It’s not easy to balance the price and value aspect when looking for a cut-price vacuum. But maybe Endura Reach vs Lite is your answer! These vacuums are extremely affordable, and they have proven to be worth the shot. After testing their cleaning performance and comparing their design to see which is more convenient, I have picked Endura Reach as the ultimate winner!

The Endura Reach vacuum, manufactured by Dirt Devil, is designed to be lightweight and easy to use. It weighs only 9 pounds, which makes it easy to carry up and down stairs or move from room to room. It also features a 10-foot cleaning reach, which means you can clean high areas like ceilings or the top of shelves without a chair or ladder. The device also isn’t too loud and can pick up dust, food pieces, and some pet hair.

Endura Lite is a very formidable opponent. It has quite consistent suction and also weighs only 9 pounds. The device is very compact and can easily be hauled around or stored in a small corner. However, compared to Endura Reach, this model has a shorter hose reach and a smaller dirt bin, which only holds 0.26 gallons of dry dirt, while the winner can store up to 0.4 gallons.

Endura Reach vs Lite: Differences

Endura Reach wins 2-0 and ties 2 times against Endura Lite. Overall these vacuums are very similar and come close to each other. The major reason why Reach wins is its longer hose that can access more areas. Cleaning-wise, they are equally potent!

Cleaning performance

Tie

Bare floor

Both vacuums clean well on bare floors with moderate suction. Why moderate? Because when I clean with a powerful airflow vacuum, I only have to go through the same section with one push forward and one backward max. With Endura Reach and Lite, I usually push over the same section about 3-4 times to eliminate 99-100% of the dirt that I see on the floor. So, the suction can be considered moderate, judging from the number of rollovers.

Endura Reach can clean well on bare floors with about 4 rollovers
Endura Reach can clean well on bare floors with about 4 rollovers

As for bigger cereal or trash pieces, they get into the intake port rather easily, thanks to the bristle brushroll. Paired with the airflow, the larger trash pieces are the ones that get cleaned easier compared to dust particles. And if the large pieces don’t get picked up, I will put the crevice tool or dust brush to work. But overall, I recommend using the floor nozzle more because the cleaning performance is more impressive.

On bare floors, I also notice that the push forward and the pull backward don’t clean. Usually, when I pull back, I get to clear the floor of debris, which looks very satisfying.

Carpets

The truth is, I enjoy cleaning low-pile carpets with these vacuums. Endura Reach and Lite can clear my carpets from dust and pet hair very easily while not forcing my wrist to work, all thanks to their lightweight body and moderate suction. After each swipe, they leave a pattern of lighter color, and it takes about 3 pushes and pulls to get all the debris out of a low-pile one.

On the contrary, high-pile stuff isn’t for this pair. I have checked their head heights, and apparently, they are auto-adjusting. Vacuums with manually controllable head heights are more likely to work well on high-pile rugs. So if you have a thick and shaggy carpet at home that you are looking forward to cleaning, remember that it won’t be great with Reach and Lite.

Cord and hose length

Winner: Endura Reach

Endura Reach boasts a flexible hose that can stretch up to 10ft
Endura Reach boasts a flexible hose that can stretch up to 10ft

Both vacuums have a 20ft cord, but the main difference lies in the hose length. While Endura Reach boasts a flexible hose that can stretch up to 10ft, the Lite version can reach 8.9ft only. I understand the difference isn’t giant, but it’s always nice to have access to longer hoses since they allow better cleaning of curtains, bookshelves, or any top area.

Speaking of the cord length, 20ft isn’t much when you have to clean a large space packed with furniture. But this is the perfect length if you are an apartment owner. As for houses with larger rooms, I recommend 25-35ft cords.

Filtration system and dirt cup

Winner: Endura Reach

Regarding the filtration system, these vacuums use standard cartridge filters to ensure that dust particles remain inside the chamber instead of escaping into the environment. In addition, these filters are washable, so they are economical as well!

As for the dirt cup, Endura Reach excels with its 0.4-gallon one. Since Endura Lite is all about compactness, as reflected in its name, the vacuum can only hold up to 0.26 gallons of debris. That said, filling the entire chamber with dust in one go is never recommended because it can strain the suction power greatly. A filled dust cup and packed filter are a kill for an efficient cleaning session!

Endura Lites can hold up to 0.26 gallons of debris

So if you find the dust bin filled to half or slightly over half, I recommend dumping the content before you continue with your cleaning schedule.

Build quality

Tie

You get what you pay for. It’s all I can say about the build quality. Being highly accessible vacuums, these devices aren’t the sturdiest bunch on the market. The assembly is a bit flimsy, and users should treat them carefully instead of ramming them against furniture or walls when cleaning difficult spaces.

With that said, it’s very reasonable for the price. It’s almost impossible to get more affordable brand-new models like these. And the suction power is very good to skip. So, despite some cons to their design, I still recommend Endura Reach and Lite to users who want to dial down their budget.
