Dyson V10 Vs V15: I extensively tested both, and I found the Dyson V15 was the better product, but the V10 wasn’t bad either.
The Dyson V15 is by far the best model of the Dyson cordless series and one of the most comprehensive vacuums I’ve tested. It’s hard to tell you how pleased I was with it, but I’ll do my best. In short, it has top-notch performance on all types of surfaces, comes with a wide range of attachments, sports a large and easy-to-empty dust cup, a whole machine filtration, and more.
The Dyson V10, on the other hand, also features great suction and some accessories and attachments. Its overall value is great, but given that this model debuted first, it’s not surprising that it is slightly behind the V15. It is also costly, no doubt, but you get what you pay for.

The Dyson V15 overwhelmed the V10 completely with a score of 3-0. Whoever you are and whatever your cleaning needs are, the Dyson V15 will blow your mind with unparalleled suction power and a superb set of attachments. Perhaps the only problem that many people are afraid of is its exorbitant price. Such is life. You get what you pay for!
Cleaning Performance
Winner: Dyson V15
Suction Power
The maximum suction powers of the Dyson V10 vs V15 are 140 AW and 230 AW, respectively. At first glance, many would claim that the second one is superior in terms of cleaning performance. It seems reasonable, but it turned out to be wrong.
My tests showed that they were almost neck and neck regarding vacuuming performance. The Dyson V10 could clean up almost all the debris I used, and end up with results that were nearly equal to those of the V15.
Hard Floor
For this test, I used the Dyson V10 with the Fluffy cleaning floorhead and the Dyson V15 with the Laser Slim Fluffy floorhead, which are designed for flooring.
The V10 did a good job on my hard floors. It seemed to leave a tiny amount of fine dust behind (about 3%, I guess), which was hard to notice with the naked eye. Meanwhile, I believe the V15 captured everything.
I found the V15’s Laser Slim Fluffy Floorhead worked smoother and was a bit quieter than the V10’s basic Fluffy Head. Another thing that the V15 has over its rival is that it has a laser light on the 2.0 High Torque floorhead, which helped me easily detect microscopic dust, minor debris, and hairs on my hard floors. Thanks to that, nothing was left behind.
Carpet
For my tests on carpets, I utilized the Dyson V15’s 2.0 High Torque and the V10’s Torque Drive cleaning heads. These cleaning heads can essentially be used for cleaning floors, but they are specifically designed for carpeting.
On my low-pile carpets, both did their jobs well. They picked up everything, and I was overjoyed.
The V10’s performance on my high carpet was just slightly behind that of the V15. It captured approximately 98% of the dirt – this is exceptional! Meanwhile, the V15 removed 100% – Amazing. There are very few stick vacuums, even uprights, that can achieve this.
I found it a bit hard to push at first, and I closed my eyes to turn a blind eye to this since I knew this was the trade-off for robust suction. But you should know that there is a small slider on the floorhead that can be used to adjust the suction until you can move freely.
So if you have a lot of carpets in your house and are looking for a model that is ideal for deep cleaning, the V15 is your best bet.
Hair Removal
Both the Dyson V10 vs V15 picked up the majority of hair on all my surfaces. But there was a decent amount of long hair stuck on the V10’s roller, while the V15 is better at resisting tangles. So why was there this difference? That’s because the V15’s 2.0 High Torque floorhead features some small “fangs,” which are specifically designed to minimize hair wrap issues.
Battery Life

The battery life of the Dyson V10 and V15 is compared below based on three cleaning modes: boost, auto, and eco.

As you can see, the battery life of the Dyson V10 is quite short. If you use the boost setting, try to get your vacuuming duties done as quickly as possible. The V15’s battery life isn’t the longest available, but it never runs out when I’m in the middle of a cleaning task.
Recharge time is relatively long. The good news is that the batteries of both are replaceable, so it is best to buy an extra battery. Because of its modest size, you may place it on your bedside table or anything similar.
Utilities

LCD Screen
The Dyson V15 features an LCD screen, which provides you with four valuable pieces of information, including:
- The vacuuming mode.
- Estimated remaining operating time.
- Maintenance alerts.
- Particulate data.
The particulate data gives you better insight by showing the exact size and the count of the particles vacuumed. These particles are organized into four color columns based on four different sizes: 10, 60, 180, and 500 microns. The technology behind this is a piezoelectric sensor.
On the flip side, the Dyson V10 doesn’t have such a helpful LCD screen. Instead, they have a few LED lights that can show some basic alerts, such as when the filter needs to be changed or if it is blocked. There are also three lights that indicate battery charge.
Attachments
Both the Dyson V10 vs V15 come with a range of useful attachments that help them adapt to different cleaning scenarios. The Dyson V15 wins again since it comes with a better set of attachments:

Note that the two versions mentioned are the Dyson V10 Absolute and the Dyson V15 Absolute. So if you go with other versions, such as the Dyson V10 Animal, Dyson V10 Motorhead, Dyson V15 Detect, and Dyson V15 Detect+, you won’t get all of the above attachments.
Dyson V10 vs V15: Similarities
Dust Bin Capacity and Filter
After testing hundreds of vacuums, I’ve found that many models share some common problems when emptying: Dust and debris fall next to the cup, or they don’t come out. Whatever it is, it won’t happen to these models’ dirt cups.
First, both of these dust canisters have an excellent capacity of 0.75 liters, which is neither particularly large nor small. So it is unnecessary to empty them so often while the devices are still so handy. Also, thanks to the “point and shoot” mechanism, you can empty these dust cups very precisely into the trash can.
All you need to do is remove the wand, hold the handle over the trash with the dirt container facing downward, and push down the red lever. Perform the up-and-down motion with this lever several times until nothing remains inside the dust cup. Everything is very easy and efficient!
On/Off
The duo has an on/off trigger system. So to power the vacuum, you need to press and hold the trigger down. It helps to avoid wasting battery power, but keeping the trigger constantly pressed in for a long time can be inconvenient. Personally, I favor the power button on the Dyson V12. Holding down a button for a long time is an awkward experience.

The Dyson V10 vs V15 are 2-in-1 vacuums that can be used as full-sized cordless stick vacuums or as handheld cordless vacuums by removing the wand and floorhead.
