filter off to empty all the dust and dirt, which led to the risk of getting dust on my hands or dust and dirt flying around. Fortunately, Samsung makes up for this by offering a Clean Station.

Operating Clean Station is extremely simple: lift up its top lid, place the 90’s dust tank on top, and all the dirt and dust will be sent to a disposable bag hidden inside the unit without anything escaping. The disposable bag‘s capacity is enough for several emptying cycles and will need replacing when it gets full.

Regarding dust storage, the Roborock H7 offers two options: a dust cup or a dirt bag. The dust cup has a decent capacity of 0.5 liters. Unfortunately, it has no mechanism to propel the dust forward like many competitors, so I had to stick my hand inside the bin a few times to pull the leftovers. So if you have allergies, using the included dirtbag is wise. The dust bag can increase the capacity for vacuumed dust but also incur recurring costs. So is this trade-off worth it? It is up to you.

Utilities

Display Screen

The Jet 75’s digital display shows some notifications, including your chosen vacuuming mode and some alerts about airflow issues, clogs, a lack of filters, and more. However, it doesn’t show the remaining estimated battery life/runtime, the most important thing for a cordless vacuum. Why did Samsung not integrate this thing into the screen? Only God knows!

Meanwhile, the Roborock H7 features a 1.3-inch OLED that tells you what vacuuming mode is used, and the remaining runtime is shown as a percentage.  But once you start cleaning in a particular cleaning setting, the screen will show the remaining clean time in minutes for this setting.

On/Off Control Type & Cleaning Mode

The Roborock H7 is activated by pressing a pistol-like trigger. Similar to the Tineco A11 Master, it has a lock control that can keep the vacuum running without holding the trigger down. A button – easily reachable with your thumb – enables you to switch between three modes: eco, standard, and max. Once a setting is selected, the display will show an estimated time remaining, as mentioned above.

Several buttons are on the top of the Samsung Jet 90’s handle, including an on/off button and two buttons to change the suction power. There are three vacuuming modes (low, med, and max) and a wet mode, which activates the machine’s mopping ability.
