The best part is undoubtedly its AIO tower, which can automatically charge the vacuum and empty its dustbin. In addition, it can be used as a mop for quick cleanup and connected to a smartphone for convenient tracking on the go. Yet, despite its various bells and whistles, it slightly falters regarding cleaning performance.
In contrast, the Dyson V11 Torque Drive may not be bursting at the seams with cutting-edge features, but its stellar cleaning prowess is more than enough to captivate and win over many users. Whether on hard floors or carpets, this one has great performance!

Like the rest of the Dyson stick lineup, the Dyson V11 includes a compact wall mount. After taking a few rudimentary steps to screw it to the wall, it becomes a safe and organized place to store/charge the vacuum and houses two attachments. Moreover, the other two attachments can be snugly tucked onto the vacuum’s body via the onboard storage clip. For those averse to wall drilling, just plug the charger directly into the battery for charging and stash the remaining components neatly in your cupboard for storage.
The LG Cordzero A9 is on the more convenient side with the presence of an all-in-one (AIO) station that provides the ABC solution: “Auto emptying,” “Battery recharging,” and “Compact storage.” Simply put, it serves as a clean station, a charging hub, and a tool holder, thus earning its “All-in-One” moniker.
This station has two folding doors at the front, which hide the storage space for all the smaller tools. Also, I found a folding hook outside each door to hold the biggest parts, the cleaning head and the mop nozzle, and a charging slot atop the station for the included spare battery. When not in use, just dock the vacuum here, and it will automatically be charged. So basically, all attachments, including the vacuum, are safely and neatly stored in a single place.
The standing rectangular cube tower also has a very eye-catching and futuristic appearance. It seems designed to be the perfect decorative addition to a smart home rather than something that needs to be tucked away somewhere less visible. Mine comes in a nice “Sand Beige” color, and as far as I’m aware, this model is also offered in two other color options – just choose something that seamlessly blends with the rest of your room to enhance its overall aesthetic appeal.
It is worth noting that this tower is quite cumbersome, with dimensions of 39.8 x 11.8 x 10.2 inches. Hence, finding the appropriate spot to put it can be a puzzle for individuals residing in compact apartments.
Weight & Maneuverability
When fully assembled, the Dyson V11 Torque Drive vs LG Cordzero A9 weigh 6.7 and 5.9 pounds, respectively. These boys feel very comfortable in my hand, and maneuvering them was a delightful and effortless experience. I found the Dyson V11 swivel slightly better, but the LG Cordzero A9 offers more flexibility with a telescopic wand, allowing me to easily increase/decrease the length of the vacuum for a longer reach/more compact storage.
In the handheld configuration, they are slightly lighter and more compact, making them ideal for cleaning hard-to-reach areas. With the wand and appropriate attachments, I effortlessly cleaned the ceiling and bookshelves but found myself having to switch hands a few times to prevent fatigue – this is an old-age issue with stick vacuums.
Both can lie completely flat, but the Dyson V11 takes the lead thanks to its lower profile floorhead, allowing it to excel at reaching under furniture and tight spaces with greater ease. On the other hand, the LG Cordzero A9’s nozzle is a little tall, making it a bit difficult to clean underneath low-pedestal tables and cabinets. It would be better if they were equipped with some sort of technology that illuminates such dark areas, providing better visibility for thorough cleaning.
Battery Life
The Dyson V11 Torque Drive and LG Cordzero A9 are advertised to provide continuous runtimes of 60 and 80 minutes, respectively. These quoted battery lives initially impressed me. But in hindsight, I realized that these numbers were not achieved when using the vacuums with floorheads attached.

The vacuum must be used with a non-motorized tool to achieve the advertised battery life and run non-stop at the lowest power setting. But this usage scenario is not typically encountered in the real world.
The LG Cordzero A9 comes equipped with a pair of removable batteries straight out of the box. This means that the vacuum’s runtime can be effectively doubled by simply replacing a depleted battery with a fully charged one, facilitating longer cleaning sessions. And as mentioned earlier, two batteries can be charged simultaneously, so you can have two fully charged without double the charging time.
On the other hand, the Dyson V11 also uses a removable battery called a “click-in.” The spare battery isn’t included in the initial package and needs to be purchased separately. Also, its wall mount doesn’t have room for an extra battery, meaning you can just charge them alternately. So to have a smooth cleaning experience, it is advisable to fully charge both batteries the day before to ensure they are ready for the following day’s cleaning session.

Suction Power & Floorhead
In reality, several other factors come into play that influence a vacuum’s overall cleaning effectiveness, and the most prominent among them are suction power and floorhead.
The Dyson V11 Torque Drive maxes out at 185 AW, while the LG Cordzero A9 peaked at 200 AW. The second one may appear more powerful in layman’s terms, but it’s crucial to note that suction power alone doesn’t guarantee superior cleaning performance.
Regarding the floorhead, the Dyson V11 includes a High Torque cleaner head, while the LG Cordzero A9 comes with a Universal Power Nozzle. They are essentially multi-surface cleaning heads that can work on both hard floors and carpets.

Although the Dyson V11 Torque Drive does not include a soft roller like the V11 Absolute version, it still passed this test with excellent scores across the board. There was no difficulty with small and fine debris. But to deal with larger debris, I found it necessary to fully open the two gates on the cleaning head and give the vacuum a gentle waggle
The LG Cordzero A9 also collected all the small debris without hassle. However, it encountered challenges when it came to handling larger debris because of its low-clearance floorhead.

