The Folletto VK7s vs Dyson V15, which one will be the winner? For me, it is the Dyson V15 because I’ve figured out that its pick-up performance is relatively better than its rival.
Specifically, the Dyson V15 is better at picking up larger debris and pet hair owing to its included soft-roller cleaner head and the hair-detangling brushroll of the Digital Motorbar floorhead. Besides, the Dyson V15 has a long battery life and amazing attachments for tackling every corner of the house. Thus, I believe this is a great cordless vacuum for pet owners.
About the Folletto VK7s, also known as Kobold VK7s, I think if you are a fan of smart features and bagged, all-rounder vacuums, you may find it is the right option to go for. The VK7s offers Bluetooth connection, wet-dry cleaning options, and an excellent 3-layer filtration system with disposable dust bags. However, it does not have a self-cleaning brush roll, so it may be prone to hair clogging.

Folletto VK7s vs Dyson V15: Differences
The Dyson V15 wins 2 and ties 2 in the competition against the Folletto VK7s. For me, the Dyson V15 is better in cleaning performance in utility. Meanwhile, in terms of filtration systems and design convenience, they are comparable.
Cleaning performance
Winner: Dyson V15
As I did not measure their suction power, I cannot really decide which one has stronger suction power. Therefore in this category, I assessed their pick-up performance on carpeted and bare floors. Besides, as the Folletto VK7s has a floorhead for cleaning wet dust while the Dyson V15 doesn’t, I will compare their performance with dry debris.
My evaluations after several tests are that on either carpeted or bare floors, these two vacuums are great at picking up small to medium debris, but the Dyson V15 is relatively better at collecting up large things and pet hairs. Besides, they transition between carpets and hard floors easily without changing the suction power or cleaner heads.
In particular, when using the Folletto VK7s and Dyson V15 to collect the sugar/seasoning particles, rice, and cereals on bare floors, I observed that they could collect these objects in a forward pass. On carpets or rugs, they need more passes to get all things sucked up.
However, if I use the highest suction setting on carpets, these vacuums are hard to maneuver. Besides, I see that when the Folletto VK7s moves from the bare floor to the carpet, its brush roll starts to spin faster. This also occurs when using the Dyson V15 with the Digital Motorbar cleaner head in Auto mode. This, I believe, is to provide more surface agitation to enhance the pick-up performance on carpets.
With larger debris like cheerios or kibbles, the Dyson V15 performance is better because it has a soft-roller cleaner head, which is specifically designed for cleaning bare floors. Moreover, the Motobar cleaner head of the Dyson V15 can handle such large debris pretty well because its gate can be widened by adjusting the front switch.
The Folletto VK7s can deal with large debris but need more passes to pick all things up and sometimes pushes things around. Besides, the Follettto VK7s’ cleaner head is not ideal for cleaning pet hair as it may be prone to hair clogging. This is because it does not feature the self-cleaning brushroll design like the Digital Motorbar floor head of the Dyson V15. Therefore, the Dyson V15 is a more appropriate option for pet owners.
Dust bin & Filtration
Tie!
The dust container of the Folletto VK7s is different from that of the Dyson V15. The Folletto VK7s is a bagged vacuum, meaning that it uses a disposable dust bag to hold collected dust. The dust bag has certain benefits, such as you don’t need to empty the dust cup frequently and no hassle of dust clouds like when using the Dyson V15 bagless vacuum.
However, the notable drawback of using bagged vacuums is the recurring cost initiated by purchasing extra replacement dust bags periodically. So, if you do not plan to spend extra money on replacement bags, getting a cordless vacuum like Dyson V15 is a good option. If you are afraid of facing dust clouds when dumping it, you can wear a mask.
The filtration systems of both Dyson V15 and Folletto VK7s are excellent as they are completely sealed systems and can filter 99.99% large to fine dust particles with a size of 0.3 microns. Thus, they are great vacuums for allergy sufferers.
Design & Convenience
Tie!
Maneuverability
Both of them are easy to maneuver and light, at least for me. They all can transform into handheld vacuums for cleaning above-floor surfaces and even car interiors. The big differences between the Folletto VK7s and the Dyson V15 are the foldable wand and self-standing feature of the VK7s.
Particularly, you can fold the wand of the VK7s, making it more compact. This also becomes the handle when the VK7s is used as a handheld vacuum. Additionally, the VK7s can stand alone like an upright vacuum, so you do not need to drill holes in the wall to store it. These features allow the Folletto VK7s to be stored more easily and conveniently than its competitor.
Battery
It says that the Folletto VK7s and the Dyson V15 can run up to 60 minutes without being recharged. However, I noticed that the max runtime of the Folletto VK7s was around 35 minutes, while that of the Dyson V15 was around 60 minutes in the lowest suction power settings. Still, the charging time of the VK7s’ is much shorter than that of the Dyson V15, about 2 hours to be fully charged, compared to the Dyson V15’s 4.5 hours.
Yet, I do prefer using the cordless vacuum with longer battery life because I sometimes do long deep cleaning sessions. The long charging time does not really bother me, as I often notice the battery signal after finishing a cleaning cycle.
Utility
Winner: Dyson V15 Detect
Laser light
The Dyson V15 is the victor of this round thanks to the amazing green laser light on its soft fluffy cleaner head. Cleaning the hard floor is much more enjoyable since I can see the tiny dust particles on the bare floor readily. Therefore, the Dyson V15’s laser light is a beneficial feature to take into consideration if your home is mostly made up of bare flooring.
Intelligent sensors & display
The Dyson V15 has the piezo sensor that is claimed to measure and count the dust particles during your whole cleaning session. In the auto mode, it also automatically increases the suction power when vacuuming the high dust density areas, ensuring high pick-up efficiency.
I don’t know whether the Folletto VK7s feature any sensor, as the brand does not mention, but I noticed that the brush roll speed increased when it moved from the bare floor to the carpet. So, I think that the Folletto VK7s features a sensor for detecting cleaning surfaces.
Though both Dyson V15 and Folletto VK7s have a display screen, I prefer the LCD screen of the Dyson V15 to the digital display of the Folletto VK7s. It is because the Dyson V15’s LCD screen shows not only the selected power mode and the corresponding runtime countdown but also the maintenance alerts and dust reports.
The dust reports can help me know how fresh my living condition is so that I can promptly make some solutions to enhance the atmosphere condition, like purchasing an air purifier. On the other hand, the display screen of the Folletto VK7s is on its battery, so it only shows the battery percentage depending on the selected mode.
Bluetooth connection
This is a unique feature of the Folletto VK7s. It allows you to connect the vacuum to your phone via Bluetooth and its app. In the app, you can know how much time you spend on your cleaning, the alerts, the status of the battery, etc. This is kind of an interesting feature for me. If you are a fan of smart features, Folletto VK7s can be a good option to consider.
Attachments
Both the Dyson V15 and Folletto VK7s have a wide range of cleaning accessories, including crevice tool, upholstery tool, dusting brush, pet tool, etc. For the Folleto VK7s, the attachment set has the tool for cleaning and washing the mattress. The Dyson V15 also has a tool for vacuuming mattress surfaces but only in the package of the V15 Detect Absolute version.
However, if you are a pet owner, I believe that you will love the anti-tangle hair screw tool of the Dyson V15. As its name implies, this tool is effective in removing pet hair on upholstery surfaces and has an anti-hair wrap brushroll design.
