If you are wondering which one to choose between Bissell 2252 vs 24613, the following article is a personal opinion derived from my experience, and I hope it will be helpful for you. For a quick answer, the winner is Bissell 2252.
Known as one of the best-selling vacuum cleaners online, the 2252 won my heart for its incredibly affordable price tag. In addition, its strong suction power and good cleaning ability on many different surfaces and spaces, along with many other accompanying utilities, are advantages that should not be missed in this machine.
The 24613 is also a very serious opponent. Compared to many other machines I have experienced, this machine is relatively quiet. It also impressed me with the ability to deep clean carpets and sweep pet hair scattered everywhere.

Bissell 2252 vs 24613: Differences
After experiencing both upright vacuum cleaners, I decided to Bissell 2252 wins 3:0 and ties 1 against Bissell 24613. Although the performance of both machines is great, there are still clear differences; read the analysis below for a better understanding.
Cleaning Performance
The winner: Bissell 2252
Compatible Floor Type
These two upright vacuum cleaners work well on both hard floors and carpets.
With Bissell 24613, the machine has a brushroll on/off function that allows you to use the brushroll to deep clean carpets, then turn it off for gentle cleaning on bare floors. When vacuuming on hard surfaces, the brushroll often spreads dirt and debris away from the vacuum head before being sucked in. The off-brush mode will now switch the vacuum to “suction only” mode, making it easier to clean hard floors without pushing dust everywhere.
As for Bissell 2252, the machine does not have a brushroll on/off function but a little squeegee instead. This small detail helps create a better cushion for the machine when operating on hard surfaces. This is especially important if you want to vacuum hard floors without scattering debris or turning off the brush roll.
In addition, this device allows users to adjust the height of the head cleaner to accommodate different types of carpets of different heights. This is also the point you can’t find on the 24613, and this causes a bit of trouble. With debris the same size as Cheerios, you can’t use a vacuum cleaner to manipulate it but have to resort to the help of the hose.
Another point to note regarding the ability to pick up debris is the 23614’s blind spot. This is the result of the cover for the brush bail being placed near the middle of the brush. Thus, you need to move this machine 2 to 3 times through the same area to clean up all the dirt instead of 1, like when using the 2252.
Pet Hair Performance
Both machines are designed by the manufacturer with the purpose of serving pet owners, so their ability to clean pet hair is quite impressive.
The 24613 is in the Bissell pet hair eraser series. One of my favorite details on this machine is the anti-tangle brushroll tool. It works well, as evidenced by the fact that almost nothing gets stuck on the brush, no matter how much hair you suck in.
I also noticed a similar performance on the 2252. My longhaired cat sheds a lot, and the white coat color is very noticeable. I had tried many other vacuums in the past, but they all didn’t really work until I tried Bissell 2252. Surprisingly, this machine removed all pet hair from my carpet just by having a few basic lines. However, sometimes a little pet hair is stuck on the brush, so you need to be noticed.
Suction strength
When it comes to suction power, Bissell 2252 has a bigger advantage. Compared to other machines in the same price range, I am quite impressed with the suction power of the 2252. It works well on many other surfaces, including stairs, area rugs, sealed hard floors, and pet beds. According to the manufacturer, its power rating is 8 AMPS, while the airflow and suction at the hose that I can measure are 78 CFM and 67 inches. In which, CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) is one of the units of measuring wind flow within 1 minute with the unit in cubic feet. The higher this CFM index, the greater the wind’s power and the greater the suction power.
Meanwhile, Bissell 24613 has below-average suction power compared to other machines in the price range. The power rating is 7 AMPS; suction at the hose is 67 inches, and airflow at the hose is 68 CFM. Overall, most of the measured factors of the 24613 are lower than the 2252.
Noise level
In terms of noise levels, this time, Bissell 24613 has the upper hand. As you may likely know, most vacuum cleaners make noise, big or small. Among the machines that I have had the opportunity to experience, the 24613 is relatively quiet, at about 74 dB. This noise level is comparable to the sound of an alarm or the sound of a normal conversation.
Meanwhile, Bissell 2252 will be a bit louder than average, with a noise level of about 83 dB. This noise level can change depending on the type of surface on which the machine is operating as well as the machine’s suction power. It can also be compared to the sound of a busy downtown street. This level will not affect your hearing unless you are exposed to it for too long (more than 8–10 hours per day).
Dirt tank And Filter
Tie
Dirt tank
Both of these Bissell upright vacuum cleaners are equipped with a dust cup, which is easy to empty and does not include cyclone parts that are difficult to clean.
In terms of size, Bissell 2252 comes with a 1-liter dirt tank, while the Bissell 24613 is equipped with a 0.75-liter. This is not a huge difference. In general, the larger the dust cup, the longer the vacuuming time will be, and the less time you will have to empty the bin.
In terms of technology, this pair shares the same multi-cyclonic cleaning system. According to the manufacturer, this technology ensures no loss of suction power, prolongs the vacuum time, and keeps most of the dirt inside the dust cup.
Filter
When discussing this aspect, the first thing to mention is that neither of these machines has HEPA filtration, which is also a common disadvantage of both machines. HEPA stands for “High-Efficiency Particulate Air.” This filter captures 99.97% of all contaminants 0.3 microns or larger in diameter. When the vacuum cleaner is equipped with this filter, you will not smell anything while vacuuming, and this is especially beneficial for those who suffer from allergic rhinitis.
With the Bissell 24613, the machine is equipped with the SmartSeal Allergen filtration system, which is designed to trap fine dust and allergens inside the vacuum but cannot yet reach the HEPA standard. This type of filter is still better than average but nothing special. It has a foam filter and a post-motor filter which is not a HEPA filter but looks like one.
In Bissell’s list of a wide range of filter options, the 2252’s filter falls behind the 24613’s. As a result, the Bissell 2252’s ability to filter and trap fine dust and allergens is also lower than its competitors. However, in general, such machines in this price range do not have this function.
Utilities
The winner: Bissell 2252
Besides the common features such as a swivel head, bagless and lightweight, I find Bissell 2252 also has its own unique features that are extremely useful.
The first is the Air Flow Indicator feature. Airflow is the volume of air moving through the vacuum. It is measured in vacuum specifications as CFM or cubic feet per minute. The more airflow going through the vacuum, the better. The machine has an Air Flow Indicator that will allow you to monitor the suction power of the machine, thereby making adjustments to make the cleaning process easier and more efficient.
Besides, Dual Edge Cleaning is also another interesting utility. In places with lots of furniture and lots of nooks and crannies, cleaning often becomes more difficult. The Dual Edge Cleaning feature then provides ambient suction to clean hard-to-reach areas like baseboards and around furniture.
Great For Value
The winner: Bissell 2252
It is not natural that Bissell 2252 has become one of the best-selling vacuum cleaners online. That’s because it’s very inexpensive while it’s surprisingly useful and effective. This machine possesses many advantages that you will not be able to find in other machines of the same price. One of them is a fairly complete and suitable accessory set for pet owners, including a tool to increase suction pressure.
Given the price of the Bissell 24613, to be honest, I was expecting more than it presented. It works well and efficiently, that’s true, but its performance is mostly average and nothing too outstanding.
