In the comparison between Bissell CleanView Compact vs Hoover WindTunnel Whole House UH71350V, I prefer cleaning my whole house with the WindTunnel UH71350V because it offers more useful features than the CleanView Compact 3508.
The Hoover WindTunnel UH71350V has a 12-amp motor for strong suction that can handle all kinds of dust and debris on carpets and hard floors. It also offers a greater cleaning reach due to its 25-ft cord and 10-ft hose extension. The HEPA filter and automatic cord rewind are among my favorite features about this Hoove model. However, it is heavy, making maneuvering a bit difficult, which I considered a trade-off for other useful factors.
The Bissell CleanView Compact, though, has a less powerful motor, its suction is pretty well to pull up dust in the carpet and bare floor. It has a shorter electric cord and hose extension than the Hoover model, but it is much lighter, enabling ease in maneuverability on several surfaces. Thus, the Bissell CleanView Compact is a nice compact and inexpensive vacuum for you to clean your house on a daily basis.

Bissell CleanView Compact vs Hoover WindTunnel UH71350V: Differences
After comparing Bissell CleanView Compact vs Hoover WindTunnel UH71350V, I found that the Hoover WindTunnel wins 3-0 against the Bissell CleanView Compact. It is because the WindTunnel UH71350V has greater cleaning performance, a larger dirt bin, a HEPA filter, as well as greater utility.
Cleaning performance
Winner: Hoover WindTunnel UH71350V
Suction strength
The suction of Bissell CleanView Compact vs Hoover WindTunnel UH71350V’s does not differ considerably. Their suction is strong to effectively pick up almost everything on the floor, from large to small size particles.
In my opinion, the Hoover UH71350V possesses a more powerful suction owing to its 12-amp motor. With that great suction, it pulls up plenty of dander and hair effectively.
Meanwhile, the motor of the Bissell CleanView Compact is driven by only 6.2 amps. However, the suction performance is very good for such a small and lightweight vacuum.
Adjustable head nozzle
The WindTunnel UH71350V has an adjustable nozzle height with 5 settings, while the nozzle height of the Bissell CleanView Compact is fixed.
The nozzle height adjustment can support the maneuverability of the vacuum. Particularly, when vacuuming on carpet, if it is hard to push the WindTunnel UH71350V machine, I will increase the height to make it easier to move. Besides, 5 settings of the nozzle height allow the Hoover vacuum model to work more efficiently on different carpet thicknesses and floor types.
Brushroll system
There is no option to turn off the brush roll in the middle of cleaning for both Bissell CleanView Compact and Hoover WindTunnel UH71350V. Their brush rollers keep spinning even when the vacuums are in the upright position for using the hose. This is considered a drawback of these vac models because the nonstop spinning of the brush beater can damage the carpet while the hose is being used.
However, the Hoover WindTunnel UH71350V nozzle height adjustment can help somehow. I put the height setting to the highest level when using the hose with attachments so that it can limit the direct interaction between the brush roll and the carpet. As the result, the chance of burning up the carpet or the belt can be reduced.
Compatible floor type
I can say that both vacuum models of the Hoover and Bissell can handle a lot of pet hair pretty well on either hard floors or carpeted floors. However, I prefer vacuuming my floors and carpets with the Hoover WinTunnel Whole House UH71350V as I like its stronger suction, adjustable nozzle height, and wider cleaning path that covers a nice area of flooring.
- Carpets
For carpet cleaning performance between the Bissell CleanView Compact vs Hoover WindTunnel UH71350V, I would say that they are comparable. Overall, they clean my carpet very well. Their brush rolls give good agitation to loosen embedded dust in the carpet base and pull it up. Besides, they are great at picking up pet hair out of the carpet and rugs.
However, as I mentioned, their unstoppable brush beaters can cause damage to the carpet. I had a section of my carpet ruined because the carpet fibers were chewed up by the Bissell 3508 when I forgot to turn it off, though I’d already put them in the upright position. So, you should be aware of it.
- Bare floors
On bare floors, both vacuums do pick up dust particles like sand, litter box crumbs, and bird seeds without scattering them backward. However, with larger debris like cereal loops or goldfish crackers, these vacuums cannot pick up in one pass but push them instead.
Design & Convenience

Maneuverability
- Lightweight
The Hoover WindTunnel UH71350V is somehow difficult to move on long carpets because it is heavy and not self-propelled. So, controlling this model is a bit daunting, especially for those with weak upper body strength.
Conversely, the Bissell CleanView Compact is a lightweight vacuum model with a weight of under 8 lbs (7.5 lbs). I have no struggle maneuvering it on long and medium-pile carpets like when using the Hoover model. So, cleaning my house with this Bissell vacuum cleaner is a breeze!
- Reach range
Despite being heavy, the Hoover WindTunnel UH71350V offers greater reach than the Bissell Cleanview Compact. This can be attributed to its long cord of 25 ft. and greater hose extension length (10 ft.). The Bissell model has a shorter cord and hose, 23 ft. and 4.6 ft., respectively.
The hose extension of the Bissell CleanView is obviously much shorter than that of the Hoover WindTunnel, so it may be somehow inconvenient for cleaning high above floors like the ceiling and fan blades.
Noise levels
These vacuum models of Hoover and Bissell do make loud noises but are acceptable for their price ranges. When using the Bissell CleanView Compact, I hear a big whining sound coming out of the canister. Meanwhile, for the Hoover WindTunnel UH71350V case, the noise is sound like the sounds from a jet engine.
Dirt Tank & Filtration
Winner: Hoover WindTunnel UH71350V
Another difference between Bissell CleanView Compact vs Hoover WindTunnel UH71350V is that the Hoover has a larger dirt bin than the Bissell. This is understandable since the Hoover WindTunnel is designed to be a heavier-duty and bulkier vacuum than its rival. According to the specifications of these vacuums, the Hoover WindTunnel Whole House UH71350V is equipped with a 1.3-liter dirt bin, while that of the Bissell CleanView Compact 3508 is 1 liter.
Besides, the Hoover WindTunnel has a HEPA filter which is not featured on the Bissell CleanView Compact. The HEPA-standard filter is useful in reducing the micro dust getting out of the vacuum while vacuuming. So, it could reduce the allergy agents interacting with our respiratory system, which benefits our health in the long run.
Asides from these differences, the Hoover WindTunnel and Bissell CleanView Compact have a multi-level filtration system with a washable filter foam. Therefore, you can reuse the filter after rinsing it with lukewarm water and letting it dry completely. However, the HEPA filter of the Hoover model is not washable.
Utility
Winner: Hoover WindTunnel UH71350V
Auto cord rewind
The automatic cord rewind is another favorite feature of mine about the Hoover WindTunnel Whole House. After pulling the cord out, I can easily get it retracted by stepping on the button. No more back hurt from bending over to manually wrap the cord!
System check indicator
This is also another useful feature of the Hoover WindTunnel UH71350V, which you cannot find on the Bissell. The system check indicator is located on the top of the dirt bin. It will turn “red” when an obstruction in the machine causes suction loss. This lets you know it’s time to check and clean your vacuum. The indicator will turn back to “green” when the obstruction is removed.
