This article will help you choose which vacuum to purchase if you are undecided between the Kenmore Intuition vs Dyson. They are both capable of effectively cleaning different surfaces. But, the Kenmore intuitive performs marginally better, making it the best option overall.
The Kenmore Intuition is undoubtedly the model that stands head and shoulders above its competition regarding its overall cleaning performance. This machine is an apparent option to go with, given that the dustbin can hold more debris and that it is easier to move around thanks to its lower weight.
Dyson Animal 2, as a runner-up, is also worth buying. It has incredible suction power, which is higher than any other vacuum, making it an excellent vacuum for hard floors. Because it comes with a wider variety of accessories, it can be adapted to suit a wider variety of cleaning needs. This makes it a versatile vacuum.

Kenmore Intuition vs Dyson: Differences
Kenmore Intuition wins 3-1 against Dyson Ball Animal 2 convincingly thanks to its better cleaning performance, more lightweight design, larger dustbin, and handy LED headlight. Check out my full review to see the pros and cons of both vacuum cleaners.
Cleaning Performance
The Winner: Kenmore Intuition BU4022
Bare Floor Performance
The Kenmore Intuition BU4022 has great suction and is great for bare floors because the vent blows dirt, debris, hair, etc. stays in one spot instead of blowing them away or in front of the machine. This is the ideal vacuum for pets with long hair and bare floors in your home. The only thing that bothers me about it is that its suction strength doesn’t reach as high as advertised.
I have both hard floors and rugs in my home. I needed a vacuum that would easily clean both hardwood floors and area rugs, and this one did not let me down in that regard. This vacuum features a height adjustment that works perfectly on its own and can be adjusted to various heights. When I want to switch between different suction floors, I only need to turn the brush roll on/off.
I’ve read that the Dyson Ball Animal 2 does poorly on hardwood floors since some have complained that it just moves the dirt around. I have no idea what folks are attempting to pick up on, but I have not the slightest issue about the job that it did on my hardwood. It did, in fact, push around the top of the beer bottle, but I’m not sure what kind of vacuum would have picked that up. I can assure you that it is an excellent choice for hardwood floors. It also switches between hardwood and carpet very easily.
Carpets Performance
About the Dyson Ball Animal 2, this vacuum does not function smoothly on the carpet; rather, it pulls the carpet up. As a result of the vacuum cleaner’s powerful suction, it is significantly more challenging to move the machine around, even the most basic types of carpets. Truthfully, I have to use every ounce of strength I possess to move it. Despite the fact that I am not a weak person, this causes the task of vacuuming the carpet to take ten times as long as it should.
The Kenmore Intuition vacuum was noticeably simpler to maneuver on the carpet and gave the impression of doing the task more expediently and comprehensively than the Dyson. Even though the turbine brush appeared to be quite effective and powerful, it required several passes to remove all of the debris. The transition from floor to carpet mode on either vacuum was quite straightforward.
Stairs Performance
The Dyson appeared to be easy to use on carpeted stairs regarding weight and mobility; nevertheless, using it proved extremely awkward. You can choose to use the brush attachment, the crevice tool, or a shorter extension when you are vacuuming the stairs. But since I have a white cat and black carpet, I really required the strength of a rotating brush to beat out all of the cat hair.
This Dyson model can vacuum stairs; however, you must always carry the unit with you. However, the main unit is too heavy to carry up the stairs. After attempting to vacuum the stairs with the Dyson for approximately three steps, I gave up.
Nevertheless, the Kenmore was a different story. The Kenmore’s rotating hand tool is the most effective stair vacuuming solution I’ve yet discovered. I can sit down and vacuum just like I would with a hand vac, but with the strength of a high-quality canister, which makes it so much easier on my bad back. When seated, I can have a better view of the dirt. Despite the canister’s size, it was made to rest securely on steps and has a reasonably long hose, so I don’t have to move it around much. My kid is now willing to vacuum the stairs.
Power Adjustment
As I said, the Dyson Ball Animal is a vacuum cleaner with strong suction power. That’s great when I use it to vacuum hard floors or pet hairs. Yet, such a strong power isn’t always necessary. For instance, when I want to be able to reduce the suction for delicate jobs, like when I want to utilize a short boost for sustained debris areas or just get a better clean for carpets. We cannot adjust the suction that this Dyson model produces, which is a significant drawback.
In contrast, the Kenmore Intuition BU4022 allows us to adjust the suction strength it produces. Just below the handle is a tab that can be moved to either open or close to control the suction power.
Design & Convenience
The Winner: Kenmore Intuition BU4022
Noise Levels
By my measurements, I have determined that the Kenmore Intuition is significantly quieter than its counterpart, registering 75 decibels. Meanwhile, the Dyson produces a volume of about 81 decibels.
In any case, the decibel levels that are produced by either one of these machines are far higher than average. But I know that It is unreasonable to expect that powerful vacuums will operate silently. That was loud enough to absolutely drowned out my conversation that was taking place nearby.
Maneuverability
This Dyson Animal 2 is undoubtedly the most cumbersome vacuum cleaner I have ever used. When you first started using the “ball,” it was a little difficult to get used to, but as you got the hang of it, you’ll find that it really makes it easier to maneuver around.
