The duo has a sealed system, meaning nothing can escape into the air before being properly filtered through the filters. But, as I mentioned above, the HEPA filter is only available in the Dyson V15 Detect Absolute version, making it the favorite choice for allergy sufferers and the winner in this category.
I have always considered a HEPA filter the standard in the vacuuming industry since it can almost completely trap dust and allergens (99.9%) in vacuumed air. That’s something foam, felt filters, and others can’t achieve. Additionally, the HEPA filter is washable and can last a long time before requiring replacement.

I said that the Dyson V15 Detect Absolute comes with the most accessories, right? Let’s take a look at all the attachments that come with each version.

Cleaning Performance
The Dyson V15 has a maximum suction power of 230 AW, which is extremely powerful. So, prior to conducting the cleaning tests, I had high hopes for the results. Fortunately, it made me over the moon with its excellent cleaning performance.
The Dyson V15 comes with two cleaning heads: The Laser Slim Fluffy and Digital Motorbar floorheads. They are designed to clean hard floors and carpets, respectively. In fact, the Motorbar floorhead can also be used for vacuuming hard floors, but that is not its primary function.
So I used the Laser Fluffy floorhead on my floors, and it picked up all the fine dust and debris I had previously dropped. This head has a green laser light to ensure I didn’t miss anything on the surface. Better yet, I found the brush was removable and washable.
On my carpets, I used the Digital Motorbar floorhead, and the Dyson V15 also proved to be a workhorse by sucking things up like crazy. There was a slider on the floorhead, which I used to deal with larger debris or whenever I found it difficult to push the machine on shaggy carpets.
After doing carpeting tests, the amount of hair that stayed on the roller was negligible because the floorhead is equipped with an anti-hair wrap system. This system includes polycarbonate teeth designed to minimize tangles. It wasn’t perfect, but it worked!

The Dyson V15 measures 49.6 x 10.5 x 9.8 inches. It features a compact design that is easy to handle and store. It comes with a wand clip, which allows for storing up to two attachments on board. Its charging station also has room for two other attachments.
Weight And Maneuverability
When completely built, the Dyson V15 weighs about 6.8 pounds, and when it is in the handheld configuration, it weighs about 4 pounds. It’s not the lightest Dyson stick, but it was lightweight enough that I could use one hand during a long vacuuming session without feeling wrist fatigue.
Battery Life
How long the Dyson V15 can work before it runs out of battery depends largely on your chosen vacuuming setting. This machine features three modes: Eco, Auto, and Boost. The first setting consumes the least battery, while the last one drains the most battery. Here are the details:

It takes about 4 hours (229 minutes) for the machine to be fully charged. So if you only have a single battery and your unit runs out of battery in the middle, you have to wait quite a while to be able to complete the rest. So it is wise to invest in an extra battery to minimize downtime.
Dust Cup Capacity
The Dyson V15 comes with a 0.75-liter dust cup, which is neither small nor particularly large. I found myself having to empty the cup several times during testing, which is a bit annoying but typical with sticks.
Emptying the dust cup was easy and a little fun. All you need to do is slide a red lever, then the door will open, and all the debris will drop into the trash. This process reminds me how to reload a shotgun, which I am familiar with thanks to the game CrossFire.
Utilities
There is a useful LCD screen on the top of the machine, which kept me well-informed about the machine while it was operating. Apart from the basics, such as my selected cleaning mode and estimated remaining run time, it also reported the number of sucked particles, which were classified into four sizes: 10, 60, 180, and 500 microns. I was surprised at how much dust and dirt the machine collected, and the LCD told me that my house wasn’t as clean as I thought it would be.
