The comparison between the Jimmy H8 Pro and Dyson V11 appears to be an imbalanced contest, and as anticipated, the latter emerged as the victor for good reasons.
Upon its initial release, the Dyson V11 Torque Drive sparked an unprecedented swell within the wireless vacuuming community. It is one of the few stick vacuums that can compete with upright vacuums regarding cleaning performance. These days, it’s no longer Dyson’s most powerful and smartest model, but it’s still a formidable contender for many other models out there.
The Jimmy H8 works better on hard floors since it comes with a soft roller, which is ideal for this surface type. So if the majority of your home consists of hard floors, this model will blow your mind with its sublime cleaning performance and wide range of attachments.

Jimmy H8 Pro Vs Dyson V11: Differences
The Dyson V11 wins 2-0 and ties twice against the H8 Pro. The Dyson V11 performs better on carpets and has a larger and easier-to-use dustbin. The H8 Pro does a better job of cleaning hard floors, is lighter in weight, and can charge two batteries at the same time (the second battery needs to be purchased separately).
Cleaning Performance
Winner: Dyson V11
Suction Power & Floorhed
The Jimmy H8 Pro generates 160 AW at its lowest power setting, which is a notch below the Dyson V11 that maxes out at 185 AW. Does this imply that the V11 consistently outperforms the H8 Pro regarding cleaning performance across all scenarios? Not exactly! There is more than one factor that determines how well a vacuum performs!
The Jimmy H8 Pro comes with an electric soft roller floorhead, including a soft roller which is commonly referred to as a “hard floor roller” since it works best on this type of surface. On the other hand, the Dyson V11 has a High Torque cleaner head, including a traditional roller, which is designed for multi-surfaces.
Hard Floor
The Jimmy H8 Pro, with its well-made specialty roller, effortlessly passed my test with flying colors. It maintains a strong grip on my floor but can still sweep and pick up all the debris, including the large ones.
On the other hand, the Dyson V11 also easily removed all small and medium debris. But when dealing with larger debris, I had to put in more effort – I had to fully open the two gates on the nozzle and wiggle the vacuum a bit. Anyway, this is still a great result for a model that lacks a soft roller.
Carpet
This is where the Dyson V11 really shined. I found this model worked best when it was in auto mode – about 99% of the total debris was picked up. With boost mode enabled, it sucked down my carpets, especially the high-pile one, making it very difficult to push.
As expected, the Jimmy H8 Pro performed so badly on carpets that I wouldn’t recommend it on this surface type. It left behind a fair amount of debris, especially the fine and small ones – even though I did a few extra passes, it couldn’t get my carpet free of all the debris. When I strongly pressed the floorhead into my carpet, the vacuum went into overload error.
Hair Test
Both the Jimmy H8 Pro vs Dyson V11 could pick up all the hair on the floor in the back-and-forth pass. Another cool thing is that Jimmy’s engineers installed a comb behind the roller, which ensures the roller is free from hair wrap. Similarly, I also found a comb behind the Dyson V11’s multi-surface brush roller, which is called “polycarbonate teeth.” My examination showed that these de-tang technologies actually worked.

If drilling and piercing into walls is a big no-no for you, the H8 Pro’s charging stand throws you a lifeline. This station is engineered to store and charge the vacuum and hold an attachment. This self-standing charging system doesn’t have room for all the attachments, which is one of its biggest flaws – I had to find another place to store the rest.
On the flip side, the Dyson V11 comes with a wall-mounted charging station, keeping them well-organized and keeping the floor clutter-free. That said, you’ll also need to put some accessories somewhere nearby. If you have pets or kids at home, it’s a good idea to keep the vacuum out of their reach. Of course, that’s not the only way to charge and store the vacuum – you also have the option to directly connect the charger to the battery and store the vacuum neatly in your cabinet.
Weight & Maneuverability
Weighing in at a mere 5.77 pounds, the Jimmy H8 Pro is impressively lightweight for a cord-free vacuum. According to the manufacturer, its handle is designed so that the weight on the user’s hand is as low as possible – Not an exaggeration. It felt really lightweight and ergonomically pleasing in my hand. Maneuvering and carrying it around was also a breeze for me.
