In the comparison of Bissell 2252 vs 2739, I found it difficult to tell which is better because these two vacuums are very similar to each other. For me, they are decent vacuums for their prices, with good suction and cleaning performance.

However, the Bissell 2739 has a small upgrade from the Bissell 2252. Specifically, this model has a longer cord and hose and an automatic rewind cord. Therefore, Bissell 2252 can be considered the winner as it makes cleaning duty more convenient.

Though the Bissell 2252 does not have the auto-rewind cord mechanism, it is lighter than the 2739 model. Therefore, if you want a lighter vacuum to reduce the stress on your arm and wrist, the Bissell 2252 is an appropriate option.

As the Bissell 2739 is currently unavailable online, if you really want to get this vacuum model, the model Bissell 2254 is an excellent alternative with the same features as the 2739 one.

Bissell 2252 vs 2739: Differences

The Bissell 2739 wins 1-0 against the Bissell 2252 in terms of utility for its automatic cord rewind. For other aspects, the result between Bissell 2252 vs 2739 is a tie.

Cleaning performance

Tie!

Suction power and control

The suction power of Bissell 2252 vs 2739 is the same, based on my experience. The estimated suction at hose for them is about 64 inches of water lift. They can pick up pretty well on both carpets and bare floors. Pet hairs, fine and large debris, can also be sucked up decently.

However, these two vacuums do not offer options to adjust the suction power, which will cause some problems in cleaning; for example, the carpet can be damaged as the vacuum sucks the carpet fibers in addition to the embedded dust.

Yet, both Bissell 2252 and 2739 have the Suction Indicator, which will turn red if there is something in the hose or brush roll causing the blockage and suction loss. In this situation, you can check the cleaning nozzle, the dirt bin, and the hose to ensure they are clean and not clogged.

Brush roll system

The Bissell 2739 and 2252 both have triple-action brush roll systems, which the brand claims can prevent hair wrap. In reality, they reduce the amount of hair wrapping on the roller, not completely eliminate it.

This feature can be useful for pet owners because they do not have to spend much time on cleaning and maintaining the brush roll. It could help reduce the risk of brush rolls clogged up by pet hairs.

Besides, anti-scattering technology is applied to their cleaning nozzle. A small rubber line is attached behind the brush roll to capture the scattered debris by the brush bristles. This probably creates a better seal on the hard floor; therefore, I find that the Bissell 2252 and 2739 do better picking up debris and dirt on bare floors than some other vacuums at the same price range.

However, their brush roll cannot be turned off when vacuuming the bare floor, which can be considered a small disadvantage. It is because some delicate floor surfaces could be damaged as the bristles continuously scratch them.

Nozzle-height adjustment

Both of them have adjustable height cleaning nozzles with 5 settings. The lowest setting can be used for the bare floor to provide a better seal, while the II or III setting can be applied for low-pile carpets. For high-pile carpets, you can you a higher level of nozzle height. Moreover, you can use the higher level for the nozzle height when vacuuming the bare floor so that the bristles would not touch the floor.

Design & Convenience

Maneuverability

  • Lightweight

The Bissell 2252 is 12.5 pounds, while the Bissell 2379 is 13.65 pounds. So, the 2252 model is lighter than the 2739 one.

Even though the difference is just about 1 pound, it could make a notable difference in maneuvering the vacuum, especially when you have a large house and a long cleaning session. It is because the lighter vacuum will require less force to push, so it probably put less pressure on your arm and wrist.

  • Swivel steering

Both machines have swivel joints, and they are pretty good. At the price range of around ~$150, not many vacuum cleaners have the swivel steering, so this is a plus for these two Bissell CleanView Swivel models. The swivel joint will help you steer your vacs around the wall corners and furniture more easily, so the stress put on your wrist will be reduced considerably.

Reach range

Between the Bissell 2252 vs 2739, the Bissell 2739 is the winner because it provides a longer hose and a longer cord. Specifically, the Bissell 2739 has 2 inches longer electric cord and hose than its rival.

Because these two Bissell vacuum models do not feature lift-off pods, the greater hose length is very useful for cleaning above floors like stairs and window blinds/curtains. Additionally, the longer cord will reduce the interruption for unplugging and replugging during your cleaning session.

Thus, between Bissell 2252 vs 2739, you can consider purchasing the Bissell 2739 if the cleaning convenience matters to you.

Utility

Winner: Bissell 2739

Automatic cord rewind

The Bissell 2739 has auto cord rewind
The Bissell 2739 has an auto cord rewind

This auto-cord rewind is the most notable upgraded feature on the Bissell 2739. Some people may find this very convenient as they don’t have to bend all the way to wrap the cord manually. So, once again, the Bissell 2739 will be a more suitable pick for you if you need greater convenience in your regular cleaning task.

Bissell 2252 vs 2739: Similarities

Dirt tank & Filtration system

The dirt bin capacity between Bissell 2252 vs 2739 is the same, about 1.1 dry quarts. Their dust cups are also easy to take out, empty, and clean.

For the filtration system, they have the standard filtration with multiple washable filter foams. This means their filtration is not the sealed HEPA one. In the same price range, I haven’t seen any vac featuring an anti-allergen seal HEPA filtration. So, this is acceptable for their price.
