In the comparison of Bissell PowerForce Helix vs Eureka PowerSpeed series, I decided to compare the basic but best-selling models of these two brands: Bissell PowerForce Helix 2191 vs Eureka PowerSpeed NEU182A. Between these two models, I prefer the Eureka PowerSpeed NEU182A to the Bissell PowerForce Helix 2191.
For me, the Eureka NEU182A provides greater cleaning convenience than the Bissell 2191. It features a larger dirt bin, longer hose and electric cord, and is a bit lighter than its competitor. Its cleaning performance is decent on carpeted surfaces and hard floors.
Meanwhile, the Bissell 2191 has a stiff and short 5 ft. hose, making it inconvenient for cleaning above-floor surfaces. However, it is more budget-friendly than the Eureka while performing good deep carpet cleaning the same as the Eureka NEU182A. So, it is a decent vacuum cleaner if you are on a tight budget.

Bissell Powerforce Helix vs Eureka PowerSpeed NEU182A: Differences
Between Bissell Powerforce Helix vs Eureka Powerspeed picked models, I observed that the Eureka NEU182A wins 2-0 against the Bissell 2191 owing to its better design and convenience and a bigger dirt bin.
Cleaning performance
Tie!
Suction strength
The suction power between Bissell Powerforce Helix vs Eureka Powerspeed NEU182A is similar. The measured suction at hose of the Eureka NEU182A was about 61” while that of the Bissell 2191 was around 62”. The Eureka shows a 1-inch lower suction than the Bissell, which could be attributed to the longer hose of the Eureka, making the airflow volume a bit lower than in the Bissell model.
Compatible floor type
These are two basic vacuums in the price range below one hundred dollars, so at first, I did not expect much for their cleaning performance on multiple surfaces. However, they did a decent job at cleaning low-pile to high-pile carpets.
- Carpets
I ran a test on my low-pile and medium-pile, and both machines performed decent jobs. They feature the adjustable-height cleaning head floor with 5 levels, allowing me to change the setting to be compatible with the height of my carpet.
I observed that they could collect pet hairs and fine debris embedded in the carpet. Moreover, when changing the cleaning nozzle to the high-pile height setting, Bissells 2191 and Eureka NEU182A can pick up large debris easier than when in the low-pile height setting.
- Bare/Hard floors
Unfortunately, their cleaning performance on the bare and hard floors is not as good as that on the carpets. On the bare floors, both vacuums scatter the debris backward, not totally sucking it into the machine. This is because neither the Eureka NEU182A nor Bissell 2191 has the option to turn off the brushroll.
Turning off or slowing down the brushroll speed is essential for better pick-up performance on bare and hard floors. The brush roll is important for deep carpet cleaning in addition to the strong suction, as it provides agitation to loosen the embedded debris. Meanwhile, on hard floors, strong suction is what we mainly need, and the spinning brush roll bristle will only scatter the dust particles, making the pick-up more difficult.
- Crevices
With strong suction, both Eureka NEU182A and Bissell 2191 can help clean crevices easier. When using these two models, I can clean the dust in hard-floor crevices with 3 passes.
Besides, both machines come with a crevice tool, so you can attach the tool to the hose and use it to clean the crevices on the sofa or ceiling.
Design & Convenience
Winner: Eureka PowerSpeed NEU182A
Maneuverability
The Eureka NEU182A wins this round because it has a longer hose length, longer electric cord, and lighter weight compared to the Bissell 2191.
The hose and cord of Eureka NEU182A are 7 feet and 25 inches in length, respectively, which are 2 inches longer than those of the Bissell 2191. Besides, it is a little lighter than the Bissell model. Thus, maneuvering the Eureka NEU182A is more comfortable and convenient during the cleaning process.
However, the vacuum models do not feature the swivel steering like on the higher-end models, so it can be somehow difficult when maneuvering the machines around the corners of your house.
Noise levels
For me, these two vacuums are relatively noisier than my Shark vacuums. The noise levels of them are about 80 dB – 82 dB. Though I find it tolerable, you should choose the quieter machines if you are sensitive to noise or have children and pets at home, as the noise from the machines may freak them out.
Dirt Tank & Filtration
Winner: Eureka PowerSpeed NEU182A
Dirt tank
Between the Bissell Powerforce Helix vs Eureka Powerspeed NEU182A dirt bin capacity, the Eureka NEU182A is the winner. It features a large 2.6 L (~2.75 quarts) dust bin, which can hold up a significant amount of dust while vacuuming.
The large-size dirt bin is very useful when you have a large house with 2-3 bedrooms. It is because you don’t need to clean up the dirt bin several times in the middle of your cleaning process which is an inconvenience factor in some vacuums with small-size dirt tanks.
Filtration system
For the filtration system between Bissell Powerforce Helix vs Eureka Powerspeed NEU182A, I do not appreciate what they offer. They both have a washable foam filter, but it is not completely sealed. So, when vacuuming, they give dust clouds out of the machines.
Thus, I would not recommend these cheap vacuum cleaners to people who are struggling with asthma or allergies. If you have these health problems, you can consider upgrading to the higher-price vacuums that have a sealed HEPA filtration system or changing to the bagged vacuum lines.
