Samsung Jet 90 vs LG Cordzero Kompressor: A Battle Between Two Tech-Rich Vacuums

When it comes to LG and Samsung, what comes to mind first? Ultra-thin TVs with cutting-edge technologies? Or home appliances with handy features? Whatever it is, I bet not many people think of a cordless vacuum cleaner. But I would say that even if they don’t focus on this niche, their products can rival those of many well-known brands in the vacuuming industry. Don’t you believe it? Let’s take a look at my comparison of the Samsung Jet 90 vs LG Cordzero Kompressor.

The CordZero A9 Kompressor already offers a lot of versatility in a single package, and adding the AIO (all-in-one) tower has taken it from great to perfect. There’s a lot to like about this model: It cleans very well and has a lightweight, elegant design, comes with two batteries, and the  AIO  tower makes it easier and more convenient to store, charge, and empty the dust cup. So even if it has an exorbitant price, it is still among the excellent value-for-money models.

The Samsung Jet 90 is also a powerful vacuum with many bells and whistles. It is the more affordable choice, but to make it better for use, you will need to spend extra bucks to buy a Clean Station and an extra battery. So it’s basically not much cheaper than the Cordzero A9.

Samsung Jet 90 vs LG Cordzero Kompressor: Differences

The LG Cordzero A9 wins 2-1 and draws once against the Samsung Jet 90. The former comes with a smart charging station, which is a game changer regarding storing the vacuum/attachments, charging the vacuum, and emptying the dust cup. Its cleaning performance is impressive, but it could perform better on hard floors. It is also very expensive, which can make many people scared.

Cleaning Performance

Winner: Tie

Suction Power And Floorheads

The LG CordZero A9 produces 200 AW of suction in the Turbo setting, which is equal to the Samsung Jet 90’s suction power when the Max mode is turned on.

The Samsung Jet 90 comes with two cleaning heads out of the box: a soft brush and a turbo action brush that are specially designed for cleaning hard floors and carpets, respectively. Meanwhile, the LG Cordzero A9 only includes a power drive multi-surface nozzle (note that in some countries, such as the UK, the purchase includes a soft roller).

Hard Floor

Both the Samsung Jet 90 vs LG Cordzero Kompressor had good performance on hard floors.

The Samsung Jet 90 could pick up almost everything, thanks to its dedicated soft roller. The Cordzero A9, on the other hand, captured a good amount of debris (about 94%) and just left behind a small amount of larger debris – This result is good, but I expected a better result.

Both can be used as mops. But as for the Samsung Jet 90, you will have to buy the mopping attachment separately.

I found the Cordzero A9 worked well in my bedroom and living room, where there weren’t heavy stains. But in my kitchen and bathroom, it struggled to remove stains, especially more glutinous ones. The pressure of the mop pads wasn’t enough to cut through certain stains, even if I went over them many times.

I also wasn’t impressed with the Samsung Jet 90’s mopping ability. I felt like it was just pushing dirt around the floors instead of picking it up. So I just consider it a good-to-have feature, and it’s far from replacing a specialized mop.

Carpet

On my carpets, both vacuums had quite good results, which were equivalent. The debris removed percentages on this surface were higher than on my hard floor (over 99% for both).

They also picked up the hair very well, and only a small amount of long hair ended up on the roller. For models without any anti-hair-wrap technology, this is impressive.

Attachments And Storage

There are two A9 versions: Ultimate and Kompressor, and the set of attachments vary depending on the version. Mine is the A9 Kompressor with an all-in-one base, which is considered a complete version of the A9 line. Likewise, the Samsung Jet 90 also has several variants, and the one I have is the Jet 90 Complete.

Self-standing charging station (Z station).
Battery (x1).

For folks who want to avoid drilling holes like me, a free-standing station is always the best bet. Thankfully, both the LG Cordzero A9 and Samsung Jet 90 are equipped with this.

The LG Cordzero A9 also comes with an auto-empty charging station. It’s called “All-in-One” because it can solve the three possible unsolvable problems for a cordless vacuum: empty the dust cup, charge the battery, and store the vacuum/attachments. The station can store the vacuum and all the attachments and has a separate slot for the spare battery.

The good news is that this AIO tower is factory assembled, so it doesn’t require any setup, and all you need to do is put it in ample space since it’s quite cumbersome. It took me a few minutes at first to figure out how to properly place the vacuum in the station. It also features an elegant design, making it a great addition to any smart home. Moreover, the vacuum’s length can be adjusted thanks to the telescopic design.

On the other hand, the Samsung Jet 90 includes a free-standing charging station, called the Z station, instead of a wall-mounted charger like the Samsung Jet 75. So you can continuously alter where you put it. The charging stand has two slots for attachments, and better yet, it can charge two batteries at the same time. The vacuum features a telescopic wand, which allows adjustment of its length in four levels for more compact storage or to reach some higher areas, which is an upgrade over previous versions.

