And for me, the ultimate winner is still Dyson V15, but Philips 9000 also makes a bomb option for a large user group.
The Dyson V15 outshines the Philips 9000 with its superior suction power, effectively tackling stubborn dirt and debris. Its advanced laser detection technology makes it easier to spot hidden dust, ensuring a more thorough clean. The V15’s comprehensive range of versatile attachments also enables efficient cleaning on various surfaces and hard-to-reach areas. The HEPA filter is a major advantage for users’ health as well.
The Philips 9000 is a solid vacuum cleaner with excellent wet-dry function and user-friendly controls; however, it falls short when compared to the Dyson V15. Both have good cleaning performance, but Dyson V15’s concentric cyclone technology, HEPA filtration, and anti-tangle brushroll sure are too tempting to pass. The Dyson V15 and Philips 9000 are cordless vacuum cleaners with advanced technologies to enhance cleaning performance. But, they are very different in their cleaning mechanism.
With the Philips 9000, you get a wet-dry experience simultaneously. The vacuum has an extra clean water tank that we can fill with water and soap. When I vacuum/mop the floor with it, it employs suction and washing simultaneously, ensuring that the floor isn’t stained with wet patches of dust.
I really like this model’s wet cleaning function because it is automatic. I have seen wet-dry vacuums with which users have to press a button manually to get the system to wet the rollers. With this one, it’s not the case. I have been able to clean from dry to wet messes like spaghetti or spilled milk with Philips 9000.
As for Dyson V15, it’s designed for dry cleaning, and it does its job very well. In fact, with its 230AW suction, it’s on the top list of strongest cordless vacuums out there, above Philips 9000’s suction. I have tested it against pet hair, dirt, dry cereals, etc., and the vacuum works like a charm. It takes me only 2 rollovers to clean any surface with this model, whether bare floors or carpeted areas.

The Philips 9000 features a unique 360° suction nozzle designed for efficient cleaning along walls and in corners, capturing dust and dirt from all directions. While the Dyson V15 has specialized cleaner heads for different floor types, it does not have a 360° suction nozzle, but it does have good edge cleaning.
Regarding the run-time, each vacuum performs differently depending on its cleaning mode. With Philips 9000, we have:
- Vac & mop regular mode: 25 minutes
- Vac only regular mode: 45 minutes
- Vac only turbo mode: 25 minutes
As for Dyson, the run times are:
- Eco mode: 60-70 minutes
- Auto mode: 40 minutes

Dyson V15’s set of nozzles is amazing! We have Laser Slim Fluffy™ cleaner head, digital motorbar, hair screw tool, combination tool, crevice tool, and a lot more. Of course, Dyson designs their nozzles with high compatibility with different product lines, so I’m not surprised they can pull this off. But it’s still impressive as hell!
Speaking of the Digital Motorbar ™ cleaner head, this part is anti-tangle and can easily deal with human and pet hair. With Philips 9000, I sometimes have to remove wet hair from the roller due to its standard design with no tangle-free motor.
Also, even though both devices are equipped with headlights, Dyson V15’s green laser light looks much cooler, and I find it able to reveal dust particles much clearer than the white LED lights of Philips 9000.
Filter and dirt bin

The Dyson V15 utilizes a multi-stage filtration process, which includes cyclonic separation, a pre-motor filter, and the HEPA filter. This system ensures that dust, debris, and allergens are effectively captured and prevented from re-entering the air.
After passing through the pre-motor filter, the air flows through the HEPA filter, which is designed to capture almost 100% of particles as small as 0.3 microns. This level of filtration ensures that the exhaust air from the vacuum cleaner is much cleaner and safer to breathe, especially for allergy sufferers and those with respiratory issues.
The Philips 9000 uses a 3-stage cyclonic action system as part of its filtration and dust-separation process. Going through multicycle filtration, this vacuum can do an equally amazing job capturing dust and pollens like Dyson V15.
The 3 stages, however, consist of foam discs instead of the famous multilayered meshes of HEPA. The latter is able to capture smaller particles, while the former struggle a bit more to avoid dust cloud (even though it’s small).
