Dyson V11 vs Roidmi X30 Pro: A Detailed Comparison of Two Top-Notch Stick Vacuums

Dyson V11 vs Roidmi X30 Pro: I call this battle a tie since both deserve to win.

The Dyson V11 (Torque Drive) is an absolute beast that is built on the success of its predecessor, the Dyson V10. It has excellent suction power and comes with a Torque Drive cleaning head designed to do the job on multiple surfaces, but it’s especially useful for carpet cleaning. This model has a large and easy-to-empty dust cup, a useful LCD display, and comes with a great set of attachments. Of course, you have to spend a lot of money to get those wonderful things.

While not cheap, the Roidmi X30 Pro is still significantly more affordable than the Dyson V11. It has great performance on hard floors but could be better on carpets. In addition to coming with lots of add-on tools, it also has a lot of bells and whistles, such as LED headlights, an OLED screen, and the ability to connect to an app.

Dyson V11 vs Roidmi X30 Pro: Differences

Both the Dyson V11 vs Roidmi X30 Pro win. The Dyson V11 shines brightly on carpets, while the Roidmi X30 Pro is flawless on hard floors. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg!

Cleaning Performance

Winner: Tie

Suction Power

The Dyson V11 vs Roidmi X30 Pro create maximum suction of 185 and 155 AW, respectively. In layman’s terms, the first one has a more powerful suction. But after testing many vacuums, one of the things that I have learned is that raw suction power isn’t everything. That said, how well a vacuum performs also depends on many other factors, including the design of the floorhead and the type of surface you are cleaning.

The Roidmi X30 Pro sports a NEX-V all-round roller that will work on any floor type. So no more getting your hands dirty to switch the roller when you move from hard floor sand to a carpet and vice versa. The Dyson V11 features a Torque Drive cleaning head that is suitable for cleaning multiple surfaces. That said, it can also be used on both hard floors and carpets.

Hard Floor

The X30 Pro worked great on my floor. In addition to picking up all the dirt and hair on the floor surface, its V-shaped brush roller could also effectively remove small crumbs and dust particles inside crevices.

In addition, the Roidmi X30 Pro also offers the ability to mop, which is generally found in robot vacuums, by combining it with a mop head. So you can vacuum and mop the floor at the same time. That is great, but I found it wasn’t as effective as mops or robot vacuums. Anyway, it is a nice-to-have feature.

The Dyson V11, with the Torque Drive cleaning head, collected almost all large debris, such as cereal, and left behind a small amount of smaller debris. There’s a three-way switch on the front of the floorhead used to raise or lower two small gates for different suction levels. As for larger items, I had to open these gates to capture them more easily.

Overall, the result is not bad, but it is worth noting that the Dyson V11 can work better with a soft roller floorhead. However, it is only offered with the Dyson V11 Absolute, not the Torque Drive model that I am referring to. The good news is that you can easily buy this soft roller floorhead separately for around $100.

Carpets

This is where the Dyson V11 worked like a dream. Along with the Torque Drive cleaning head, it collected everything easily in a single pass, and I believe this multi-surface head is really designed for this purpose. On thicker carpets, I recommend using the auto mode and/or adjusting the gates on the floorhead when you find it difficult to push the machine.

As for the Roidmi X30 Pro, it still performed well but didn’t excel as much as it did on hard floors. I was still able to detect a small amount of debris left after the first pass with my naked eye. Of course, this result is still great for a cordless vacuum.

Design and Usability

Winner: Tie

Weight and Maneuverability

Weighing in at 5.95 pounds, the Roidmi X30 Pro is among the lightest cordless stick vacuums I’ve tested. It’s lighter than the Dyson V11 at 6.7 pounds, and many other cordless sticks are available out there. Every pound of difference matters when it comes to vacuums, especially cordless stick vacuums.

These two machines are a bit top-heavy, but it’s not a deal breaker for me because I have strong arms/wrists. I could make the push-and-pull vacuuming motion non-stop easily with one hand for long periods of time. If you need something smaller and lighter, you can remove the tube and attach one of the available attachments to turn them into portable vacuums.

Storage And Attachments

The Roidmi X30 Pro is packed with a handy charging disc that can be stuck or screwed to the wall. The vacuum is magnetically attached to this charging disc, making it a neat little solution for charging and storage. You can choose to charge this vacuum by plugging it straight into the charging cord. Nevertheless, its Achilles’ heel is that there is no room on the vacuum or charging disc for storing attachments.