Still, its weight started to be a burden, but not significantly, when I removed the nozzle from the wand and used it to remove the cobwebs from the ceiling. I don’t consider this a con since it’s a widespread issue for all stick vacuums.
Although slightly heavier at 6.7 lbs, the Dyson V11 still falls within the lightweight side, and I found it offered better maneuverability and swiveling capabilities. It’s also a bit top-heavy by design and can conveniently transform into a compact and lightweight handheld vacuum for portable use.
The Dyson V11 can lie completely flat on the floor, so I found myself having no problems cleaning under furniture. The H8 Pro even knocks this task out of the park with the included plastic joint – I didn’t have to bend over, which is a big pro for those with backaches. But this tool doesn’t work with the main nozzle, which is powered only when attached to the main aluminum tube.
Battery Life
The Jimmy H8 Pro vs Dyson V11 boasts a continuous runtime of 70 and 60 minutes, respectively, but only in the lowest power setting and with the non-motorized tools. I tested each one with the main nozzle, which is typically used most of the time, and here are the results:
Jimmy H8 Pro | Dyson V11 | |
---|---|---|
Minimum Battery Life | ≈ 14 mins | ≈ 9 mins |
Maximum Battery Life | ≈ 59 mins | ≈ 54 mins |
Charging Time | ≈ 4.5 hours | ≈ 4 hours |
It will take a long time for these babies to be fully charged and ready for the next vacuuming, so having two batteries on hand seems like a smart move. Both come out of the box with just one battery, so the spare one must be purchased separately, which makes sense for those with large apartments.
The Jimmy H8 Pro includes a battery charging holder, so two batteries can essentially be charged at once: one is connected directly to the charger (or charged directly without removing it from the vacuum) while the other is parked in the charging holder. Meanwhile, the Dyson V11’s wall mount can only charge the batteries one by one.
Dust Cup & Filtration System
Winner: Dyson V11
The Dyson V11’s dustbin has a capacity of 0.75 liters, which is emptied in one of the easiest and most user-friendly ways: detach the wand from the top portion, push the red lever down to open the hatch, and all vacuumed dust and dirt will find their way down the garbage. It can also be entirely removed from the unit for a thorough cleaning.
The volume of the H8 Pro’s waste container is 0.5 liter, which is slightly smaller and needs to be emptied more frequently. Empty it also very easily by pressing one button to open the lid. To clean it thoroughly, you will need to dismantle the cyclone. I recommend doing it outdoors to prevent dirt and allergens from getting back into the room.
The Dyson V11 brings to the table what people with severe allergies most expect from a vacuum: a sealed System and HEPA-level filter. Together, they ensure a cleaner and healthier environment. HEPA filters can be washed and reused many times before needing to be replaced with a new one. It should be rinsed with water at least once a month or whenever its LCD screen tells you.
The H8 Pro’s filtration system is also great with a cyclone, a mesh filter, and a HEPA filter – I believe no kind of dust can escape from this multi-level filtration system. All of them can be rinsed under the tap.
Utilities
Winner: Tie
User Interface
Both the Jimmy H8 Pro vs Dyson V11 are equipped with high-tech LCD screens that detail the battery level, the current power mode, filter status, and some other required notifications. They help manage the vacuum easier. The H8 Pro shows battery life as a percentage, while the Dyson V11 tells you how many minutes it can run before getting the next charge.
The Dyson V11 has a pistol-like trigger that needs to be held down to keep the vacuum running. Whenever you let the trigger go, the vacuum will shut off to optimize its battery life. It sounds great, but if your daily vacuuming schedule lasts a long time, this system will tire your hands quickly. It would be better if it were equipped with a trigger lock feature like the Pure One S12.
There are two buttons on the H8 Pro’s control panel below the LED display: one is used to turn the vacuum on/off, and the other is used to toggle between four modes. So I didn’t need to keep the trigger down for the vacuum to work continuously—just press the power button once to start the unit until you end the job with another press.
Power Modes
The Jimmy H8 Pro has four modes (eco, auto, turbo, and max), while the Dyson V11 includes four (eco, auto, and boost). They share auto mode, where they can regulate the power automatically according to the detected surface for optimal performance. It is worth noticing that this mode only works when these machines are attached to the main nozzle. I found the H8 Pro to have a significant delay. Wish it could react as fast to changes in the surface type as the Dyson V11.
