The Miele HX2 Pro and Dyson V15 are high-end and expensive stick vacuum cleaners in the market. However, in the battle of Miele HX2 Pro Vs Dyson V15, which is the better pick? My selection is the Dyson V15.
I chose the Dyson V15 as the winner because I noticed it has a better large-debris pick-up efficiency and is best for collecting pet hair owing to the self-detangling mechanism. Additionally, it has a bigger dust cup and a greater variety of cleaning accessories than its rival. Thus, I believe it is a better option for pet hair owners.
On the other hand, the Miele Triflex HX2 Pro has a non-self-cleaning brush roll, making it prone to hair clogging. Besides, it has a smaller dust cup capacity, requiring constant emptying. However, it has a more ergonomic design and lower noise level than the Dyson V15. Therefore, if you are looking for a stick vacuum with strong suction, easy maneuvering experience, and quiet, the Miele HX2 Pro is a good option.

Miele HX2 Pro Vs Dyson V15: Differences
To be honest, I prefer the Dyson V15 to the Miele Trifilex HX2 Pro, as it gives relatively better cleaning convenience and performance than the other. In this comparison, the Dyson V15 wins 3-1 against the Miele Triflex HX2 Pro. Specifically, in assessments of cleaning performance, dust bin & filtration, design, and utility, the Dyson V15 amazingly takes the first place 3 out of 4.
Cleaning performance
Winner: Dyson V15
Suction
I have no complaints about the suction power of the Miele Triflex HX2 Pro and Dyson V15. Their suction is incredible, even in the lowest settings. When using them to vacuum embedded dust and small-size debris like rice and sugar on carpets and bare floors, I noticed no big difference as they handled all stuff very well.
So, if incredibly strong suction power is your topmost focus in buying a stick vac (other aspects do not really bother you), I believe that either Miele HX2 Pro or Dyson V15 is what you are looking for, depending on your budget.
Floor-type compatibility
In general, they are compatible with both carpets and bare floors. They transition between carpeted and hard floors with ease and without changing the cleaner heads. Besides, both the Electrobrush cleaner head of HX2 Pro and the Digital Motorbar cleaner head of the Dyson V15 (in the Auto mode) have the ability to detect the floor types and auto-adjust roller speed and suction, respectively. This can enhance the cleaning effectiveness and convenience significantly.
When conducting tests on picking up specific objects, the Dyson V15 shows better performance than the Triflex HX2 Pro. Particularly for dust and fine debris, these two vacuums perform incredible pick-up efficiency. However, in terms of collecting larger particles, the Dyson V15 gives greater results, which can be attributed to the cleaner heads.
The Electrobrush floorhead of the Triflex HX2 Pro is low-profile, which is good for cleaning under-bed areas but not for things larger than a coffee bean. When I used the Triflex HX2 Pro to collect cheerios on the floors, I noticed it pushed the cheerios ahead rather than sucking them in.
Meanwhile, when using the Dyson V15 with the Digital Motorbar cleaner head to collect the same cheerios, the pick-up performance is greatly enhanced. It is because this cleaner head of the Dyson V15 is designed with a switch to adjust the gates, making the bottom gate of the floorhead widen, allowing the larger things to be sucked in.
Besides, the Dyson V15 included a Fluffy cleaner head, which is also known as a soft brush floorhead. This type of cleaner head is claimed to be the most appropriate floor cleaning bare floors. The Triflex HX2 Pro also includes the soft roller (called Hardfloor Care Tool) to replace the standard bristle roller to optimize the hard-floor cleaning performance.
However, I’ve found that the Dyson V15’s rotating brush pushes a great amount of cat litter box pieces away. When using the Miele Triflex HX2 Pro, this problem is solved, which I believe to be attributed to the rubber strip underneath its brush. Moreover, the Miele HX2 Pro’s rotating brush will start to rotate faster when I do carpeting to provide more agitation to the carpet’s surface. For me, this is really impressive and good for deep cleaning carpets.
Pet hair
For dealing with pet hairs, I gave my vote to the Dyson V15 owing to its self-detangling brush design. The Digital Motorbar floorhead of the Dyson V15 is integrated with the hair removal vanes to remove the hair tangled on the brush rolls. As a result, it can address hair-clogged problems. Meanwhile, the brush bar of the Triflex HX2 Pro’s cleaner head is prone to hair wrap as it is a traditional brushroll type with no anti-hair wrap mechanism.