On the other hand, the Dyson V11 comes with a wall bracket that can also be used for storage and charging purposes. It is possible to put two attachments on the charging bracket and store two other tools on the machine’s body via a wand clip. But I also had to find another storage space because the purchase included more than four accessories.

Here are all the attachments of the Dyson V11 vs Roidmi X30 Pro, respectively:

Mattress brush.
Multifunction long crevice tool.
Pet brush and grooming tool.
Flex extension hose.
Metal connecting rod.
High-Efficiency filters.

The Dyson V11’s set includes many attachments, but only the Roidmi X30 Pro’s raised my eyebrows with its richness.

Battery Life

Dyson V11Roidmi X30 Pro
Lowest Setting≈ 76 mins≈ 82 mins
Highest Setting≈ 9 mins≈ 12 mins
Charging Time≈ 4 hours≈ 2.5 hours

Most Dyson cordless vacuums come with a replaceable and removable battery, and the Dyson V11 is no exception. Its click-in Lithium-Ion battery can be charged either on or off the unit. So if you have an extra battery, you can work with a fully charged battery while the spare gets charged. I recommend buying an extra battery for the Dyson V11 to double the vacuuming time, which is especially necessary if you often use boost mode (which drains the battery so quickly).

The Roidmi X30 Pro’s battery can also last very long between charges at the lowest suction setting, but I rarely use this mode. With the highest setting enabled, this machine drains the battery just as fast as the Dyson V11. Yet this model’s major drawback is that its battery cannot be taken out and replaced, while the recharge time is up to nearly 4 hours. So if you go with this model, keep your fingers crossed that it doesn’t run out of battery when you’re in the middle of a vacuuming cycle.

Dustbin Size And Filter

Winner: Dyson V11

The Dyson V11’s dustbin can hold 0.76 liters of dust and dirt, which may seem small but turns out to be slightly larger than the average. To empty it, all you need to do is push down a red latch, and the outer transparent sleeve will jolt down to push all the contents out. I love this mechanism because I hardly ever have to reach inside to remove things with my hand, which is a common issue with many other stick vacuums that just open a hatch.

The Roidmi X30 Pro comes with a 0.55-liter dust canister, which is too small for vacuuming large houses. I had to visit my bigger bin during vacuuming since this dust cup was pretty quickly filled. On the plus side, the lighter cup reduces the overall weight of the machine and increases the ease of vacuuming. In addition, emptying it is very easy with the push of a button.

The Dyson V11 itself also makes a great choice for allergy sufferers since it is equipped with a HEPA filter that can capture 99.9% of particles as small as 0.3 µm. It is also very easy to access, remove, and wash this filter to prolong its life.

As for the Roidmi X30 Pro, it has a Hepa-grade filter that can also be taken apart and rinsed. The manufacturer advertises that it has six levels of filtration.  I had no method of verifying this assertion, so I hope it isn’t exaggerated or a gimmick.

Utilities

Winner: Roidmi X30 Pro

Display Screen

The Dyson V11 has an LCD status screen that shows a lot of useful information, like the vacuuming modes that are turned on and how much battery is left. Once a problem with the filter occurs or maintenance is required, it’ll show an animation alert to help you deal with these problems. When charging, it’ll display the status of charging in percent. Note that this LCD screen isn’t available with the Dyson V11 Animal version.

On the other hand, the Roidmi X30 Pro has an OLED screen that shows the remaining battery life as a percentage, allowing you to know more precisely about the remaining battery life.

Headlight

One thing that the X30 Pro has over the Dyson V11 is that it has LED headlights on the nozzle. This nifty feature is especially useful for vacuuming in places where ceiling lights can’t reach, such as tight corners or under the interior.

App Connectivity

roidmi x30 pro's headlights
Roidmi X30 Pro’s headlights

The X30 Pro is a connected device, which means it can be connected to the Roidmi app on your smartphone. The app shows you some interesting and useful information, such as the cumulative vacuumed area and the total amount of calories expended while vacuuming with the machine. This information is not particularly useful for me, so I don’t care so much.

Things that I care about in this app are some long-term settings. For example, I typically use it to adjust the screen brightness and reset the filter usage display every time the filter gets changed.