Once again, the Dyson V11 showcased exceptional performance on my carpets, effectively capturing the majority of the total debris. In contrast, the LG Cordzero A9 continued to face difficulties with larger materials.
Hair Test
Both the Dyson V11 Torque Drive vs LG Cordzero A9 did an excellent job at collecting hair and fur. Only a minimal amount of long hair remained on their rollers, and removing it by hand was a breeze – This is an amazing result, considering that they aren’t equipped with any type of anti-tangle technology. In addition, the Pet Nozzle that comes with the LG Cordzero A9 also picked up all the hair/fur with zero tangled hair.
Dustbin & Filtration System
Winner: LG Cordzero A9
The Dyson V11 features a spacious 0.75-liter dustbin, while the LG Cordzero A9’s canister has a capacity of 0.5 liters. But the second one can hold more dust than it seems, thanks to “Kompressor” technology, which is just a side lever. And when you slide this lever up and down a couple of times, all the vacuumed debris, grit, and pet hair will compress, which helps prevent clogs and allows the dustbin to hold more.
Emptying the Dyson V11’s dustbin is a breeze with the “Point and Shoot” mechanism, which involves pressing a lever to push all the contents out. As for the LG Cordzero A9, emptying its dustbin is completely hands-free: just put it properly into the AIO tower.
There are two options for emptying the Cordzero A9: automatic and button pressing. With auto mode enabled, the dustbin will be automatically emptied whenever you park the vacuum at the station. Another way is to press a button to start the emptying process and make another press to stop it. All the dust and dirt will be sent into a 2.5-liter single-use dust bag inside the tower. The initial package includes three dust bags, and you can buy the new one on Amazon. The station includes washable motor protection and fine dust filters, and they should be washed regularly to ensure their longevity and optimal performance.
When it comes to the filtration system, the Dyson V11 features a sealed system and a HEPA filter. This combination makes sure that none of the dust and allergens in the vacuumed air are able to escape before the filter can safely capture them. The HEPA filter needs to be washed under running water every time a maintenance alert is displayed on the LCD screen.
The LG Cordzero A9 sports a 5-step filtration system that is advertised as being able to trap 99.99% of dust and dirt particles as small as 0.5 μm. It includes a cyclone, a pre-filter, and an exhaust (HEPA) filter. They are all washable and should be rinsed at least once a month.

User Interface & Control Method
The Dyson V11 features a handy LCD screen that shows the remaining battery life (accurately in minutes and seconds) and the current power mode (eco, auto, or boost). It also reminds you whenever a blockage is happening in the roller/pipe, or it is time to clean the filter (or it is not installed properly). Better yet, it also provides tutorial videos to assist you in troubleshooting issues.
On the flip side, although the LG Cordzero A9 offers a wealth of technological features, it lacks a screen, which has become increasingly common in the realm of stick vacuums. This is something of a puzzle. Its battery life is displayed via an indicator conveniently located on the handle.
Regarding the control method, the Dyson V11 requires pressing a trigger to power the vacuum and pressing a button to toggle between three modes. It’s worth noting that continuously holding down the trigger can potentially lead to hand fatigue over time.
The Cordzero A9’s user interface is extremely simple and user-friendly, with three buttons: the power button, the turbo button, and the Wi-Fi button. Everything is within the reach of the thumb.
Auto Mode
The Dyson V11’s auto mode is a bonus. This innovative feature automatically adjusts the suction power based on the surface type detected by Dynamic Load Sensor technology, eliminating the need for manual mode switching during vacuuming. It allows me to focus on the cleaning task at hand without any adjustments and interruptions.
Mop Ability
In recent times, there has been a growing trend among brands to transform their machines into more than just traditional stick vacuums by integrating mop functionality. However, thus far, I have found none of the models truly convincing when it comes to their mop features, and the LG Cordzero A9 is no exception.
Setting up the attachment mop is easy – just fill the tank with water (no detergent) and snap on the attachment. You can control the amount of moisture via three modes: no water, low water, and high water, while the two microfiber pads spin.
The Cordzero A9 can’t vacuum and mop at once like many models out there, such as the Xiaomi G10. I had to vacuum the floor first – otherwise, this one just moved dirty water around the floor instead of actually cleaning it. Also, I found its microfiber pads didn’t dig deep enough to remove some stubborn messes. That said, this feature is only useful on surfaces that are already relatively clean.
I probably wouldn’t want to spend money on this lackluster feature, and it would be better if LG offered this model without the mop nozzle at a reduced price point.
App Connectivity
The last thing the Cordzero A9 has in its favor is the ability to connect to a smartphone/tablet via the LG ThinQ app. This feature is generally not a selling point, but it is nice to have!
I found a summary of how often I used the vacuum (broken down by week, month, and year), as well as the power modes I used. Admittedly, I didn’t understand the real purpose behind this data, so it was almost meaningless to me. When the vacuum is on the AIO tower, the app will notify you that the battery is being charged, allow you to track the progress of battery charging, and send another notification when the charging is complete.
The cherry on top is the Smart Diagnosis feature, a prognostic tool allowing you to nip bud problems through early detection. It also allows you to connect with LG technical support to resolve any issues, ensuring smooth and prompt resolution.
