Between the Bissell 2252 vs Shark NV360, which would be a better vacuum cleaner for you? If I have to choose one, I will go for the Shark NV360.
I prefer the Shark NV360 because it provides strong and adjustable suction power and a brush-roll shutoff feature for effective multiple-surface cleaning. It also features a detachable pod, which comes in handy when vacuuming the above-floor surfaces or surfaces. Its sealed HEPA filtration system is also a big plus for people with allergy issues.
On the hand, the Bissell 2252 is a nice vacuum cleaner for its price. It does a good job at vacuuming, though its cleaning performance is relatively weaker than that of the Shark NV360. Besides, it is a very loud vacuum to me, so it is unsuitable for people sensitive to noise.

Bissell 2252 vs Shark NV360: Differences
In the competition of Bissell 2252 vs Shark NV360, the Shark NV360 wins 3-0 against the Bissell 2252 in terms of cleaning performance, filtration system, and utility.
Cleaning performance
Winner: Shark NV360
In the Bissell 2252 vs Shark NV360 cleaning performance, the Shark NV360 has a better overall performance due to its suction power and control.
Suction power and control
For the comparison between the Bissell 2252 vs Shark NV360 suction power, I observed that the Shark NV360 has the stronger one. The motor power of the Shark NV360 is higher than the Bissell 2252’s, which contributes greatly to the stronger suction power of this vacuum. Specifically, the measurement for the suction at hose of the Bissell 2252 vs Shark NV360 shows that the Shark NV360 has an 84-inch water lift while that of the Bissell is 64 inches of water lift.
Additionally, the Shark NV360 has a small ring for controlling the suction power. This function is useful for cleaning multiple surfaces. For example, when using the Shark NV360 for cleaning the carpet (I have a low-pile carpet in my bedroom), I can release the ring on the handheld to lower the suction strength if I find it hard to push the vacuum or my carpet is lifted up when vacuuming.
Brush roll system
For the brush roll system between the Bissell 2252 vs Shark NV360, the result is a tie because each of them has its own unique feature.
What I really like about the Shark NV360 brushroll system is the ability to turn off the brushroll for hard floor cleaning, allowing me to access the suction-only mode. This is efficient for hard/bare floor cleaning. By selecting “Bare Floor,” the brushroll stops spinning, resulting in less debris being scattered behind the brush, resulting in more effective picking up fine dust and sand on the hard floor.
Yet, one thing I do not really like about the Shark NV360 brush roll system is that it is not anti-hair wrap. The Bissell 2252 triple-action brush roll does well in addressing this hair wrap problem. After the test of cleaning long pet hair, I noticed that when using Bissell 2252, most of the hairs get into the dust bin, not wrapping up on the brush roll as in the case of using Shark NV360.
Nevertheless, surface-switching is more crucial than anti-hair wrap because the former significantly improves the cleaning performance of a vacuum. So, I still vote for the Shark NV360 in this round.
Head-height adjustment
For this subcategory, the Bissell 2252 scored one point over the Shark NV360. It is because the Bissell 2252 provides a manually adjustable head height with 5 settings, which is not featured on the Shark NV360.
The 5-setting head-height adjustment feature allows me to increase the height of the Bissell 5525 cleaning head to easily clean high-pile carpet surfaces. So, this would be a plus that makes the Bissell 2252 a good vacuum cleaner, compared to other machines in this cheaper price range.
Floor-type compatibility
Overall, both Bissell 2252 and Shark NV360 can do a good performance on multiple surfaces, such as carpets, rug areas, hard floors, crevices, and above floors. In particular, the Bissell 2252 is a bit better in bare-floor cleaning, while for deep carpet cleaning, the Shark NV360 outperforms its rival.
- Carpets/Rugs
On the carpet and rug cleaning tests of Bissell 2252 vs Shark NV360, the Shark NV360 is more efficient for deep cleaning. The traditional brushroll of the NV360 provides enough agitation to tackle the embedded dust. It can suck a great amount of dog hair and fine debris into the dirt bin. Its suction control is also useful for vacuuming on different carpet types like on shag/thick carpets and low-pile carpets.
The Bissell 2252 does a decent job of carpet cleaning but is not significant for thick rugs or carpets. Though it has an adjustable nozzle height function, its suction power cannot be modified, resulting in the risk of destroying several carpet surfaces owing to the strong suction.
- Bare floors
Though I said that when the brush roller is unable to turn off when vacuuming bare floors, it will cause the scattering of debris, the Bissell 2252 can limit this. It is because the Bissell 2252 has a small rubber line at the back of the nozzle, creating a better seal on the hard floor to capture the debris scattered back by the bristles. Thus, it can clean the bare floor slightly better than the Shark NV360, especially for collecting fine debris.
Besides, the side edges of the Bissell cleaning nozzle have small brush bristles to collect the pet hairs in the crevices between the wall and bare floors. For me, this feature is quite interesting and useful.
Meanwhile, the Shark NV360 is slightly weaker in bare-floor cleaning as I need 3-4 passes to collect all the debris and hair on the floor. It is because its cleaning head bottom does not offer a good seal as the Bissell does. However, the scattering is barely seen on hard floors when using the Shark NV360, thanks to the brushroll on/off function.
Filtration
Winner: Shark NV360
The HEPA filter with Anti-allergen Complete Seal Technology is a big plus for the Shark NV360. This sealed HEPA filtration system is advantageous for people with allergies because it traps the allergy agents inside the dust bin and helps reduce the smell of the dust while vacuuming.
Meanwhile, the Bissell 2252 is equipped with a multi-level filtration, not sealed HEPA filtration, yet it may not be a suitable choice for asthma or allergy sufferers.
Design & Convenience
Winner: Shark NV360
Lift-Away canister
The Shark NV360 features a lift-away canister, which allows me to detach the canister from the cleaning nozzle. This handy feature lets me easily carry the canister around to clean the above-floor surfaces, such as crevices of the ceiling, the curtains, the stairs, and sometimes the inside surfaces of my car.
Thus, it is more convenient when vacuuming the house with the Shark NV360 than with the Bissell 2252.
Noise level
To me, between the Bissell 2252 vs Shark NV360 noise level, the Bissell 2252 is the nosier. When vacuuming, the Bissell 2252 makes a high-pitched whistling noise, which was measured at about 83 dB.
The Shark NV360, though making a louder sound than the higher-price machines, has a noise level of 77 dB, lower than that of the Bissell 2252.
So, if your pets or family members are sensitive to noise, you should avoid using this vacuum cleaner when they are at home or consider purchasing another quieter machine.
