If you are looking for a compact and affordable upright vacuum cleaner, don’t miss the duo, Bissell CleanView Compact vs Dirt Devil Endura Max. Here are my reviews after the process of testing both machines. Hope it helps you. To summarize briefly, the winner is Dirt Devil Endura Max.
The Endura Max has the upper hand due to its amazing suction power, huge dirt compartment, great design, and wide range. It has a powerful dirt-cleaning ability for multiple surfaces, such as hardwood floors, laminate floors, high-pile carpets, and more.
The runner-up, Bissell CleanView Compact, is also a worthwhile choice. It is suitable for those who want to find an ultra-compact machine with medium capacity. It is a very basic machine with the basic functions of an upright vacuum cleaner.

Bissell CleanView Compact vs Dirt Devil Endura Max: Differences
After examining the differences between these two vacuums, I concluded Dirt Devil Endura Max wins 2:0 and tie 1 against the Bissell CleanView Compact thanks to its cleaning performance, suction power, and dirt compartment. Read the analysis below to know more about the pros and cons of each machine.
cleaning performance
The winner: Dirt Devil Endura Max
In general, these machines can work on multiple surfaces, such as bare floors, hardwood floors, carpets, rugs, and so on. However, in this article, I will mainly refer to their cleaning performance on hard floors and carpets.
Performance on hard floors
On hard floors, both Bissell Cleanview Compact and Dirt Devil Endura Max perform really well. The Endura Max had no trouble handling dirt and small debris on these types of surfaces. The brush roll design with the soft ones is created for gentle cleaning on hard floors. It also has a gasket that allows it to pick up dirt on hard floors without scratching the floor.
Besides, the nozzle head is also designed with three airflow channels that allow the machine to suction dirt from the sides and from the front. Therefore, this device is really good at picking up fine debris like sand. At the same price point as the Endura Max, it’s rare to find an upright vacuum with such useful features.
With the Bissell 3508, this vacuum is incredible on hard floors. The edge tools and brush are great and you can feel the powerful suction of this machine while using it. If your floor is mainly laminate or faux wood, you can be assured of the cleaning ability that this vacuum brings.
Performance on carpets
On carpets, Dirt Devil Endura Max scores thanks to the nozzle height adjustment feature. I tried changing the height setting to clean my thick rug in the bedroom, and it really worked. The fact is that the brush does not slow down at all. It works best when sucking up dirt like sand and pet hair. When cleaning high-pile carpet, it may miss some large debris in the carpet fibers since the suction power is now slightly reduced.
Meanwhile, I was not impressed with Bissell CleanView Compact’s carpet cleaning performance. Unlike Endura Max, this machine does not allow users to manually adjust the height of the cleaning head. Hence, it is quite difficult for the machine to roll on mid-pile and high-pile carpets and you need to really put in a lot of effort to push it away. Also, I noticed that it made a louder sound when moving over thick carpets, almost screeching.
Pet hair performance
In my experience, this duo’s pet hair cleaning performance is decent. They have powerful suction and a brush roll construction suitable for picking up pet hair on a variety of surfaces. However, since they are not vacuum cleaners designed specifically for pet owners, there are some limitations.
One of those problems is cleaning the brush roll because it is easy to tangle and hard to reach. Meanwhile, the hair tends to wrap tightly around the roller. With the Dirt Devil Endura Max, you need to remove six screws to access and unscrew the brush roll, and putting it back in place after disassembly is also quite complicated. Even if you keep the brush roll in place and only use scissors to cut the tangled hair, it will take a while. However, given their price, there isn’t much more I could ask for.
Dirt bin and filtration
The winner: Dirt Devil Endura Max
Dirt bin
They are all bagless upright vacuums and use transparent dust cups to collect dirt and debris.
Dirt Devil Endura Max has a relatively large dust container, 2 liters, allowing you to comfortably clean your house without having to frequently empty it. Its dust compartment can be lifted out by pressing the release button near the handle. To empty the dirt tank, leave it above the trash can, press the open button on the bottom of the tank to release the dirt, and that’s it. A tip for you is to place the dust cup close to the mouth of the trash so that when you pour out the dust, it will be less likely to fly around and stain your clothes.
Likewise, the dust cup of Bissell CleanView Compact is also easy to disassemble and clean. However, its capacity is only half that of the Endura Max. I don’t like how the dust cup simply leans against the intake opening, it doesn’t really snap into place and is a bit loose. Such a design does not affect the performance of the machine at all, I just feel that it is not really stable.
Filtration
In general, they are reasonably effective at capturing dust but cannot reach the HEPA standard. I’m not surprised or disappointed by this. In fact, with prices ranging from $60 to $80, not many vacuums are equipped with a HEPA filter. However, if you have allergies or breathing problems, you need to consider them before buying them.
In terms of construction, the Endura Max comes with two filters. The first is foam and felt pre-motor filters. They are located under the top cover of the dirt cup. The other one is the exhaust filter, which is located on the top of the vacuum’s floorhead. This filter is easy to access and can be rinsed underwater to be maintained. Just remember to let it dry for at least 24 hours before using it again.
The CleanView Compact also has a washable filter that’s on top of the dirt cup. It needs periodic cleaning and maintenance just like the filters of the Endura Max.
Design and convenience
Tie
Built Quality
To be frank, the build quality of these machines is nothing short of outstanding. They are made entirely of plastic and don’t look very sturdy. However, the plus point is that they are all fairly easy to assemble.
Assembling the Endura Max is quick and easy, only taking about 5 minutes. This process could be easier if the assembly instructions were more detailed, specific, and clear.
Meanwhile, the Bissell CleanView Compact is almost complete when delivered. You need two screws to install the handle, a few snaps, and that’s it. Disassembling the machine parts will take longer than when you assemble them.
Maneuverability
The common point for both machines is that they have a compact design. In particular, the Bissell 3508 weighs only about 7.5 pounds, super lightweight. This makes it easy for users to clean stairs, and stow the vacuums away in a corner of the room when not in use. Besides, the compact design also helps them wriggle more easily in tight spaces such as under the table, under the bed, etc.
However, in terms of range, Bissell CleanView Compact has a rather short power cord and hose. At the same time, its cleaning path is also quite narrow, only 10 inches, so it is not suitable for large rooms with high ceilings. In this aspect, the Endura Max is quite better. This machine has a wider cleaning head and a longer power cord than its opponent.
Another point to note is that both machines have a fixed suction head design that cannot be swiveled, so moving the machine will be a bit inconvenient.
Noise Level
Overall, both vacuums are somewhat noisy and noisier than the average noise level of an upright vacuum cleaner.
From my experience, I found the two machines to have equal noise levels. Their noise can vary depending on the surface it is sucking, but mainly fluctuates between 83 dB and 85 dB. At this level, you can’t watch TV and vacuum at the same time, unless you turn the speakers to full volume.
