Check out my review for the debate of Bissell Cleanview Compact vs Shark Navigator NV356E if you are trying to pick out the best vacuum at a low price! After testing both models, I can assure you that Shark Navigator NV356E is the only true winner!

Shark NV356e wins with many advantages. The vacuum has a long wire that can reach up to 30 feet, enabling users to clean a larger area than Bissell Cleanview Compact. Additionally, it includes a respectable 70 oz dust cup that does wonder when cleaning the entire house. Additionally, I enjoy its strong suction power, low noise level, and brushroll shut-off feature, some of the features the Bissell model fails to offer.

As for the runner-up Bissell Cleanview Compact, its greatest strength is in its name: compactness. The vacuum weighs only 7.5 pounds and is easy to haul around the apartment or room. Regarding cleaning performance, it can handle dust and debris of smaller sizes on small loads. So if you need a cut-price vacuum, this one is a good start!

Bissell Cleanview Compact vs Shark Navigator NV356E: Differences

Shark Navigator NV356E wins 3-0 and ties once Bissell Cleanview Compact. It’s quieter when cleaning any kind of debris from your floor, and it boasts a more advanced filtration system alongside a longer power cord and hose for a more comfortable vacuuming experience as well.

Cleaning performance

Winner: Shark Navigator NV356E

Types of trash

Against microdust or dirt, the pair doesn’t struggle much, especially NV356E. With Shark NV356E’s 9.5 inches cleaning path and Bissell Cleanview Compact’s 10 inches one, I don’t have to haul the vacuums across the same section many times to achieve a spotless-clean surface. Against short pet hair, I also notice a good cleaning performance, even if it’s stuck on a rough low-pile carpet.

The brushroll and the powerful suction can lift and remove the strands quite effectively.
Finishing the job with impeccable results is always more complicated regarding longer pet hair or larger trash pieces.

However, after testing the vacuums against typical large debris like chips, cereals, small vegetable pieces, or shredded papers, I find NV356E to be able to lift them with stronger force. At the same time, Bissell Cleanview Compact doesn’t deal with large debris very well, but it can work to a certain size, like cereals.

I advise using the crevice accessory to pick up large pieces first. This will guarantee that your device can clean almost every trash size.

Types of surfaces

Like most vacuums, these models work great with bare floors and low-pile carpets and struggle slightly against shaggy rugs or carpets. Judging from the brush rolls’ materials, which are plastic nylon with a soft texture, I don’t recommend working with a sealed wood floor that needs gentle cleaning. But if you use a standard tile floor or any other material for paving that doesn’t bother with light scratching, it shouldn’t be a problem.

Interestingly, Shark Navigator NV356e boasts a brush roll shut-off feature, which means you can work with a sealed floor without damaging it! So this is a major advantage for users with special floor types.

Filtration system

Winner: Shark Navigator NV356E

Shark uses HEPA filters in most of its vacuums, which is arguably one of the best filtration systems available for this appliance category at the time. HEPA filter tightly seals any dust particles inside the dirt bin and traps the debris inside without exhausting any dirty unit into the air. Being someone with a sensitive nose and a quick allergic reaction to dust or pepper, I find my experience with NV356E’s HEPA filter very positive so far.

As for Bissell Cleanview Compact, it comes with a standard multilayered disk filter. So far, I haven’t experienced any dust clouds with the system. But it may not traps microdust as well as the HEPA filter, especially in the long run. Also, it’s obligatory to replace the premotor filters of the Bissell Cleanview Compact every 3 months, or 6 months if you don’t use the vacuum frequently.

Design & Convenience

Winner: Shark Navigator NV356E

Firstly, let’s check the cord length. With Shark Navigator NV356E, users can enjoy a 30ft cord that allows very long reach in the same room without frequent plugging and unplugging. As for Bissell Cleanview Compact, the 23ft cord doesn’t attract me as much. But it’s good enough for smaller rooms with less dense furniture placement.

Secondly, Shark Navigator NV356E has a much larger dirt container that holds up to 70 oz of debris. On the other hand, the opponent Bissell Cleanview Compact’s tank holds up to 33.8 oz only. So, regarding efficiency and convenience during each cleaning session, the former outshines the latter completely.

Price and value – Target consumers

Tie

It’s a tough call to decide the winner of this round. Still, after considering their price points and features, I think each accommodates a very distinctive group of consumers, and one isn’t truly better than the other regarding price and value.

Shark Navigator NV356E has more advanced cleaning technologies and a filtration system that tends to users with sensitive noses. It allows users to work with a wider range of debris and surfaces, from microdust to snacks and bare floors to carpets, which is something its opponent of today’s battle can’t offer. On the other hand, to acquire such convenient techs, we have to invest more money. But I think it’s worth it!

Bissell Cleanview Compact is an economical option

As for Bissell Cleanview Compact, it’s not the best pick out there in terms of performance or technology. But if you are looking for a vacuum that cleans wonderfully in smaller apartments against smaller debris like dust or pet hair, this is a friendly pick for a tight budget.

My advice is that you go for NV356E if you can! It’s not overpriced at all and only is slightly more expensive than its opponent. There are so many benefits you can get from its technologies.