However, this “ball” is both a boon and a bane. It makes it impossible to get beneath anything without first pausing the machine, turning it off, and removing the extending tube. It’s a hassle to do that just to get under a chair or sofa on the floor. It’s also inconvenient and may be unsafe to use the extension hose while vacuuming up high. As I try to stretch or lift the hose to vacuum near the ceiling, the suction pulls against my legs and the ball slams into my ankles. I can’t seem to get it right.
Because the Kenmore Intuition weighs 14.5 pounds, which is considered medium-heavy, moving it about may be difficult for people with back problems. Yet, despite this, it is still lighter than the Dyson, which makes it much simpler to maneuver.
In addition to this, unlike the Dyson model’s ball-shaped design, the vacuum’s head is designed to slip under furniture more easily.
Range
The Kenmore Intuition BU4022 range isn’t very good. The power cord is 30 feet long, so I can clean huge rooms constantly without moving to a different outlet. Nevertheless, its hose is limited to about 3 feet long, which is an issue when cleaning high-up shelves or other hard-to-reach areas. However, this range is acceptable because the Kenmore features Lift-away Functionality, which allows the canister to be removed from the nozzle. Then you can lift it up to clean that area.
Nonetheless, the Dyson Ball Animal 2 has an impressively large coverage area. The 35-foot power cord and 15-foot hose on this vacuum make it feasible to reach all corners of even the largest rooms without switching outlets. Cleaning behind furniture or on top shelves is a breeze with the help of the vacuum’s long wand and hose.
Filtration System & Dirt Bin
The Winner: Kenmore Intuition BU4022
Dirt Bin
The Kenmore Intuition has a 3.5-liter capacity dustbin, while the Dyson Ball Animal 2 can only hold 1.2 liters (dry) of debris. The former option is superior because its dust cup is larger.
Additionally, Dyson’s dirt bin is made of see-through plastic, so you can see at a glance how much space is left and know when it’s time to empty the vacuum’s contents. Kenmore Intuition is a bagged-type machine, and it features a handy indicator light to signal when the bag needs to be changed. Also, very handy!
Bagged vs Bagless Design
Inconveniently, HEPA cotton bags are not inexpensive. But, if someone in your household suffers from asthma, you should know that dust is not their friend and should not hesitate to invest a little more money. The bags that come with the Kenmore Intuition are quite large and appear to have sufficient capacity to last for a while.
While Dyson’s bagless container is a fantastic time- and money-saver, I would advise opening and emptying it outdoors. As you do this, a lot of dust gets kicked up into the air, which could be a problem if you or someone in your family suffers from asthma. Thankfully, the dirt may be easily ejected from the vacuum with the press of a button. Whenever I need to empty the dustbin, I don’t even have to touch the trash inside. All you have to do is give the container a quick clean, and it will be ready to go!
Filter
These two have a built-in HEPA filter. Indeed, they lessen the amount of dust and dirt that escapes into the air.
While the pre-motor and HEPA filters can be washed and reused, no replacement interval is required. But, if you do notice a decline in performance after performing regular maintenance, you can replace them with new ones. You buy these two filters together in a single package from the manufacturer’s website.
Utilities
The Winner: Dyson Ball Animal 2
Headlights
LED headlights make it easier to see dirt and debris while vacuuming, resulting in more complete cleaning. This is especially essential in hard-to-reach areas, such as nooks and crannies, where dirt can hide. Hence, the Kenmore Intuition with LED headlights can help me clean better in the dark.
Dyson Ball Animal 2 does not have built-in LED headlights. As a result, Kenmore Intuition emerges victorious in this particular respect.
Accessories
The Dyson Ball Animal 2 is packaged with more tools and brushes. As you vacuum, it is possible to change the configuration to adapt to clean more scenarios.
The Dyson Ball Animal 2 is packaged with a total of eight attachments. As the soft bristle can be moved over the crevice tool, you can easily clean both tight corners and delicate surfaces. In addition to that, there is a turbo brush for removing messes from fabric, a hard bristle brush for removing dirt that has become firmly embedded, and an extension wand for getting into hard-to-reach places. In contrast to Kenmore models, this vacuum comes with a tool designed specifically for grooming pets.
The Kenmore Intuitive Vacuum comes with fewer tools and brushes to choose from. It has a Pet HandiMate turbo brush to get pet hair off of fabrics, a hard bristle brush to get rid of stubborn dirt, and an extension wand to help you reach places that are hard to get to. Its 3-in-1 combination tool functions as an upholstery cleaner, crevice tool, and dusting brush in one convenient package, making it ideal for use on delicate surfaces.
Removable Brushroll
The Dyson is the only one of the two that enables us to take the brushroll out of the vacuum. When I want to effortlessly clean my brushroll and get rid of any hair that may have become tangled around it, this is a great beneficial feature to have.
With the unremovable brushroll of the Kenmore, I have to flip the vacuum head over to remove any trapped debris or tangled hair by hand or using scissors. I have to do this periodically to ensure it doesn’t affect the suction performance of the machine. If you insist on removing the brushroll, you will need to undo a total of 13 screws. This can be considered a bit of a challenge.
