It hasn’t been easy to decide the winner of the Bissell 2252 vs 2260 debate due to undeniably similar features between these vacuums. But after considering the price, noise level, and cord length, the worthy winner is Bissell 2260.
Both machines are designed to tackle pet hair and small debris with ease. They both have adjustable head height, good suction power, and amazing accessories that help access and clean different areas. Bissells 2260 wins because it has a longer cord, which helps reach further with less frequent plugging and unplugging, and quieter operation.
While Bissell 2252 has good cleaning performance, it lacks the convenience that 2260 offers. Nevertheless, it still is a very considerable model for low-budget appliance shopping.

Bissell 2252 vs 2260: Differences
Bissell 2260 wins 2-0 and ties twice against Bissell 2252. Both are amazing options for pet hair and any standard indoor cleaning. What makes the former the winner is its longer cord length and stable operation noise-wise. Check out how these vacuums work for me below!
Cleaning performance
Tie
Pet or human hair
Needless to say, this is on the top list of things that vacuum cleaners are afraid of the most. Hair strands can get stuck to the brushroll easier than any other debris, which may cause clogs in the intake port or the connection between the hose and the dirt container.
In the case of Bissell 2252 and 2260, these devices have been performing well against hair, especially if the hair is on a bare floor or a low-pile carpet. As for high-pile carpets, it’s harder to move the vacuums around and lift all the hair strands from shaggy fibers. But they do a decent enough job that makes the carpet looks clean, even though there is still hair left behind. The brushroll helps a lot in the cleaning of hair!
Dust
It’s very easy to remove dust with these vacuums. Thanks to their potent suction power and triple-action brushroll, I don’t have to go over a single section more than 2 swipes to enjoy a spotless floor. The pair does a noticeably great job with low-pile carpets in this regard. I can see the stripes of sections that have been cleaned efficiently. They always look much brighter and cleaner than the neighboring areas.
Cereals or bigger debris
Bigger debris requires a higher floor nozzle to take in the trash without users having to lift, bend, or tilt the entire vacuum. Luckily, we can count on these models’ variable head height function. The adjustment is 100% manual and can help access larger trash pieces or different surfaces without hurting our wrists or damaging the floor or carpet. In all cases, I usually opt for the crevice nozzle to clean larger debris since it’s more convenient.
Filtration and dirt containers’ convenience
Tie
Like most Bissell’s vacuums, these vacuums have a multicycle disk filtration system, which means that they can filter dust particles to exhaust fresh air while we are cleaning. Still, it’s not a super-advanced system, either. As a result, there is a good chance that users have to replace the disk filter after a year or 2 of using the device regularly.
However, since the filters are so affordable, it isn’t a huge drawback for these vacuums, especially when they filter microdust so well. As someone with a sensitive nose, I don’t particularly appreciate having the air in the house bombarded with flying dust. If I don’t sneeze much when I vacuum with these models, they filter well.
Regarding the dirt container, these vacuums have the same capacity of 0.26 gallons. It’s also easy to empty the container since all it takes is a push of a button. I don’t have to touch the yucks either because the button isn’t designed too close to the bottom tray of the bin. That’s a good touch!
Cord length
Winner: Bissell 2260
Bissell 2260’s cord is 30ft long, and 2252 is designed with a 25ft one. Even though the difference isn’t that significant, sometimes it’s noticeably more convenient to work with 2260 when it comes to cleaning around furniture. The 30ft power cord provides enough comfort to clean a medium-large room without me having to plug and unplug it too many times. Of course, you can always count on a longer vacuum cord!
Noise level
Winner: Bissell 2260
Regarding noise level, Bissell 2260 has been doing better than 2252. Even though I don’t have the right tools to measure the decibel of each device’s noise when cleaning normal to big messes, it’s easy to notice the distinction between them. While Bissell 2260 makes a medium sound level when cleaning, 2252 clearly exceeds the noise range.
And which group of users should keep this in mind detail in operation? I highly recommend choosing wisely if you have newborns in the house or simply if you are not a fan of vacuums’ white noise. It’s very normal for people not to enjoy white noises even though they may be soothing and relaxing for others.
Bissell 2252 vs 2260: Similarities
These vacuums share almost identical designs. Check out 2 features worth mentioning that will affect your cleaning experience below!
Triple action brushroll with no turn-off function
Both 2252 and 2260 come with the classic tripe-action brushroll of Bissell. The brushroll helps reveal and remove any hair and dirt stuck onto the floor or carpet in your home. But, users also get worried about their sealed floor because active brushroll may wear off the coating too quickly. The good thing is that these brushrolls have a silk-like texture even though they can’t be shut off. So even if they are dense, they don’t scratch the surface forcefully!
Cleaning nozzles or accessories
Alongside the standard floor, crevice, and upholstery nozzles, these vacuums come with the exclusive pet hair erase accessory of Bissell. It’s designed to pick up hair with high suction power, which works with bare floors, low-pile carpets, and high-pile ones. In addition, the nozzle is anti-tangle, so it can also handle long hair. Are you the owner of a long-haired dog breed? Then, these vacuums might be the savior for your couch and carpet.