Weight And Maneuverability

At around 5.63 pounds without accessories, the Cordzero A9 is relatively lighter than the Dyson V15 Detect, making it easier to push across thick carpets and keep higher for handheld vacuuming. I felt it was a little off-balance since it is top-heavy. But anyway, it was still comfortable to handle and easy to lug around. The Samsung Jet 90 is significantly heavier, at 6.2 pounds, but it seems well-balanced, so it still feels very light in my hand. Both have rotating heads and can be reconfigured into handheld vacuums, which weigh less than 4 pounds.

Battery Life

Each model has three vacuuming modes, and their battery life depends significantly on the mode used.

Battery LifeNormal: ≈ 49 minsMin: ≈ 45 mins
Power: ≈ 21 minsMid: ≈20 mins
Turbo: ≈ 12 mins Max: ≈10 mins
Charging Time≈ 210 minutes≈ 215 minutes

So if you can’t tackle your entire house in about 15 to 30 minutes, it makes sense to have an extra battery or more. Both have removable and replaceable batteries. And as mentioned above, their charging station can charge two batteries simultaneously, so it is easy to swap the battery to extend cleaning time.

The Cordzero A9 comes out of the box with two batteries, while the Jet 90 only comes with one battery. You can buy the additional battery at Amazon (highly recommended) or Samsung Web.

Dust Cups And Filters

Winner: LG Cordzero A9

The Samsung Jet 90 features a 0.8-liter dust canister, which is larger than that of the Jet 75 (0.5 liters) and Dyson V15 (0.75 liters). I found myself emptying it twice during the entire cleaning process – My house is quite large, so this is a relatively low frequency.

Emptying it isn’t easy: I had to remove the dust cup from the handheld unit, remove the microfilter, detach the cyclonic system, and turn the cup upside down to empty it. In addition, I also had to stick my hand inside the cup several times to pull out clogged hair and debris.

Fortunately, Samsung engineers went the extra mile to make the emptying process easier – and all you need to do is spend a few extra bucks to buy the Clean Station. Using it is very easy: just put the dust cup on the top of this tower, and all the dust and dirt will be sent to the disposable bag inside.

The Samsung Jet 90’s Clean Station

The A9 dirt container has a capacity of 0.399 liters, which is on par with the Dyson V12‘s 0.38-liter cup. The Kompressor feature can compress collected dust and hair, resulting in cleaning out the dust cup less frequently and saving me time. You will fall in love with this feature if you have a larger area to vacuum.

Emptying it is very easier – Just let the AIO station take care of this dirty work. Once I got the cleaning job done, I just parked the vacuum at the AIO stand, which automatically sucked the dust and dirt from the dust bin into the tower’s dust bag.

Disposable Bag Inside the Clean Station

The self-emptying process is quite loud, but it is fun to witness all the dust automatically disappearing. Once the disposable dust bag inside the tower is full, the app will send you an alert, and you need to replace it with a new one (two replacement dust bags are included in the purchase). The AIO stand has a filter that should be washed under running water (and/or with a brush) at least once a month.

The LG Cordzero A9 features a 5-Step Filtration System, while the Samsung Jet 90 also sports a 5-Layer Filtration System. Both can trap up to 99.99% of dust particles, giving you cleaner air. I have no way of verifying this, so keep my fingers crossed that this isn’t an exaggeration.

Utilities

Winner: Samsung Jet 90

App

The Samsung Jet 90 can be connected to the LG ThinQ app. Once the set-up process is done, the vacuum will be showed up on its home page. There is some interesting information that can be found here, including your vacuuming history (how many times you have used it).

Honestly, I don’t know how useful this information is. I mean, who needs to know how often their vacuum cleaner is used? It doesn’t seem to make sense to someone like me, who considers vacuuming a daily chore. And when the vacuum is parked on the charging tower, this app will notify you that it is charging and alert you again when it is fully charged.

Display Screen And On/Off Control

Unlike most of the Dyson cordless vacuums with a pistol-like trigger, the Samsung Jet 90 vs LG Cordzero Kompressor has some physical buttons that are easily accessible with your thumb. Without a trigger, you can relax your wrist and hand while using the vacuum, which makes your arm less tired.

The Cordzero A9 has no display screen to show which cleaning mode is being used. So you must remember which setting you’re in – this is somewhat awkward.

On the other hand, the Samsung Jet 90 has a screen that shows the current cleaning mode and a few alerts. But it doesn’t have any type of estimated remaining battery life.

App connectivity and display screen: If I have to choose between the two, I will lean towards the first one. So I give the nod to the Samsung Jet 90 this round, but I wish it showed battery life as many other models do.