Dust bin & Filtration
Winner: Dyson V15
The Dyson V15 has a larger dust cup capacity than the Miele Triflex HX2 Pro. The dust cup of the Miele HX2 Pro is about 0.5 liters, 0.3 liters smaller than that of the Dyson V15. Thus, I need to empty the dust container of the HX2 Pro constantly when using it for cleaning large rooms, especially those that include both carpeted and bare floors.
In terms of filtration systems, I see that both of them are equipped with excellent sealed filtration systems. Though the Dyson V15 does not have a HEPA filter like the Triflex HX2 Pro, its whole-machine filtration can filter fine dust particles up to 0.3 microns to 99.99%, making it as effective as its competitor. While cleaning, I did not smell any dust odor in the released airflow, which is a sign indicating that Miele HX2 Pro and Dyson V15 have well-sealed filtration systems.
Design & Convenience
Winner: Miele Triflex HX2 Pro
Maneuverability
Based on specifications, the Miele Triflex HX2 Pro is heavier than the Dyson V15. However, it brings a better gripping experience than the Dyson V15. This can be attributed to the 3-in-1 design and the power control of the Triflex HX2 Pro. Specifically, I can use the HX2 Pro in three different forms, including the stick, upright, and handheld vacuum forms.
In the stick form, it is top heavy as the Dyson V15, but holding it for a long cleaning session is more comfortable than holding the Dyson V15. It is because it features a push button to control the power. This means that I just need to push and pull the button to turn on/off and change the suction levels when using the Triflex HX2 Pro; no trigger to hold for keeping the vacuum on like when using the Dyson V15.
In the upright form, the power unit is located close to the floor head, making maneuvering the Triflex HX2 Pro less tiring as most of the weight is in the lower part of the vacuum. Additionally, in this form, the Triflex HX2 Pro can stand on its own like the corded upright vacuum cleaners, making storage more convenient. Meanwhile, the Dyson V15 needs support from the wall or any vertical surfaces to stand and store.
In the handheld form, I find that both of them are heavy and make my arm tired quickly. However, as I mentioned above, holding the Dyson V15 gives tension to my hands significantly as I have to hold down the power trigger during the whole cleaning session.
Noise level
In this term, the Triflex HX2 Pro is the winner because its noise is much lower than the Dyson V15. Its noise range is between 63 dB – 70 dB, while that of Dyson V15 is between 73 dB – 80 dB. Moreover, its sound has a non-irritating pitch, so it is considered quiet while operating.
Battery
I showed the estimated runtime and charging time of each vacuum in the table below. Based on what I recorded, the Dyson V15 gives better battery life than the Triflex HX2 Pro.
Both vacuums are claimed to have a max runtime of 60 minutes for a single battery. However, the Dyson V15’s actual estimated runtime is somehow longer (about 63 mins), while that of the Triflex HX2 Pro is significantly shorter (about 28 mins). Fortunately, the Miele HX2 Pro comes with 2 batteries in the package, so I can use them consecutively to get a longer runtime.
Miele Triflex HX2 Pro | Dyson V15 | |
---|---|---|
Pack of Batteries | 2 batteries | 1 battery |
Runtime (per battery) | Min: ~ 28 mins Eco: ~ 19 mins Max: ~ 11 mins | Eco: ~ 63 mins Auto & Med: ~ 45 mins Boost: ~ 10 mins |
Charging time | 4 hours | 4.5 hours. |
Utility
Winner: Dyson V15
In this category, though both the Triflex HX2 Pro and Dyson V15 feature headlights for effectively revealing finer dirt on hard floors, the Dyson V15 is the better because it has more accessories and an LCD screen.
The LCD screen of the Dyson V15 also displays the amount of collected dust, which is measured by the piezo sensor. In this way, I can realize the freshness level of my living environment. In addition, the LCD screen also shows the run-time countdown and maintenance alerts, so I can instantly know when its battery needs to be recharged, and maintenance needs to be performed.
For the attachments, the Miele Triflex HX2 Pro has a standard set of a crevice tool, a dusting brush, and an upholstery tool. On the other hand, the Dyson V15 provides a wider variety of cleaning accessories, including an anti-tangle hair screw tool, a combination tool (wide nozzle and brush), a crevice tool, a stubborn dirt brush, and a mini soft dusting brush.
