Kenmore Intuition Vs Shark Vertex: Which is better? The short answer, in my opinion, is the second one.
The Shark Vertex Lightweight Cordless is a cordless vacuum that is highly maneuverable. Its bagless design and washable filters keep recurring costs to a minimum, and it doesn’t have too many components that require maintenance. It offers fantastic performance on bare floors but struggles a bit with fine and larger debris on higher-pile carpets.
The Kenmore Intuition is a relatively affordable yet versatile upright vacuum. It offers versatile overall cleaning performance on many surface types. It has a lightweight construction and an easy-to-maintain design. Still, its bulky body makes it a bit arduous to maneuver in tight spaces, and it can incur recurring costs over time.

Kenmore Intuition Vs Shark Vertex: Differences
The Shark Vertex Cordless wins the Kenmore Intuition with a score of 3-2. The first one is more maneuverable and performs better on all types of surfaces. Also, it is easy to use and doesn’t incur recurring costs.
Cleaning Performance
The Winner: The Shark Vertex
Vacuuming Test
- Bare Floors
The Shark Vertex Cordless has superb performance on bare floors. During my testing, it sucks up small and bulky debris, like rice and cereal, and pet hair, without an issue. Better yet, its performance still remains consistent as its dirt cup fills up.
The Kenmore Intuition offers impressive performance on bare floors. It easily removes debris like cereal and rice with negligible drop in performance as its dirtbag fills up. It may take another pass to fully suck up pet hair.
- Low-Pile Carpets
I think the Shark Vertex Cordless does a good job of sucking up pet hair and larger debris like sand on this surface but struggles a bit with finer debris, such as baking soda.
The Kenmore Intuition vacuum’s performance on low-pile carpets is impressive. I found that it is effective in sucking up pet hair and clearing larger debris like sand but seems to struggle a little bit with fine material like baking soda. Fortunately, I’m glad its performance remains consistent as its dirtbag fills up.
- High-Pile Carpets
The Shark Vertex Cordless has decent performance on high-pile carpets. It clears pet hair as easy as pie but takes extra passes to fully clear fine and larger debris, such as sand, in most cases. The largest minus is the rubber lip on the front of this machine can fling a few coarser debris upward while vacuuming.
As for the Kenmore Intuition Vacuum, I am completely satisfied with its performance on this surface. It removes pet hair without a problem and does an excellent job of sucking up both fine material and larger debris.
- Stairs
The Kenmore Intuition is just okay for vacuuming stairs. It can be used as a semi-handheld vacuum, but it is still somewhat heavy. What’s more, its vacuum hose is quite short, which makes vacuuming hard-to-reach areas a complicated affair.
The Shark Vertex, in my opinion, is an excellent option for cleaning stairs. Its cordless design gives it an unlimited range, which is great for vacuuming large areas. It is also lightweight and easy to carry and can be quickly transformed into a handheld vacuum.
Maneuverability
The Shark Vertex Cordless, no doubt, has better maneuverability as it is lighter and more compact. Its swiveling head also makes it easy to navigate around obstructions. The MultiFLEX wand is another hugely convenient feature, which allows you to bend the wand to vacuum under your furniture or fold it over for storage. For example, it can flex up to a 90-degree angle so you can access low areas without bending over.
The Kenmore Intuition rolls well on uneven surfaces, and its rotating head makes it a bit easier to maneuver in most tight spaces. Still, its bulky body makes it slightly difficult to vacuum under low-lying furniture, such as tables and couches. Moreover, it can occasionally have trouble climbing over rugs and electrical cords.
Bagged or Bagless?
The Winner: The Kenmore Intuition
The Shark Vertex features a clear dirt tank, whereas the Kenmore Intuition is a bagged vacuum. Each has its own pros and cons, so I don’t think bagless vacuums are better than bagless ones and vice versa.
But I give the nod to the Kenmore Intuition Vacuum as it has a larger dirt compartment. Specifically, its dirtbag (0.92 gallon) is quite spacious, so it shouldn’t need to be replaced too often. Meanwhile, the dirt cup of the Shark Vertex has a capacity of 0.18 gal, which is too small partly because of its compact size.
Plus, the Kenmore Intuition features four indicator lights, which gradually turn green as its dirtbag fills up, and all four turn red as it reaches maximum capacity. The Shark Vertex only has a fill line indicator, which lets you know when it has reached maximum capacity.
Cordless or Corded?
The Winner: The Shark Vertex
The Shark Vertex Cordless is a cordless vacuum cleaner, while the Kenmore Intuition is not. I think no one is better than the other, but I always favor the cordless model because it allows me to vacuum the whole house without worrying about where to plug it in.
As a cordless vacuum, the Shark Vertex is powered by a battery. It can operate from 20 minutes to 40 minutes, depending on the settings, before requiring recharging. For hard floor cleaning, the battery lasts about 34 minutes, and for carpets, it lasts more than 20 minutes. When you use Boost Mode, you get just 10 minutes.
I never had a problem running out of battery while vacuuming, and once I was finished, it was no issue to plug it in for a recharge. It also has battery indicator lights on the backside of the handheld, which allows you to check the remaining charge at a glance. It takes almost 190 min to fully charge, which is fairly long.
As for the Kenmore Intuition, it features a 30 ft power cord and a 2.79 ft hose, which is more than enough to clean large areas without switching outlets too often.

Dimensions and Storing
The dimensions of Kenmore Intuition vs Shark Vertex are 46.06 x 11.02 x 10.63 inches and 26.57 x 10.24 x 11.02 inches, respectively. So, the second one, undoubtedly, has better storage capabilities as it’s more compact. Its wand can be folded in half to reduce the vertical footprint, but it has no rack station or onboard storage for the tools and accessories.
The Kenmore Intuition has decent storage capabilities, although it’s bulkier. You can wrap its power cord around the right side of its body, and it has onboard storage for included accessories.
Weight and Portability
The weight of the Kenmore Intuition vs Shark Vertex is 14.95 lbs and 9.15 lbs, respectively. As we can see, the former is noticeably lighter than the other. Moreover, it features an integrated carrying handle that makes it a little easier to move around.
The Kenmore Intuition is heavier, but it feels somewhat lightweight in hand. Also, its built-in carrying handle also makes it easier to carry up and down stairs or from room to room.
