Kenmore Intuition vs Hoover Windtunnel 2: The first one completely outshines its competitor.

The Kenmore Intuition creates impressive suction power that is adjustable. The machine has impressive and stable performance on all types of surfaces and is quieter in operation. It has better maneuverability thanks to its rotating head and can be used as a semi-handheld vacuum.

The runner-up, Hoover Windtunnel 2, is not bad. It is a satisfactory overall upright vacuum with few features and limited maneuverability.

Kenmore Intuition vs Hoover Windtunnel: Differences

Kenmore Intuition wins Hoover Windtunnel 2 (4-1). It offers versatile overall vacuuming performance on various surface types, has a reasonably lightweight construction, and comes with many nice-to-have features.

Cleaning Performance

The Winner: The Kenmore Intuition

Suction strength

Both Kenmore Intuition vs Hoover Windtunnel are equipped with 1200-Watt motors, allowing them to generate impressive suction. But one thing that Kenmore Intuition has over its opponent is its power adjustment.

Compatible Floor Type

  • Bare Floor

The Kenmore Intuition has excellent performance on bare floors. It can vacuum small and large debris, such as cereal or rice, without an issue on this type of surface. Its suction performance seems not to drop significantly as its dirt tank fills up.

The Hoover WindTunnel 2 is decent to use on bare floors. It can pick up hair quite easily and remove most small debris. Sadly, it doesn’t work well with large debris and will quickly lose performance as its dirt compartment fills.

  • Low-Pile Carpet
the windtunnel 2 is decent for vacuuming low-pile carpets
The Windtunnel 2 is decent for vacuuming low-pile carpets

The Kenmore Intuition is just okay for low-pile carpets. It sucks up pet hair and larger materials like sand quite easily but struggles a bit when it comes to fine materials like baking soda.

The WindTunnel 2 is also decent for vacuuming low-pile carpets. It can remove a good amount of both large and small debris but slightly struggles with hair.

  • High-Pile Carpet

The Kenmore Intuition is a good option for high-pile carpets. It does a good job of removing pet hair and fine/larger debris like baking soda or sand.

On the flip side, the Hoover WindTunnel 2 can pick up pet hair effectively, but it struggles more with large and small debris. That said, it can take a few passes to clean a mess completely.

  • Stairs

The Kenmore Intuition has an amazing performance in cleaning stairs. Although this machine is still quite heavy, you can configure it into a semi-handheld vacuum, making things easier.

The WindTunnel 2 is not ideal for vacuuming stairs. This bulky upright vacuum has no rotating head and cannot be transferred to a semi-portable configuration. Hence, it isn’t ideal for cleaning small, tight stairs.

Dirt Compartment

The Winner: Tie

The Kenmore Intuition is bagged. The machine has a great dirt compartment (0.92 gal). It’s spacious, so it shouldn’t need to be replaced often. It has four indicator lights that turn green as the dirtbag fills up, and they will turn red once it has reached its maximum capacity.

The WindTunnel 2 features a good dirt compartment. It is somewhat large (0.34 gal) and has a transparent indicator line that lets you know when the bin is full, but it can be hard to see.

If you like convenience, are prone to allergies, or like minimal maintenance, the bagged vacuum cleaner is your best bet. But remembering to buy bags for your vacuum regularly can become a hassle and make you feel like you are throwing your money away.

While the debate about the bagged vs bagless vacuum may never come to an end, it is important to recognize that both models do a spectacular job of collecting dirt and keeping your home clean. So, there is no winner here.

Design and Convenience

The Winner: The Kenmore Intuition

Weight And Portability

Kenmore Intuition vs Hoover Windtunnel 2 weigh 14 and 16.1 pounds, respectively.

The Hoover Windtunnel 2 is not very portable. It’s heavy and bulky, making it a bit more difficult to carry around. Meanwhile, the Kenmore Intuition is adequately portable and feels somewhat lightweight in hand.

Both of these machines have a carrying handle, making it easier to carry up and down stairs or from room to room.

Range

This Kenmore Intuition has a decent range. Its power cord is quite long (30.02 ft), letting you vacuum large spaces without swapping outlets too often. Yet, its somewhat short vacuum hose (2.79 ft) may make vacuuming hard-to-reach spots a bit difficult.

The WindTunnel 2 has a good range. Its power cord (24.74 ft) is long enough to keep vacuuming in the same room without swapping plugs, while its long hose (8.60 ft) helps extend its range.

Utilities

The Winner: The Kenmore Intuition

Noise

Kenmore IntuitionHoover Windtunnel 2
Low-Pile Carpet78.5 dBA85.8 dBA
Bare Floor78.4 dBA87.5 dBA

As we can see, the Kenmore Intuition is considerably quieter than its counterpart. But anything more than 70 dB can disturb anyone around you, especially in the morning. So closing the door completely when vacuuming your room is essential.

Maneuverability

The Kenmore Intuition has better maneuverability. Its rubber wheels roll smoothly on uneven surfaces, and its rotating head makes it easier to maneuver in tight spaces.

The Kenmore Intuition has no surface height adjustment, so it sometimes has trouble climbing over rugs and electrical cords. Plus,  its bulky body makes it a bit difficult to clean under low-lying furniture, such as tables and couches. Fortunately, its ‘Lift-Up’ configuration enables you to clean on top of furniture effectively.

The Hoover WindTunnel 2 has disappointing maneuverability. It Is heavy, and its head isn’t able to rotate from side to side. It can go under tables and couches but has trouble reaching far underneath them. I believe it is designed for big open spaces instead of a house with lots of furniture.

2-In-1 Vacuum Cleaner

The Kenmore Intuition can be used as a semi-handheld vacuum thanks to its ‘Lift-Up’ feature, allowing you to clean hard-to-reach areas as easy as a pie. Unfortunately, its opponent is not equipped with this nice-to-have feature.

Kenmore Intuition vs Hoover Windtunnel: Similarities

Build Quality

Both Kenmore Intuition vs Hoover Windtunnel has mediocre build quality. They are entirely made of plastic, except for their metal wands. The plastic is sturdy in general but could possibly break if dropped.

Anti-Allergy Filter (HEPA)

Bọth Kenmore Intuition vs Hoover Windtunnel come with HEPA filters, which can theoretically pick up at least 99.97% of pollen, mold, dust, bacteria, and all airborne particles with a size of 0.3 µm
